Schumer calls on Trump to withdraw nominee over ‘foul and disqualifying’ texts

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has joined calls for President Trump to withdraw the nomination of Paul Ingrassia for the Office of Special Counsel.

This demand comes after alleged text messages surfaced in which Ingrassia reportedly said he has a “Nazi streak.”

In addition to this troubling remark, Ingrassia, who was nominated in June, is also accused of making racist comments in a text chain with other Republican officials.

The controversy surrounding Ingrassia’s nomination has intensified calls for President Trump to reconsider and withdraw his appointment to the important oversight position.

Jon Stewart Gives Basic Economics Lesson To Socialist Bernie Sanders

Comedy Central host Jon Stewart explained the impact subsidies have on prices to independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont during a Monday appearance on “The Daily Show” while discussing the government shutdown.

The federal government entered a partial shutdown at 12:01 a.m. EDT on Oct. 1 after the Senate failed to pass a continuing resolution, falling short of the 60 votes needed to overcome a Democratic filibuster. This came after the House of Representatives passed the short-term funding bill on Sept. 19.

During the discussion, Stewart talked about Democrats’ demands for over $1 trillion in funding for various priorities, including continuing enhanced payouts for Obamacare, with Sanders. He explained how subsidies can increase prices for consumers.

“What happens is, when the government promises endless funds to insurance companies or private universities without any cost controls — and Trump seems to understand this — prices rise far beyond the rate of inflation. We have seen this in tuition, pharmaceuticals, and health care. So my question is, will Democrats recognize the poison pill that they have often placed into well-intentioned policy?” Stewart asked Sanders.

Sanders responded, “Right, right. What they end up doing is coming up with very complicated proposals. You make $48,964, you will get this thing, make a dollar more, blah, blah, blah.”

He continued, “Listen, we have to make it simple. In the wealthiest country in the history of the world, should health care be a human right? Yes, it should be. Should we have the best quality education in the world, from childcare to graduate school? Yes, we should.”

A 2017 study by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York found that for every dollar of financial aid provided through federal programs, college tuitions increased by 60 cents. Former Sallie Mae CEO Al Lord admitted in a 2021 Wall Street Journal interview that student-loan programs enabled the steep increases in college tuition since the 1980s.

In a related development, the University of Santa Clara announced it would increase financial aid after the One Big Beautiful Bill Act limited loans for professional education like law and medical school to $50,000. The university plans to provide each new student a $16,000 scholarship, effectively reducing tuition from $63,280 to $47,280, according to Reuters.

After pausing due to audience applause, Sanders launched into a critique targeting so-called “oligarchs.”

“You know, what we need is a very simple, straightforward agenda, which says, by the way, this is really the sticking point: you’ve got to finally say to the oligarchs, who have never ever had it so good — they are making hand over fist — all right, you got to say to them, ‘Sorry, guys, a billion dollars is enough. You ain’t going to have $200 billion or $300 billion. Try to survive on a mere billion. You will start paying your fair share of taxes!’” Sanders said as the audience applauded and cheered.

According to the Tax Foundation, the top 1% of income earners in the United States — those making $682,577 a year or more in 2024 — accounted for 26.3% of adjusted gross income and paid 45.8% of all federal income taxes.

‘Deeply misguided’: WSJ reams JD Vance’s defense of GOP operatives who praised Hitler

The Wall Street Journal editorial board sharply criticized Vice President JD Vance for his reflexive defense of Young Republicans operatives who were caught sharing racist and openly pro-Nazi messages in group chats.

“The reality is that kids do stupid things, especially young boys,” Vance said, seemingly ignoring that the operatives involved ranged in age from 18 to 40. He also attacked the media for reporting on the leaked messages, calling on everyone to move on and focus on real issues.

The editorial board called Vance’s defense “deeply misguided.” They argued that by treating these actual adults as if they were teenagers and handling the matter with kid gloves, Vance contributed to a broader cultural problem of infantilization. The board wrote, “Mr. Vance in particular has blown an opportunity to set a good example for Republicans young and old. Excusing such behavior will only get us more of it. That’s how people actually ruin their lives.”

The board also rejected the notion that these messages could be dismissed as mere “jokes,” stating, “You can learn a lot about people by what they think is funny.”

Despite Vance’s attempts to downplay the issue, many within the Republican Party are condemning the leaked texts. Even Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma, a staunch MAGA supporter, repudiated Vance’s remarks: “I didn’t hear the vice president’s remarks, but I would never let my kids joke like that. That’s a solid no.”

In the wake of the scandal, several operatives have lost their jobs, and the Kansas Young Republicans group, which was heavily involved, was shut down entirely by the state GOP.

The editorial board warned, “To excuse this behavior is to outsource the right’s self-definition to the most vile and discrediting. The prospects for conservatives and Republicans would sour as a result.” They emphasized that “internal hygiene is good politics.”

As a positive example, the board highlighted Winsome Earle-Sears, the GOP candidate for governor of Virginia. Earle-Sears called for everyone involved to “step down from their positions.”

“You don’t need a Telegram account to see that this is a winning approach,” the editorial board concluded.

Viral Video Exposes Democrat Failure: ‘Wake Up and Ask the Right Questions’ [WATCH]

A viral exchange between conservative commentator Jeffery Mead and an unidentified Black woman sparked widespread discussion online this week after both questioned the Democratic Party’s long-standing political hold on Black communities.

The unidentified woman began by pointing to what she described as a noticeable improvement in safety and quality of life under President Donald Trump’s leadership.

“I’m always going to be the person to say it, and I don’t want to be the person to say it, but Donald Trump has been president for nine months, nine months, and I’m seeing videos from Chicago, DC, where people like, Yo, I feel safe. My kids feel safe. This is the best thing he ever did for us,” she said.

She questioned why such change seemed to happen so quickly after years of the same problems under Democrat-controlled leadership.

“So what was happening all these years that this sh*t like, literally, I’ve known DC and Virginia to have this type of sh*t going my whole life, and I’m, I’m in my 40s, okay, almost touching it. So what was really, truly going on if a motherf**ker became president nine months ago and cleared that sh*t out just a flip of the pen. I’m just thinking like, Did y’all really ever care?”

Mead responded that her frustration was justified and pointed to what he believes is a deeper political incentive at play.

“She’s asking the right question, because these areas are controlled by Democrats,” Mead said. “But the best way to understand people is to pay attention to their incentive structures. Democrats are not incentivized for black Americans to do better.”

He elaborated that the Democratic platform thrives on division and dependency.

“If you think about the Democrats platform, it’s about making everybody a victim,” Mead said. “If you’re black, the system’s racist and it’s against you, and we are the people who are going to fix that problem for you. Those Republicans, they’re racist. If you’re gay, they don’t like you because you’re gay. If you’re a woman, they don’t like you because you’re a woman. If you’re an immigrant, they don’t like you because you’re an immigrant.”

According to Mead, the Democratic Party keeps voters loyal by discouraging accountability and promoting the belief that success is limited by systemic forces.

“The reason you’re struggling is because of history, racism in the system. It’s not your decision making. It’s not you making poor decisions,” he said. “But here’s the thing, if they can keep you focused on everything except accountability and your own personal agency, that makes you a perpetual voter for Democrats.”

Mead argued that this dynamic keeps Black Americans politically dependent.

“You will continue to believe that the reason you and your people are not succeeding is because the system is racist and it’s against you, and you believe the Democrats are fighting to fix that system, when in reality, the system is not against you,” he said. “The biggest reason black Americans are now struggling is because of black Americans, our mindsets, our belief systems, the way we go about things. The system is no longer the primary factor. It’s us.”

He warned that genuine progress within the Black community would threaten Democratic dominance.

“If Black Americans start taking accountability, making better decisions and doing better, they will need the Democrats less,” Mead said. “Then the Democrats will actually have to be accountable for getting things done. As long as black people think white people and Republicans are racist, Democrats are like, Oh, we got it locked.”

Mead concluded that real success would force Democrats to change their playbook.

“If Black Americans start doing better and start catching up with the other races, and they start thinking, maybe this place isn’t that racist, Democrats have to have a new talking board,” he said. “They have to do something different to continue to get the black vote. That’s more work, and it’s more dangerous for their political power. So again, it actually works in Democrats favor for black people to continue to struggle. It doesn’t actually help them if they actually fix our problems. So simply put, Democrats are incentivized for black people to continue to struggle.”

WATCH: President Trump Suggests that Brandon Johnson and JB Pritzker May Face Criminal Charges – DHS Sec Kristi Noem Reveals that Portland Police Were Cheering on Antifa’s Calls for Violence with Their “Fists in the Air”, Says Officials Should be Prosecuted

President Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem called for the prosecution of Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker for allegedly perpetuating attacks against law enforcement during a roundtable on ANTIFA at the White House on Wednesday.

As reported by The Gateway Pundit, federal officers from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were recently ambushed by a convoy of roughly ten vehicles in what officials described as a coordinated assault by domestic extremists against law enforcement. Despite the severity of the incident, Chicago police were explicitly ordered to stand down and ignore distress calls from the federal agents.

President Trump asserted that both Governor Pritzker and Mayor Johnson were aware of the orders to stand down. “The governor knew about it, the mayor knew about it,” Trump told reporters, suggesting criminal liability for their actions. On Truth Social, Trump wrote this morning, “Chicago Mayor should be in jail for failing to protect ICE Officers! Governor Pritzker also!”

When asked whether he had requested the Justice Department to investigate possible charges against the mayor and governor, Trump did not provide a direct answer. However, he described the decision to have police stand down as illegal, and deferred to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem for further comment.

Secretary Noem emphatically agreed, stating that elected officials in Illinois “should absolutely be prosecuted.” She also revealed concerning behavior by law enforcement in Portland, Oregon, where ICE officers reportedly witnessed Portland police officers cheering with fists raised alongside ANTIFA protesters who were calling for the murder of ICE agents.

“Noem said, ‘Those kind of individuals who are perpetuating murder should absolutely be prosecuted, in my opinion.’” She recounted that during the Chicago incident, a ten-car caravan trailed ICE officials and pinned them down. When the ICE officers attempted to exit their vehicles, a woman reportedly tried to ram them, resulting in shots being fired to ensure their safety.

Noem highlighted that this pattern of law enforcement complicity with extremist groups is not isolated to Illinois but is also occurring in other states such as Oregon.

In summary, both Trump and Noem condemned the alleged inaction and complicity of local law enforcement and elected officials in enabling attacks against federal agents. They called for accountability and prosecution of those responsible for undermining the safety and security of ICE personnel.

### Key Quotes from the Roundtable:

**Reporter:** “You said the mayor of Chicago and the governor of Illinois should be jailed. Have you asked the Justice Department to look at possible charges?”

**Trump:** “I’ve seen the law, and when you have a group of people where the police call off the safety for ICE officials, I’ve understood that, and I’ve read it today in numerous journals, that that’s illegal. What they did is… I guess it was ICE, Kristi, right? They were under threat, and the police were helping beautifully, it was fine, and then all of a sudden, a woman was on the line, saying, ‘Everybody move back, move back, get out, get out.’ And they were given an order by the second person in the police department, and the governor knew about it, the mayor knew about it. I understand that’s a criminal offense. You want to comment on that, Kristi?”

**Noem:** “Sir, we’re seeing that kind of pattern happen with local law enforcement and state law enforcement, not just in Illinois, but also out in Oregon too. In fact, in Portland, I was there yesterday, but some of the ICE officers were telling me that as they drove by the rioters that were saying, ‘Kill ICE agents, Molotov cocktails melt ICE,’ that the Portland Police were cheering them on and had their fists in the air cheering on the rioters that were threatening their lives.

“So, in Chicago, we had a ten-car caravan trail our ICE officials and pin them down. And those ICE officials to get out of their vehicles, a woman tried to ram them and run them over, and shots were fired to get them to safety. So, it’s happening on a regular basis, and any elected official that allows this to happen and gives cover to those kind of individuals who are perpetuating murder should absolutely be prosecuted, in my opinion.”
