REVEALED: Khushi Kapoor-Karishma Tanna starrer Mom 2 goes on floors; directed by Girish Kohli of Crazxy fame

Earlier this year, in March 2025, at the 25th IIFA Awards held in Jaipur, producer Boney Kapoor confirmed that he is making a film with Khushi Kapoor. He revealed that the project could be a sequel to *Mom* (2017), which starred his late wife and Khushi’s mother, the legendary Sridevi.

It has now come to light that the film is indeed titled *Mom 2*. Yesterday, pictures from the sets surfaced on the internet, sparking excitement among fans. Bollywood Hungama has since learned some interesting details about the film’s progress.

**REVEALED: Khushi Kapoor-Karishma Tanna starrer *Mom 2* goes on floors; directed by Girish Kohli of *Crazxy* fame**

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “*Mom 2* went on floors just after Diwali, on October 26, in Mumbai. Nearly 10 to 11 days of shooting have been completed and the film is progressing well. Khushi Kapoor plays a crucial role, and she’s joined by Karishma Tanna.”

The source further added, “*Mom* was directed by Ravi Udyawar. However, the sequel is directed by Girish Kohli. Girish was one of the story writers for the first film and also solely wrote its screenplay and dialogues. Producer Boney Kapoor felt that Girish was the best fit to do justice to *Mom 2* as he understands the series deeply, so he entrusted him with the directorial responsibilities. Girish has also proved his mettle with the Sohum Shah-starrer *Crazxy*, which released earlier this year.”

There is also buzz that Boney Kapoor plans to announce the film in a grand manner on his birthday, November 11. The source revealed, “A clearer idea about the announcement will emerge in a few days.”

At the 25th IIFA Awards, Boney Kapoor had expressed his admiration for Khushi’s work, saying, “I have watched all of Khushi’s films — *The Archies*, *Loveyapa*, and *Nadaniyaan*. I am planning a film with her too, after *No Entry 2*. It could be *Mom 2*. She is trying to follow in the footsteps of her mother. Her mother was the top star in all the languages she worked in. I hope Khushi and Janhvi succeed with the same level of perfection.”

Meanwhile, fans are eagerly hoping that Boney Kapoor’s other much-anticipated project, *No Entry 2*, the sequel to the 2005 blockbuster *No Entry*, also goes on floors soon.

EXCLUSIVE: Kinky Nicole Kidman’s Movie Revenge Plan — ‘She’s Determined to Film More Sex Flicks As She Knows It Will Wind Up Her Ex’

Oct. 26, 2025, Published 11:00 a.m. ET

Nicole Kidman is planning to take on even more sexually charged film roles following her split from husband Keith Urban – a decision insiders tell RadarOnline.com is both a creative statement and an act of revenge.

The 58-year-old Oscar-winning actor was left “blindsided” last month by her split from Urban, 57, who then filed for divorce after nearly two decades of marriage. Sources close to the couple say the final straw came after Kidman’s provocative turn in Babygirl – a 2023 erotic drama in which she starred opposite 29-year-old Harris Dickinson.

A Role That Rocked Her Marriage

During the film’s press tour, Kidman made headlines for her candor about the intensity of its sex scenes. “There were times when we were shooting where I was like, ‘I don’t want to orgasm anymore. Don’t come near me. I hate doing this. I don’t care if I am never touched again in my life! I’m over it,'” she told journalists at the time.

While the film earned critical praise for Kidman’s performance, it reportedly caused tension at home. Urban, who was notably absent from the film’s premieres, was said to be deeply uncomfortable with his wife’s increasingly explicit on-screen choices.

Embracing Creative Freedom After the Split

Following the breakdown of the marriage, industry insiders say Kidman is “more determined than ever” to continue exploring roles that push boundaries. She is already eyeing new projects that could once again test audiences and collaborators alike.

A source close to the actor said: “Nicole’s not backing down or toning things down because Keith’s no longer in the picture. If anything, she’s pushing further. She’s spent years explaining that her performances are just part of the job – now she’s finished justifying herself. This chapter is about complete creative and personal freedom.”

Freedom After Heartbreak

Friends of the star say the breakup has brought a renewed sense of freedom. One long-time acquaintance shared, “For years, she tried to balance her ambition with her marriage. Now that pressure’s gone. There’s a touch of defiance in her attitude – she knows her choices might irritate him, but that sense of freedom is empowering.”

Sources reveal Kidman had grown “exhausted” trying to manage Urban’s unease about her more sensual performances. Another insider noted, “Keith never told her outright not to take certain roles, but she always knew when something bothered him. That unspoken tension became part of their dynamic. Now she’s turning that energy into her work instead of trying to smooth things over.”

Turning Pain Into Power

That determination is expected to shape her upcoming projects. Kidman recently wrapped filming Practical Magic 2 and is working with Reese Witherspoon on the third season of Big Little Lies, where her character’s story may take a more openly sexual turn.

A production source said: “Nicole’s work has always been rooted in authenticity – emotional, physical and even erotic. She’s not about to soften that just because her marriage is over. If anything, she feels she’s entering her strongest, most self-assured phase yet.”

Rewriting Hollywood’s Rules

The actress, who has previously spoken about her commitment to working with female directors, is also said to see her new focus as part of a broader creative mission. A friend said, “Nicole’s using this moment to remind Hollywood that women in their 50s can still lead stories that are complex, sensual, and commanding. She’s rewriting the rules – and clearly enjoying every second of it.”

Kidman, who shares two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, with Urban, was recently photographed in Paris appearing calm but resolute. Another source added: “She’s pouring her energy into her work and her daughters. There’s no sign of her slowing down – and no more apologies for who she is or what she does on or off screen.”

‘Star Wars’ Tried to Bring Kylo Ren Back to Life in a Steven Soderbergh Movie

We thought we saw the last of Kylo Ren, aka Ben Solo, in Star Wars, but he almost made a surprising comeback.

In a new interview, Adam Driver revealed that he had recruited none other than Steven Soderbergh to make a movie that would have followed the character after *The Rise of Skywalker*. However, the project was ultimately killed off by high-level Disney executives.

“It was called *The Hunt for Ben Solo* and it was really cool,” Driver told the Associated Press. “But it is no more, so I can finally talk about it.”

Driver explained, “I had been talking about doing another [Star Wars movie] since 2021. Kathleen [Kennedy] had reached out. I always said, ‘With a great director and a great story, I’d be there in a second. I loved that character and loved playing him.’”

He then teamed up with his *Logan Lucky* collaborator, the Oscar-winning Steven Soderbergh. Together with writer Rebecca Blunt, they outlined a story which was pitched to Lucasfilm executives. The response was positive enough that they hired Scott Z. Burns, a frequent Soderbergh collaborator, to write the script.

Driver described the script as “one of the coolest (expletive) scripts I had ever been a part of.” With a classic Star Wars character, Lucasfilm’s approval, a killer director, and an exciting script, it seemed like a perfect fit.

So, what went wrong?

“We presented the script to Lucasfilm. They loved the idea. They totally understood our angle and why we were doing it,” Driver said. “We took it to [Disney executives] Bob Iger and Alan Bergman and they said no. They didn’t see how Ben Solo was alive. And that was that.”

It’s worth noting that the character dies four times in *The Rise of Skywalker*, so convincing Disney of his survival was clearly a tough sell.

Driver also emphasized that they wanted the movie to be smaller and more affordable than most other Star Wars films. “We wanted to be judicious about how to spend money and be economical with it and do it for less than most but in the same spirit of what those movies are, which is handmade and character-driven,” he explained. “*Empire Strikes Back* being, in my opinion, the standard of what those movies were. But he [Soderbergh] is, to me, one of my favorite directors of all time. He lives his code, lives his ethics, doesn’t compromise.”

In the same piece, Soderbergh commented, “I really enjoyed making the movie in my head. I’m just sorry the fans won’t get to see it.”

So are we, Steven. So. Are. We.

Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Netflix film ‘Ramree’ shelved over budget issues

**Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Netflix Film ‘Ramree’ Shelved Over Budget Issues**

*By Isha Sharma | Oct 13, 2025 | 09:15 AM*

Siddhant Chaturvedi’s much-anticipated action creature film, tentatively titled *Ramree*, has been shelved by Netflix India due to budget constraints. The project, which was to mark the directorial debut of Neha Sharma (not to be confused with the actor), was also expected to star Mohit Raina alongside Chaturvedi.

**Production Challenges**

A source revealed to Mid-Day, “Work on the film had been going on for over a year. Given the subject and the period setting, it was an expensive project. For an OTT film, this would have set a benchmark in scale and imagination, but budget constraints caught up with it. Even though the platform heads were excited about the story, there was too much at stake financially. So they decided to not move forward with it.”

**Project Details**

Set in 1945, *Ramree* was intended to explore a genre rarely seen in Hindi cinema. The film was planned as a two-hero project and was to be produced by Ajay Devgn. Neha Sharma, who had previously worked on *The Zoya Factor* (2019) and *Tere Bin Laden: Dead or Alive* (2016), was set to make her directorial debut with this ambitious venture.

**Industry Perspective**

Another industry source commented, “‘Ramree’ was an idea in development that did not move forward, a natural part of the creative process where multiple concepts are explored. While some take shape, some don’t.”

Meanwhile, Siddhant Chaturvedi was last seen in *Dhadak 2*, which is now streaming on Netflix.

Jr. NTR exits Dadasaheb Phalke biopic; here’s what we know

**Jr. NTR Exits Dadasaheb Phalke Biopic: What We Know So Far**

*By Apoorva Rastogi | October 9, 2025, 05:16 PM*

Telugu superstar Jr. NTR has reportedly opted out of the much-anticipated Hindi-Telugu biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, widely regarded as the father of Indian cinema. According to reports from Deccan Chronicle, the actor is now focusing on his Telugu film career alongside Prashanth Neel’s upcoming project, *Dragon*.

### Why Did Jr. NTR Exit?

A source close to the project revealed multiple reasons behind Jr. NTR’s decision. Firstly, the actor is currently reluctant to portray a real-life personality, especially a legendary figure from the past.

The source told Deccan Chronicle, “At the moment, NTR doesn’t want to play a real-life character, and that too a legend from the past.”

Secondly, the biopic was set to be directed by S.S. Rajamouli’s son, Karthik Rajamouli, rather than Rajamouli himself, which may have influenced his choice.

Most importantly, Aamir Khan is also working on a separate Dadasaheb Phalke biopic directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The source added, “Doing another of the same serves no purpose.”

### SS Rajamouli’s Biopic Plans

Despite Jr. NTR’s exit and objections raised by Phalke’s grandson, Chandrashekhar Srikrishna Pusalkar, director S.S. Rajamouli is reportedly moving ahead with the biopic project.

Rumors had circulated that actor Prabhas might be approached to play the lead role, but these speculations have been dismissed by sources close to the film.

In related news, there was recent speculation that Aamir Khan requested director Rajkumar Hirani to rewrite his version of the Phalke biopic. However, reports now suggest that the project is proceeding as originally planned.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Dadasaheb Phalke biopic and the casting developments as the project progresses.

*By Apoorva Rastogi | October 9, 2025, 5:16 PM*

Telugu superstar Jr. NTR has reportedly stepped away from the much-anticipated Hindi-Telugu biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, widely regarded as the father of Indian cinema. According to the Deccan Chronicle, the actor has chosen to focus on his Telugu film career and his role in Prashanth Neel’s upcoming film *Dragon*.

### Reasons Behind Jr. NTR’s Decision

A source close to the project revealed multiple factors that influenced Jr. NTR’s exit. Foremost, the actor is currently reluctant to portray a real-life figure, especially a legendary personality from the past. The source told Deccan Chronicle:

> “Firstly, at the moment NTR doesn’t want to play a real-life character, and that too a legend from the past. Secondly, the Phalke biopic was to be directed not by Rajamouli but by his son Karthik. Thirdly and most importantly, Aamir Khan is also working on a Dadasaheb Phalke biopic directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Doing another of the same serves no purpose.”

### SS Rajamouli’s Biopic Plans

Despite Jr. NTR’s departure and objections raised by Dadasaheb Phalke’s grandson Chandrashekhar Srikrishna Pusalkar, ace director SS Rajamouli is proceeding full steam ahead with the biopic project.

There were rumors that Prabhas had been considered for the lead role after NTR’s exit, but those reports have since been clarified and dismissed.

### Updates on Aamir Khan’s Biopic

Meanwhile, speculation had surfaced that Aamir Khan had requested director Rajkumar Hirani to rewrite his version of the Phalke biopic. However, recent reports confirm that Khan’s project is continuing as originally planned.

The race to bring Dadasaheb Phalke’s inspiring story to the big screen continues, with two major Hindi-Telugu productions in the pipeline. Fans eagerly await further announcements regarding casting and production details.

Madhur Bhandarkar objects to Chandni Bar Returns; producers claim legal rights secured

**Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar Raises Objections to Title ‘Chandni Bar Returns’; Producers Claim Legal Rights Secured**

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has raised objections to the use of the title *Chandni Bar Returns* by producer Sandeep Singh and director Ajay Bahl. Bhandarkar, who directed the original *Chandni Bar* (2001) starring Tabu, has filed a complaint with the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA), alleging that the makers of the sequel are using his registered title without consent.

The 2001 drama, which won multiple National Awards and firmly established Bhandarkar’s place in Indian cinema, remains one of his most acclaimed works. In his complaint, he claimed that the title *Chandni Bar* belongs to him and accused Singh and Bahl of proceeding without proper authorization.

Following his grievance, IMPPA has reportedly instructed the makers to halt using the title until the matter is resolved.

### Producers Respond With Legal Clarification

In response, Sandeep Singh’s Legend Studios issued an official statement countering Bhandarkar’s claims, asserting that they hold all necessary rights to proceed with the project. The studio clarified that it acquired the option rights to the title from the original producers of *Chandni Bar*, represented by the late R. Mohan’s wife, Lata Mohan Iyer, who is listed as the proprietor in the Government of India’s Trademark Registry.

Co-producer Vishal Gurnani stated:

> “Sandeep Singh’s Legend Studios has acquired the Option Rights of the said title from the Original Producers, who are also the owners of the Registered Trademark and IP owner of the original cult classic *Chandni Bar* (2001). We want to state that no other banner can legally make the said film. Our IP lawyers are replying to the concerned trade associations and are taking all necessary steps to validate and protect our legal rights.”

The studio also shared the official trademark certificate (Application Number 1662053, Class 41), listing Lata Mohan Iyer as the proprietor, thereby substantiating its claim to the title.

### The Road Ahead for *Chandni Bar Returns*

Despite Bhandarkar’s objection, Legend Studios has confirmed that the sequel is moving forward. The film, directed by Ajay Bahl, is slated for a worldwide release on December 3, 2026.

The makers describe the project as a reimagined sequel that will retain the essence of the original while presenting a modern, gritty narrative for contemporary audiences. Legend Studios maintains that it is committed to honoring the legacy of the 2001 classic while ensuring that the production of *Chandni Bar Returns* remains legally compliant and respectful of its predecessor’s cultural impact.
