Man United wins chaotic match against Chelsea and Liverpool remains perfect

LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Manchester United secured a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in a chaotic Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Saturday, easing pressure on coach Ruben Amorim.

The match was marked by heated moments as both teams were reduced to 10 men in the first half following red cards for Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez and United midfielder Casemiro. Before his dismissal, Casemiro scored what proved to be the decisive goal for Manchester United. Entering the match, Amorim’s side had managed only one win in their previous four league games.

### Liverpool Remains Perfect

Earlier in the day, defending champions Liverpool extended their perfect start to the season with a 2-1 win against Everton in the fierce Merseyside derby at Anfield.

Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch had an impressive display, scoring one goal and assisting another to help Liverpool improve to a flawless 5-0 record this season.

Despite some sloppy moments in the second half, Liverpool held on after Idrissa Gueye pulled a goal back for Everton. This victory marked Liverpool’s fifth consecutive home win against Everton, their first such streak since 1937.

Everton, meanwhile, have struggled at Anfield in front of fans, failing to secure a win since 1999. Their only victory at the stadium came behind closed doors in 2021 during the pandemic. Everton manager David Moyes remains without a win in 23 games at Anfield spanning his terms with Everton, Manchester United, Sunderland, and West Ham.

Liverpool’s top two summer signings, Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, made appearances as second-half substitutes, entering the pitch in the 61st and 67th minutes respectively.

Gravenberch opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a clinical finish, following a perfectly timed one-hop pass from Mohamed Salah. The defensive midfielder skillfully lifted the ball over Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford with a half volley.

In the 29th minute, Gravenberch set up Hugo Ekitike, who slotted the ball through Pickford’s legs to double Liverpool’s lead. Everton’s Idrissa Gueye responded with a long-range strike after a tap-back from Iliman Ndiaye off Jack Grealish’s cross.

At nearly 36 years old, Gueye became the second oldest Everton player to score in a Merseyside derby, behind 37-year-old Sam Chedgzoy in 1926, according to Opta.

### Pressure Mounting at West Ham

West Ham suffered yet another setback, losing 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace — their fourth defeat in five games under coach Graham Potter.

The former Chelsea boss, who has won only six of 25 games since his January arrival, also endured insulting chants from the London Stadium crowd. When asked about the chants, Potter said, “I didn’t hear it. I understand the frustration, but there’s nothing I can say.”

Potter’s tenure has been under scrutiny since lasting just seven months at Chelsea, with British media speculating about potential replacements including former Nottingham Forest coach Nuno Espirito Santo and West Ham legend Slaven Bilic.

When questioned about his position, Potter commented, “I’ve no reason to think not. But I also understand the environment and the results.”

Tyrick Mitchell scored the winning goal for Palace in the 68th minute after Jean-Philippe Mateta’s opener was canceled out by Jarrod Bowen. West Ham currently sits 18th in the Premier League with just three points.

### Wolves Still Searching for Points

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ situation looks grim following a 3-1 home defeat to Leeds United.

Manager Vitor Pereira, who recently signed a new contract, faces a challenging season as his side remains at the bottom of the table without any points from five games.

Wolves took an early lead through Ladislav Krejci inside eight minutes, but Leeds rallied with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring his first goal for the club after his summer move from Everton. Anton Stach and Noah Okafor added to Leeds’ tally, ensuring a convincing win for the newly promoted team.

### Tottenham Salvage a Draw at Brighton

Tottenham Hotspur showed resilience by coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Brighton looked on course for only their second victory of the season thanks to early goals from Yankuba Minteh and Yasin Ayari. However, Richarlison halved the deficit just before halftime, and an own goal from Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke in the 82nd minute secured a point for Spurs.

This marked the second time this season Brighton has lost a lead late in the game, having conceded a stoppage-time equalizer in their opening 1-1 draw with Fulham.

### Other Results

Nottingham Forest earned their first point under new coach Ange Postecoglou with a 1-1 draw at Burnley.

28 Billion Yen Debt Pushes Fukushima’s Hawaiians Resort Into Foreign Hands

Its main attraction remains the Hula Girls, a troupe of 43 dancers performing three times daily. Next year, the resort will mark its 60th anniversary. The resort is operated by Joban Kosan, a local company.

President Sekine, a Fukushima native who took the helm last year, recalls childhood memories at the park. “I could never go to the real Hawaii, so this place became my Hawaii, filled with family memories,” he said.

Yet, as president, Sekine faced the harsh reality of running a facility under severe financial strain. Hawaiians was forced to close for more than six months following the March 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, which caused extensive damage. Later, the COVID-19 pandemic led to another three-month closure, driving the resort deeper into debt. The combination of these crises left the company burdened with around 28 billion yen in liabilities. On top of that, the aging of the facilities made new investment difficult.

The turning point came last November, when Fortress Investment Group, a US private equity firm managing over 7 trillion yen in assets, launched a takeover. The firm had already made headlines in Japan in 2023 with its acquisition of Sogo & Seibu. Fortress gradually increased its stake in Joban Kosan until it surpassed 85 percent, solidifying control of Hawaiians.

“We were cautious at first, but our aim is genuine revitalization,” said Fortress executive Shunsuke Yamamoto, who spearheaded the acquisition. “Given the current finances, it would be difficult for Hawaiians to thrive for another 50 or 60 years. Many Japanese now travel to the real Hawaii, so this resort needs a bold transformation.”

Fortress is no stranger to hotel turnarounds. It has acquired and revived numerous underperforming resorts across Japan through its subsidiary, MyStays Hotel Management, where Yamamoto serves as chairman. In 2021, it took over most of Japan Post’s Kanpo no Yado inns, rebranding them as Kamenoi Hotels and lifting occupancy rates significantly. Fortress also bought the Hotel New Akao in Atami, transforming its seaside location into a destination for marine activities.

Today, Fortress owns 184 hotels nationwide, making it the sixth-largest operator in the industry. Its strategy combines large-scale capital investment with localized enhancements to maximize each property’s unique strengths.

“There are many excellent facilities across Japan that face closure due to delayed investment. Supporting them is our mission,” Yamamoto said.

For Hawaiians, Fortress has already begun reviewing operations. Yamamoto, who once visited as a guest, returned to inspect every corner of the resort—from the entrance and food courts to the shops—pointing out areas that needed modernization. He has been appointed chairman of Joban Kosan and promises significant investment to ensure the resort’s long-term competitiveness.

At the same time, Fortress has acquired Seagaia Resort in Miyazaki, once a symbol of the bubble economy, with plans to rebuild it as a family-oriented resort. The company’s broader ambition is to reshape how Japanese people travel and to modernize aging resorts across the country.

While many locals welcome the injection of capital, others worry that the unique history and atmosphere of Hawaiians could be lost.

“It’s scary because we don’t know what will happen,” one resident said. “I hope the history and spirit of this place won’t disappear.”

Harish Rao slams Congress over Singareni workers’ bonus

Hyderabad: Former Minister T Harish Rao Accuses Telangana Government of Cheating Singareni Coal Workers Over Dasara Bonus

Former minister T Harish Rao on Monday, September 22, lashed out at the Congress-led Telangana government, accusing it of cheating Singareni coal workers in the name of the Dasara bonus. In a statement, the senior BRS leader alleged that the government has pushed Singareni workers into disappointment by declaring a bonus based on reduced profits.

Government Reduced Distributable Share: Harish Rao

Harish Rao pointed out that instead of considering the total profit of Rs 6,394 crore, the government restricted the bonus calculation to Rs 2,360 crore, which he described as highly condemnable. “They reduced the distributable share, increased the percentages artificially, and deceived workers,” he said.

Recalling the tenure under BRS governance, Harish Rao emphasized that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) ensured workers received a fair share from the net profits. It was under KCR’s leadership that the workers’ share was enhanced from 16 percent to 32 percent.

He criticized the current Congress government for setting aside one-third of the profits and declaring the bonus only on a part of the remaining share, calling this move unjust.

Demand to Pay 34% of Net Profits as Bonus

Harish Rao demanded that the government pay 34 percent of net profits as a bonus to the Singareni workers. He also warned that if injustice continues to be meted out to the workers, he would stand by them and fight for their rights.

Analysis: The contrasting sides of the House of Representatives

Amid intensifying public protests against lawmakers for their behavior and statements that have hurt their voters, the House of Representatives is facing a crisis of confidence.

In this challenging atmosphere, Gerindra Party politician Rahayu Saraswati’s resignation stands out. Unlike other legislators who have left their political futures in the hands of their parties, Saraswati chose to step down on her own terms.

Her decision highlights a stark contrast in accountability and personal responsibility among members of the House during this period of public scrutiny.

EXCLUSIVE: Secrets of Stevie Nicks’ and Lindsay Buckingham’s ‘Lost Album’ As It Gets Re-Release After 50 Years

**Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham’s Legendary Duo Album ‘Buckingham Nicks’ Finally Remastered After More Than 50 Years**

*Published: September 22, 2025, 6:00 p.m. ET*

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham’s first and only duo record, *Buckingham Nicks*, has finally been remastered and reissued more than half a century after its initial commercial failure turned it into one of rock’s greatest cult mysteries. RadarOnline.com has the inside story of the album’s making—and the pair’s infamously fractured relationship.

Originally released in September 1973, just 16 months before Nicks and Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac, the album was a commercial flop. It quickly went out of print and was never made available on CD or legal streaming platforms.

### Why Did The Original Album Disappear?

Despite its failure, the gauzy, 10-track folk-rock set became legendary as the opening chapter of the duo’s creative partnership. The album showcased the vocal harmonies and emotional interplay that would soon reshape Fleetwood Mac.

“It’s like sharing ownership of an old car,” Nicks, now 77, once said of the tangled rights to the album, which were split between herself, Buckingham, and producer Keith Olsen. “The stars never seemed to exactly align.”

For Buckingham, who turns 76 next month, the reasons for the album’s disappearance were less clear. “One of Stevie’s managers has the masters in her house,” he revealed in an interview years later. “Why? Well, because somebody’s got to have them somewhere. The politics of Fleetwood Mac are strange.” He added with a chuckle, “Better hurry up! That’s all I can say.”

### The Long-Awaited Reissue

Those delays have finally ended. Teased in cryptic social media posts earlier this summer, *Buckingham Nicks* is now available on vinyl, CD, and digital formats—sourced from the original analog tapes.

“We knew what we had as a duo,” Nicks writes in new sleeve notes. “It stands up in a way you hope it would.” Buckingham echoed her sentiment, saying, “By these two kids who were pretty young to be doing that work.”

### The Early Days: Two Kids from Menlo-Atherton High

The “two kids” first met at Menlo-Atherton High School in California’s Bay Area in 1966. Buckingham was a champion swimmer and budding guitarist, while Nicks had recently relocated from Arizona. They moved to Los Angeles in 1971 to pursue music, with Nicks surviving on waitressing jobs while Buckingham honed his songwriting skills.

“I believed Lindsey didn’t have to work, that he should just lay on the floor and practice his guitar and become more brilliant every day,” Nicks once said.

### The Making of *Buckingham Nicks* and What Happened Next

The duo recorded *Buckingham Nicks* at Sound City Studios with producer Keith Olsen. Despite strong material—including tracks like “Crystal” and “Frozen Love”—Polydor’s promotion was lackluster. Sales were dismal, and plans for a follow-up album fell apart. One demo from these sessions, “Without You,” was later resurrected on Fleetwood Mac’s 2013 EP *Extended Play*.

Fate intervened on New Year’s Eve 1974 when Mick Fleetwood visited Sound City to audition for the studio. Olsen played him “Frozen Love,” and Fleetwood was captivated by Buckingham’s guitar solo. Buckingham agreed to join Fleetwood Mac only if Nicks came along.

Within three months, the new line-up had recorded the self-titled *Fleetwood Mac*, featuring Nicks’ now-classic songs “Rhiannon” and “Landslide.” The rest, as they say, is history.

### The Birth of *Rumours* and a Turbulent Relationship

The band’s iconic 1977 album *Rumours*, written amid Nicks and Buckingham’s breakup, sold more than 40 million copies and defined an era. Yet the volatility in their relationship never disappeared.

Nicks has said she gave Buckingham “more than 300 million chances,” while he admitted their relationship was “like a marriage without the marriage papers.”

### A Legacy Revisited

Half a century later, the duo have set aside old conflicts to resurrect the album that started it all.

“If we had stayed in San Francisco, we would have still been famous,” Nicks reflected in an earlier interview. “But Fleetwood Mac was our destiny.”

*Buckingham Nicks* is now available in remastered form for new and longtime fans alike to rediscover the origins of one of rock’s most iconic musical partnerships.
