ShackStream: The Messenger on The Stevetendo Show! Episode 636

Tonight on The Stevetendo Show, we’re diving back into our playthrough of *The Messenger*. This game feels like a unique blend of old-school platforming, reminiscent of *Ninja Gaiden*, mixed with Metroidvania elements. This is my first time playing *The Messenger*, and so far, I’ve really enjoyed the experience.

One gameplay mechanic I especially like is the ability to jump between 8-bit and 16-bit graphics styles. It adds an engaging visual twist that keeps the gameplay fresh. However, one drawback I’ve noticed is the inability to attack upwards, which can be a bit frustrating at times.

In the last episode, we managed to find more music notes needed to unlock the music box inside the Tower of Time. Tracking down these keys has proven to be quite a challenge, but thankfully, we can save up our currency to pay for hints on their locations, which helps a lot.

It feels like we’re approaching the end of *The Messenger*, though I’ve been wrong about that in past playthroughs. Tune in at 5 p.m. PDT / 8 p.m. EDT to join The Stevetendo Show live for more adventures in *The Messenger*.

How to Rank Up in Nightcap’s Syndicate in Warframe

Nightcap’s Syndicate was introduced in Warframe with The Vallis Undermind update and has quickly become an important faction for players to engage with. Through this Syndicate, you gain access to exclusive rewards such as new weapons, the Nokko Warframe, and crucial Arcane Adapters. However, ranking up with Nightcap’s Syndicate is unique compared to other Syndicates in the game.

Analyzing Mushrooms in Nightcap’s Field Guide

To rank up with Nightcap’s Syndicate, you must analyze various mushrooms featured in his Field Guide. Unlike traditional Syndicates, here you progress by collecting and studying mushroom samples. These samples are gathered by playing Deepmines Bounties, which Nightcap offers in his secret room located within Fortuna.

To find Nightcap’s secret room, turn left as soon as you enter the Fortuna hub. Inside, you can start the Deepmines Bounties that yield the mushroom samples needed to advance through the ranks.

Mushroom Analysis and Syndicate Ranks

The Field Guide contains 16 different mushroom entries, and you must fully analyze a set number of them to reach each Syndicate rank:

Rank 1 (Unknowing): Analyze 1 mushroom
Rank 2 (Curious): Analyze 2 mushrooms
Rank 3 (Seeker): Analyze 6 mushrooms
Rank 4 (Gardener): Analyze 12 mushrooms
Rank 5 (Steward): Analyze all 16 mushrooms

Finding and Sampling Mushrooms

Mushroom patches spawn throughout the Deepmines during bounty missions. You can interact with these patches to collect random mushroom samples. Each mushroom species has stages that require a specific number of samples before you can analyze them fully. Generally, rarer mushrooms require more samples.

To make locating mushrooms easier, consider using the Orokin Eye ability on the Parallax ship, which highlights mushrooms on your HUD during Deepmines missions.

Fully Unlocking Mushrooms

Each mushroom needs to be analyzed three times to be considered “fully unlocked” and count toward your Syndicate rank progression. Completing bonus objectives in Deepmines Bounties can also reward you with bonus samples, so be sure to pay close attention to the mission goals to maximize your sample collection.

Fergolyte can primarily be obtained by completing the new Deepmines Bounties available in Orb Vallis. To start these bounties, head to Fortuna.
