Israel confirms receiving the remains of a soldier killed in Gaza in 2014

**Israel Receives Remains of Soldier Killed in 2014 Gaza Conflict, Closing a Painful Chapter**

*Tel Aviv, Israel (AP)* — Israel on Sunday confirmed it had received the remains of Hadar Goldin, a soldier killed in the Gaza Strip in 2014, closing a painful chapter for the country.

Goldin, 23, was killed two hours after a ceasefire took effect during that year’s war between Israel and Hamas. His family waged a public campaign for 11 years to bring home his remains, and earlier this year, they marked 4,000 days since his body was taken.

Israel’s military had long determined that Goldin had been killed based on evidence found in the tunnel where his remains were taken, including a blood-soaked shirt and prayer fringes. Until now, his remains had been the only ones left in Gaza predating the current war between Israel and Hamas.

The remains of four hostages taken in the Hamas-led attack on October 7, 2023—which sparked the latest conflict—are still in Gaza.

**Significant Development Amid Faltering Truce**

The return of Goldin’s remains represents a significant development in the U.S.-brokered truce, which has faltered amidst the slow return of hostage bodies and skirmishes between Israeli troops and militants in Gaza.

Dozens gathered along intersections to pay their respects as a police convoy transported the remains to the national forensic institute. Later, many more gathered outside the home of Goldin’s parents. They noted the “many disappointments” faced over the years and emphasized that Israel’s military—and “not anyone else”—had brought their son home, an apparent criticism of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

At the weekly Cabinet meeting, Netanyahu acknowledged the prolonged agony endured by Goldin’s family, stating the return would allow them to give him a Jewish burial.

Earlier this year, Israel also recovered the remains of Oron Shaul, another soldier killed in 2014.

**Jared Kushner Returns to Israel to Aid Ceasefire Efforts**

Jared Kushner, U.S. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and a key adviser, has returned to Israel to help advance ceasefire negotiations, according to a source familiar with the matter who requested anonymity due to the visit not being publicly announced.

Kushner was a principal architect of Washington’s 20-point ceasefire plan. The deal, which took effect on October 10, centers on halting the fighting in its first phase, releasing all hostages, and boosting humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Details of the second phase—including deploying an international security force, disarming Hamas, and governing postwar Gaza—have yet to be finalized.

A source close to the negotiations shared that Kushner was working to secure safe passage for 150–200 trapped Hamas militants in exchange for their surrender of weapons after the release of Goldin’s remains.

Israeli media have previously reported that Hamas delayed releasing Goldin’s body, hoping to negotiate safe passage for militants surrounded by Israeli forces in Rafah.

However, Gila Gamliel, Israel’s minister of innovation, science, and technology and a member of Netanyahu’s Likud party, told Army Radio that Israel was not negotiating any deal within a deal.

“There are agreements whose implementation is guaranteed by the mediators, and we shouldn’t allow anyone to come now and play games or reopen the agreement,” she said.

Hamas has made no public comment on a possible exchange for fighters stuck in the so-called “yellow zone,” controlled by Israeli forces, while acknowledging ongoing clashes there.

**A Mother’s Pain and Resilience**

Goldin’s family previously held what his mother, Leah Goldin, described as a “pseudo-funeral,” urged by Israel’s military rabbis. But the lingering uncertainty was like “a knife constantly making new cuts.”

Earlier this year, Leah Goldin told The Associated Press that returning her son’s body held deep ethical and religious importance, representing part of the sacrosanct pact Israel makes with its citizens who are required by law to serve in the military.

“Hadar is a soldier who went to combat and they abandoned him, and they destroyed his humanitarian rights and ours as well,” she said.

Leah also shared that her family often felt alone in their struggle to bring Hadar—a talented artist who had just become engaged—home for burial.

Following the October 7 attack, the Goldin family sought to help hundreds of families whose loved ones were taken into Gaza. Initially, they found themselves shunned as advocacy for the hostages surged.

“We were a symbol of failure,” Leah Goldin recalled. “They told us, ‘We aren’t like you, our kids will come back soon.’”

**Palestinian Remains Returned Amid Hostage Releases**

For each Israeli hostage returned, Israel has reportedly released the remains of 15 Palestinians.

Ahmed Dheir, director of forensic medicine at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, said that the remains of 300 Palestinians have now been returned, with 89 identified.

The October 7 attack killed approximately 1,200 people in southern Israel—mostly civilians—and resulted in 251 people being kidnapped.

On Saturday, Gaza’s Health Ministry reported the number of Palestinians killed in Gaza has risen to 69,176.

The ministry, part of the Hamas-run government and staffed by medical professionals, maintains detailed records that are generally considered reliable by independent experts.

BBC director-general and UK news chief both resign over Trump speech editing scandal

**BBC Director-General Tim Davie Resigns Amid Controversy Over Edited Trump Speech**

The BBC director-general, Tim Davie, resigned on Sunday following criticism over the broadcaster’s editing of a speech by former President Donald Trump, which many said was misleading.

Davie, 58, who has been at the helm of the BBC since September 2020, stepped down after five years leading the corporation. His departure comes amid growing controversy surrounding a BBC Panorama documentary about Trump’s January 6, 2021 speech, delivered shortly before the attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Critics argued that the documentary’s edit was misleading because it omitted a key section of Trump’s speech where he urged supporters to protest peacefully.

The speech at the center of the dispute featured Trump saying, “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.” However, the version aired by the BBC reportedly excluded this line, while retaining the phrase “fight like hell.”

In a letter to staff, Davie stated that his resignation “is entirely my decision.” He acknowledged that “overall the BBC is delivering well, but there have been some mistakes made and as director-general I have to take ultimate responsibility.”

Davie added that he is “working through exact timings with the board to allow for an orderly transition to a successor over the coming months.”

The resignation of Davie follows that of Deborah Turness, head of BBC News and Current Affairs, who also stepped down amid the controversy. Turness said the situation “has reached a stage where it is causing damage to the BBC, an institution that I love,” adding, “As the CEO of BBC News and Current Affairs, the buck stops with me.”

Pressure on the BBC intensified after excerpts from a whistle-blower dossier were published by The Telegraph. The dossier, compiled by Michael Prescott, a communications advisor hired by the BBC to review its editorial standards, criticized various aspects of the broadcaster’s coverage. Specific concerns included the Trump edit, reporting on transgender issues, and alleged anti-Israel bias in the BBC’s Arabic service.

In response to the allegations of bias, Trump’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt described the BBC as “100% fake news” and a “propaganda machine” in an interview.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Leavitt said: “This purposefully dishonest, selectively edited clip by the BBC is further evidence that they are total, 100% fake news that should no longer be worth the time on the television screens of the great people of the United Kingdom.”

Marvel’s Preparing the Avengers for Armageddon

Since we’re months away from 2026, Marvel Comics is hyping up a major event it’s got planned for the Avengers. That event is *Armageddon*, first teased last week as a storyline on par with *Avengers: Disassembled* in terms of significance.

All that’s known so far is that *Captain America* writer Chip Zdarsky will be at the helm, and that *Armageddon* will involve the Origin Boxes seen in the soon-to-end Ultimate Universe. These Origin Boxes created different heroes in the Ultimate universe, such as Spider-Man and Luke Cage. Recently, in the pages of *Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion*, Miles Morales brought several of these boxes over to the main Marvel Universe — a development that’s clearly going to cause some serious problems.

*Armageddon* will also build on threads established in Zdarsky and Valerio Schiti’s current *Captain America* run, which jumps to the present day with its sixth issue. Instead of focusing on a team of super-soldier Captains from other countries, the upcoming story arc sees the return of Nick Fury Jr. and his “smaller, leaner” S.H.I.E.L.D.

This new S.H.I.E.L.D. group consists of just a handful of agents, but Fury has them on hand to retrieve a stockpile of Latverian weapons following the events of *One World After Doom*. This mission puts them at odds with Captain America. Fans can check out designs for the S.H.I.E.L.D. characters and the book’s covers down below.

Speaking about the story change, Zdarsky explained he initially had a “different idea in mind” for the book’s supporting players. However, “when the possibility of a new S.H.I.E.L.D. came along, we just hit the ground running. S.H.I.E.L.D. is Marvel. Bringing them back with a new mandate and scope has been incredibly fun—they’re starting small, but they, and Fury, have big plans.”

In addition to the *Captain America* run, Zdarsky has at least one more story leading up to *Armageddon*: *Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon*. Drawn by Luca Maresca, this four-issue miniseries finds Wolverine fighting the reborn Weapon X program and its new corporate leader, PrimeWarrior. Zdarsky called the miniseries “essential” to *Armageddon*, saying Wolverine will “kick off the end of everything.”

The “Road to Armageddon” officially begins with *Captain America* #6 on January 21, 2026, followed by *Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon* #1 on February 18. The full *Avengers: Armageddon* event will launch that summer.

Black Sox, Ohtani’s interpreter and more: A look at notable sports betting scandals

In 1920, a Chicago grand jury indicted eight members of the Chicago White Sox on charges of fixing the 1919 World Series, an event that became notorious as the “Black Sox Scandal.” White Sox owner Charles Comiskey immediately suspended the eight players, including “Shoeless” Joe Jackson. A year later, they were permanently banned by newly appointed baseball Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis. Although a jury returned a not guilty verdict on all charges, their ban from baseball stood until they were reinstated by Commissioner Rob Manfred in May 2025.

In 1946, Hockey Hall of Famer Babe Pratt was suspended for gambling but was reinstated weeks later. The NHL Board of Governors issued a warning that any further gambling incidents would lead to a lifetime suspension.

Two years later, in 1948, Billy Taylor and Don Gallinger received lifetime bans from the NHL for betting on hockey games.

In 1951, a major scandal erupted when 35 active and former players were accused of fixing at least 86 games spanning from 1947 to 1951. Among those implicated were four members of the Adolph Rupp-coached Kentucky Wildcats, accused of taking bribes from gamblers ahead of an NIT game against Loyola during the 1948-49 season. An NCAA investigation uncovered several violations, ultimately leading to the cancellation of Kentucky’s 1952-53 season.

The 1980 “Totonero” match-fixing scandal in Italian soccer resulted in the relegation of two teams and penalties for five others. Notably, Paolo Rossi was banned for two years due to his involvement while playing for Perugia.

In 1981, former Boston College basketball player Rick Kuhn and four others, including New York mobster Jimmy Burke, were convicted for conspiring to fix basketball games during the 1978-79 season.

Tulane University suspended its basketball program in 1985 amid point-shaving and other allegations. The program resumed play in the 1989-90 season.

Pete Rose, baseball’s all-time hits leader with 4,256 hits, agreed to a lifetime ban in 1989 after an MLB investigation found he bet on the Cincinnati Reds between 1985 and 1987 while serving as player and manager. Rose died in 2024 still ineligible for induction into Cooperstown, but in May 2025, Commissioner Rob Manfred changed MLB’s eligibility rules, clearing the path for Rose’s Hall of Fame consideration.

In 1996, thirteen Boston College football players were suspended for gambling, including two who bet against their own team in a 45-17 loss to Syracuse. Coach Dan Henning resigned after alerting school officials about the betting allegations. No evidence of point-shaving was found.

Philadelphia Flyers coach Rick Tocchet was placed on two years of probation in 2007 after pleading guilty to conspiracy and promoting gambling while serving as an assistant coach with the Phoenix Coyotes. He was reinstated by the NHL the following year. The investigation, known as “Operation Slapshot,” also implicated several players, Wayne Gretzky’s wife Janet Jones, and Gretzky’s former agent and then-Coyotes GM Michael Barnett.

In 2008, NBA referee Tim Donaghy pleaded guilty to wire fraud for transmitting inside betting information in exchange for thousands of dollars. He was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison.

Former Wales men’s rugby captain Rob Howley was suspended for 18 months in 2019 after it was revealed he made 363 bets, including on Wales’ Six Nations Grand Slam decider against Ireland. He was sent home on the eve of the Rugby World Cup where he was an assistant coach.

England defender Kieran Trippier was banned for 10 weeks in 2021 after providing insider information on his transfer to friends who then bet on the outcome.

At least 15 NFL players have been suspended for gambling violations since 1963. The earliest included Hall of Famers Paul Hornung and Alex Karras, who were suspended for betting on league games. Since 2022, at least 12 players have faced suspensions for betting. Notably, Atlanta Falcons receiver Calvin Ridley was banned for an entire season for betting on NFL games while away from the team for mental health reasons. Indianapolis Colts players Isaiah Rodgers Sr., Rashod Berry, and Demetrius Taylor were suspended indefinitely and released for betting on NFL games but were eventually reinstated.

In May 2023, Brazil’s lower house of Congress launched an investigation into a soccer match-fixing scandal involving players who allegedly secured bookings and penalties in exchange for bribes. This marked the third such probe in the country.

Six-time major champion golfer Phil Mickelson was alleged in 2023 to have wagered more than $1 billion over three decades, according to a book by gambler Billy Walters. Walters also claimed Mickelson intended to place a $400,000 bet on the 2012 Ryder Cup, which Mickelson denied, though he acknowledged his gambling crossed the line into addiction and has since stopped.

In 2023, soccer players Ivan Toney (Brentford), Sandro Tonali (Newcastle), and Nicolò Fagioli (Juventus) all served gambling bans. Fagioli received a seven-month ban from the Italian Soccer Federation, while Tonali was banned for 10 months the previous year for betting on teams he played for.

The NHL suspended Ottawa Senators forward Shane Pinto for 41 games in October 2023 due to sports gambling violations. The league clarified there was no evidence Pinto bet on hockey games. Pinto declined to comment when rejoining the Senators in January 2024.

In March 2024, the Los Angeles Dodgers fired Ippei Mizuhara, interpreter and close friend of star Shohei Ohtani, after reports surfaced of Mizuhara’s ties to an illegal bookmaker. Three months later, Mizuhara pleaded guilty to bank and tax fraud for stealing nearly $17 million from Ohtani’s account to cover gambling debts, baseball card purchases, and medical bills. He exploited language barriers to deceive Ohtani’s financial advisers and even impersonated Ohtani to the bank.

Toronto Raptors forward Jontay Porter was banned for life from the NBA in April 2024 following a league probe that found he disclosed confidential health information to sports bettors and wagered on games, including bets against his own team. Commissioner Adam Silver described Porter’s actions as “blatant.” The investigation uncovered a large $80,000 bet linked to Porter’s performance in a March 20 game against Sacramento, which could have paid out $1.1 million.

In June 2024, San Diego Padres infielder Tucupita Marcano became the first active MLB player banned for life in over a century after being discovered to have placed 387 bets totaling more than $150,000 with a legal sportsbook in 2022 and 2023. Additionally, Oakland Athletics pitcher Michael Kelly received a one-year suspension for baseball betting in the minor leagues. Three other minor leaguers—San Diego’s Jay Groome, Arizona’s Andrew Saalfrank, and Philadelphia’s José Rodríguez—also received one-year bans for betting on major league games, each wagering less than $1,000. Saalfrank and Rodríguez had prior major league experience.

In February 2025, MLB umpire Pat Hoberg was fired for sharing his legal sports gambling accounts with a friend who bet on baseball and for deleting electronic messages relevant to the league’s investigation. While no evidence showed Hoberg personally bet on games or manipulated outcomes, his friend made 141 baseball bets, including eight involving games Hoberg umpired. MLB senior vice president Michael Hill recommended the firing, with Commissioner Manfred upholding the decision. Hoberg, known as one of the best strike zone umpires, is eligible to apply for reinstatement no earlier than spring training 2026.

In June and July 2025, MLB placed Cleveland Guardians pitchers Luis Ortiz and Emmanuel Clase on paid leave amid a sports betting investigation. Ortiz was linked to unusual betting activity on specific pitches during games in Seattle and St. Louis. Clase was placed on leave three weeks later. On November 9, both were indicted on charges of accepting bribes to provide bettors with advance notice of pitch types and intentionally throwing balls instead of strikes to influence bets.

The NCAA announced in September 2025 it was investigating possible sports betting violations involving 13 former men’s basketball players from Eastern Michigan, Temple, Arizona State, New Orleans, North Carolina A&T, and Mississippi Valley. By November, six players had their eligibility revoked. The NCAA’s integrity monitoring and sources flagged suspicious text and social media messages revealing betting on and against their own teams, sharing information with bettors, outcome manipulation, and refusal to cooperate. In related cases, three players from Fresno State and San Jose State were found guilty of manipulating game outcomes and permanently lost eligibility.

In October 2025, a major gambling scandal unfolded involving 31 individuals, including Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier, and former player and coach Damon Jones. Billups, the 2004 NBA Finals MVP, was charged with conspiracy to fix high-stakes card games connected to La Cosa Nostra organized crime families, resulting in at least $7 million in losses to unsuspecting gamblers. Rozier faced separate charges related to exploiting private player information to win NBA bets, alongside money laundering and wire fraud conspiracy charges. Damon Jones was implicated in both schemes and has pleaded not guilty.

Pepe Coin Price Prediction: DeepSnitch AI Attracts $500K in Investments with 45% Surge

**Web3 Gaming and DeFi Dominate dApp Activity in October Despite TVL Slump**

Despite a dip in total DeFi value locked (TVL), DappRadar reported that Web3 gaming and DeFi sectors dominated decentralized application (dApp) activity in October. Accounting for 28% and 18.4% of user activity respectively, these sectors continue to prove they remain the backbone of the Web3 ecosystem.

Daily wallet activity experienced a slight decline of just 3%, dropping to 16 million active wallets last month. However, NFT trading volume surged by 30%, indicating that users are staying engaged despite broader market cooling.

### DeepSnitch AI Leading the AI Breakout Trend in Crypto

### Pepe Coin Price Prediction: PEPE Gears Up for a 350% Rally

PEPE is showing signs of resurgence after bouncing off the key $0.0000052 support level on November 7. This support previously triggered a 350% rally in late 2024, fueling optimism among meme coin enthusiasts.

Over the past year, PEPE experienced a 40% drop, and funding rates hit multi-month lows, suggesting the market may have reset. Open interest has fallen to $200 million—the lowest level in a year—as most weak hands have exited.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is hovering near 30, indicating oversold conditions and a potential reversal ahead. Daily trading volume remains around $300 million, and historically, quiet periods like this have sparked significant moves for PEPE.

Should momentum return, $0.000012 is the first target, while a breakout could push the price toward $0.000028.

### Dogwifhat (WIF) May Reach $4 in Coming Weeks

On November 7, Dogwifhat (WIF) held steady near $0.43, even as other meme coins slipped. The price is currently testing its long-term ascending trendline, a zone known for attracting strong buying interest.

A descending triangle pattern is nearing completion after three weeks of tightening price action. The $0.43 level has become a critical retest zone, viewed by many traders as the final squeeze before a potential breakout.

Previous bounce zones labeled “Buying Opportunity #1” and “Buying Opportunity #2” suggest sellers might be losing momentum. If WIF breaks resistance decisively, it could rally to $0.70 or even $1.00, with some bulls eyeing a target as high as $4.

### Closing Thoughts

The AI and crypto narrative is still in its early stages, with the sector projected to grow 25-fold over the next few years. Whales are rotating capital quickly, and DeepSnitch AI is well-positioned to ride this momentum.

Currently priced at just $0.022, DeepSnitch AI offers investors a rare asymmetric upside opportunity—one typically only seen in crypto’s earliest phases.

For the latest updates, visit the official DeepSnitch AI website, join their Telegram community, and follow them on X (formerly Twitter).

China’s CPI Rises 0.2% in October, Signaling Potential Consumer Recovery

**China’s October Inflation Data and Its Impact on Cryptocurrency Markets**

China’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.2% year-on-year in October, marking the first positive reading since June and the strongest since January, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics. This modest rise breaks months of deflationary trends and signals a potential boost in confidence across Asian markets. Given China’s significant role in cryptocurrency trading, this shift may indirectly support assets like Bitcoin by reducing broader economic uncertainty.

**Understanding the CPI Increase**

On a monthly basis, China’s CPI also climbed 0.2%, surpassing economist forecasts of flat growth. This increase was largely driven by heightened spending during the National Day and Mid-Autumn holidays on travel, dining, and consumer goods. While food prices — a key inflation driver — dropped 2.9% year-on-year, they saw a slight 0.2% increase compared to September, indicating tentative stabilization in this category.

Dong Lijuan, chief statistician at the National Bureau of Statistics’ urban division, credited supportive policies aimed at expanding domestic demand, which were amplified by holiday-related consumption. Such initiatives could help sustain consumer spending momentum, potentially fostering a more predictable economic environment beneficial to digital assets.

**Producer Price Index and Manufacturing Challenges**

Despite the modest consumer inflation, producer prices in China fell 2.1% year-on-year in October, continuing a three-year trend of negative wholesale pricing. This decline was slightly less severe than the expected 2.2% drop. The manufacturing sector faces ongoing pressures including overcapacity and weak demand, with a recent survey showing a sharper-than-anticipated contraction in manufacturing activity to a six-month low. Sub-indexes tracking new orders, production, employment, and inventories all weakened, reflecting continuing challenges.

This environment directly impacts the energy-intensive cryptocurrency mining sector, which has historically been dominant in China. Although producer prices edged up 0.1% monthly, persistent factory-level deflation raises operational costs for miners, particularly those reliant on industrial electricity rates. Analysts from Bloomberg suggest such structural issues may push more mining operations to relocate to regions offering lower energy costs, influencing the global distribution of Bitcoin’s hashrate.

**Trade Truce and Policy Developments**

On October 30, a trade truce agreement between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea eased some risks of escalating trade tensions. This development could reduce volatility in global markets, including cryptocurrencies.

Beijing has also emphasized that its forthcoming five-year economic plan will focus on “vigorously boosting consumption.” This strategy aims to better balance domestic demand with sustained investment, potentially creating a more stable environment for cryptocurrency adoption beyond speculative trading.

In another significant move, China’s Ministry of Commerce announced a temporary suspension of export controls on dual-use items—such as gallium, germanium, antimony, and superhard materials—effective immediately until November 27, 2026. This pause delays previously planned restrictions targeting material exports to the U.S., which were linked to military applications, potentially easing supply chain tensions.

**Frequently Asked Questions**

**What Does China’s CPI Uptick Mean for Bitcoin Prices?**
The 0.2% year-on-year increase suggests easing deflation, which may stabilize investor confidence in Asia and enhance Bitcoin’s appeal as a safe-haven asset in the region. Given China’s influence on global crypto volumes, this could reduce selling pressure. However, broader factors such as U.S. policy will continue playing a decisive role.

**How Might Trade Truces Influence Cryptocurrency Adoption in China?**
The recent trade détente lowers immediate tariff concerns, encouraging Chinese companies to explore blockchain technology—especially for supply chain transparency. This aligns with Beijing’s push to boost domestic consumption and may gradually support the integration of cryptocurrencies into practical, non-speculative applications.

**Key Takeaways**

– **Slight Inflation Recovery:** The 0.2% CPI increase signals positive momentum and may improve crypto market sentiment in Asia by alleviating deflation fears.
– **Producer Price Pressures:** A 2.1% annual decline underscores manufacturing difficulties, raising operational costs and fueling potential relocation of crypto mining operations.
– **Policy and Trade Shifts:** Holiday spending boosts and the suspension of export controls provide short-term relief, with policymakers aiming to encourage consumption-driven growth that could favor stable crypto investment environments.

**Conclusion**

China’s October inflation data paints a picture of tentative economic improvement, ending a protracted deflationary period and providing cautious optimism for crypto investors. While manufacturing challenges and producer price declines continue to weigh on the industrial landscape, supportive government policies and easing trade tensions offer potential pathways for stability and growth. Cryptocurrency markets, particularly those linked to or influenced by Asia, would benefit from closely monitoring these ongoing developments to navigate opportunities and risks effectively.

Napoli Player Ratings vs Bologna: Disjointed Partenopei Falter Again

Napoli slumped to a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Bologna in their last Serie A match before November’s international break. More than the result, the visitors’ performance at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara raised serious concerns about their Scudetto hopes.

Today’s disjointed display in Emilia-Romagna marked Napoli’s third consecutive scoring blank in all competitions, following a pair of scoreless draws against Como and Eintracht Frankfurt. With that in mind, the international break comes at an opportune moment for Antonio Conte’s side. However, there’s something awfully wrong at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, as witnessed by today’s game.

Bologna had Napoli on the ropes in the first half but couldn’t find a way past Vanja Milinkovic-Savic. Yet, Thijs Dallinga put them in front at the start of the second half with a delicate finish. Despite falling behind, Napoli failed to find their rhythm or make any sustained pressure on Bologna. Instead, Vincenzo Italiano’s side doubled their advantage through Jhon Lucumi, who outjumped Amir Rrahmani after a superb cross from Emil Holm.

Without further ado, let’s look at our player ratings.

### Napoli (4-3-3)

**Vanja Milinkovic-Savic – 6/10**
Despite making a couple of vital saves before Dallinga’s opener, his effort was in vain as his defenders let him down too many times today.

**Giovanni Di Lorenzo – 4/10**
Comfortably beaten by Nicolo Cambiaghi, who then set up Dallinga for the goal, the Napoli captain endured a forgettable afternoon at Dall’Ara.

**Amir Rrahmani – 2/10**
In addition to losing track of the Dutch striker in that fateful 50th minute, the Kosovo international allowed Lucumi to score a free header and put the game to bed.

**Alessio Buongiorno – 5/10**
Despite faring slightly better than his centre-back partner, the Italian’s poor anticipation helped Lucumi beat Milinkovic-Savic, as he let the ball fly over him.

**Miguel Gutierrez – 6/10**
Except for one promising-looking run in the second half, the former Girona left-back had no impact in the front third, though he fared reasonably well against Riccardo Orsolini.

**Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa – 4/10**
The Cameroonian lacked his usual energy and flair, which was part of the reason Napoli lost the midfield battle today.

**Stanislav Lobotka – 5/10**
Like his colleague, the diminutive playmaker failed to provide a spark from deep in the midfield, though his work rate and positional discipline prevented Napoli’s further collapse.

**Scott McTominay – 5/10**
One of the Scottish star’s weakest performances in the Napoli shirt, as he struggled to impose himself physically or contribute meaningfully in either phase of play.

**Elif Elmas – 6/10**
The versatile forward was Napoli’s liveliest performer today, yet his final touch let him down, often undoing all the good work he produced.

**Matteo Politano – 4/10**
Almost invisible for most of the game, the left-footed winger never threatened Bologna’s goal, making it easy for Juan Miranda to keep him quiet throughout the contest.

**Rasmus Hojlund – 3/10**
Completely cut off from the rest of the team, the ex-Atalanta striker was a marginal figure at Dall’Ara, frequently being overlooked in the build-up while never getting a chance to test Massimo Pessina.

### Substitutes

**David Neres – 4/10**
**Noa Lang – 3/10**
**Mathias Olivera – 5/10**
**Juan Jesus – 6/10**
**Lorenzo Lucca – N/A**

Napoli will hope to regroup during the upcoming international break and address the issues that surfaced in this encounter. Their inability to score and the defensive lapses witnessed at Bologna must be urgently resolved if they are to keep pace in the Serie A title race.

BBC director general and News CEO resign over Trump documentary edit

**Tim Davie Resigns as BBC Director General Following Controversy Over Panorama Documentary**

*By Aleks Phillips | BBC News | 9 November 2025*

Tim Davie has resigned as the director general of the BBC amid criticism that a Panorama documentary misled viewers by editing a speech by former US President Donald Trump.

Deborah Turness, the head of News at the corporation, has also stepped down over the issue.

Davie had held the top job for five years but recently faced increasing pressure following a series of missteps and allegations of bias within the organisation.

The controversy arose after The Telegraph published details of a leaked internal BBC memo suggesting that the Panorama programme edited two parts of Trump’s speech together to make it appear as though he explicitly encouraged the Capitol Hill riots of January 2021.

Announcing his resignation on Sunday evening, Davie said:
“Like all public organisations, the BBC is not perfect, and we must always be open, transparent and accountable. While not being the only reason, the current debate around BBC News has understandably contributed to my decision. Overall the BBC is delivering well, but there have been some mistakes made and as director general I have to take ultimate responsibility.”

In his speech in Washington, D.C., on 6 January 2021, Trump said:
“We’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women.”

However, in the Panorama edit, he appeared to say:
“We’re going to walk down to the Capitol” and referred to a “propaganda machine,” implying different intentions than the original speech.

The decision by Davie to step down marks a significant moment for the BBC as it navigates challenges related to editorial integrity and public trust.
