Rams icon Aaron Donald’s ‘special’ message before Week 12 celebration

The Los Angeles Rams are preparing for one of the most emotional nights of the season. They will honor legendary defensive tackle Aaron Donald during their Week 12 home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The tribute will be complete with a video presentation, a commemorative bobblehead, and a special on-field ceremony. It will celebrate the legacy of one of the greatest defenders the NFL has ever seen. Ahead of the event, Donald reflected on what the moment means to him, saying, “I always say I feel like LA adopted me. When you know how hard you worked to put yourself in a certain position. It’s pretty special.” For Rams fans, it’s a chance to salute a player who defined an era. For Donald, it’s a meaningful reminder of the bond he built with a franchise and an entire city. Donald’s recognition comes after a decade-long career unlike any other. Selected 13th overall by the St. Louis Rams in the 2014 NFL Draft, he overcame early doubts to become the most disruptive defensive tackle in football. Donald immediately proved his rare mix of explosiveness, leverage, and technique made him a matchup nightmare for offensive linemen. He won the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award that same season. Donald earned Pro Bowl honors in all 10 of his NFL seasons. It’s a testament to his unparalleled consistency and dominance at his position. When the franchise relocated to Los Angeles in 2016, Donald became the face of the franchise’s resurgence. He embodied toughness, excellence, and a relentless work ethic. Donald’s career reached iconic status as he captured three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards (2017, 2018, 2020). In doing so, he joined an elite group that includes Lawrence Taylor and JJ Watt. Perhaps Donald’s most defining moment came, though, in Super Bowl LVI. That’s when his game-sealing pressure on Joe Burrow secured the Rams’ first championship in Los Angeles. That play cemented his legacy not just as a defensive great, but as a franchise savior. Donald retired in March 2024. He left behind a résumé that places him firmly among the greatest defensive players of all time. Week 12’s tribute is a celebration of a decade of dominance, leadership, and unforgettable moments that shaped modern Rams history.

Cristiano Ronaldo set for record 6th World Cup as Portugal routs Armenia to qualify

Cristiano Ronaldo is heading to another World Cup. Portugal sealed its place at next year’s tournament, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with a resounding 9-1 rout of Armenia on Sunday.

Ronaldo missed the match in Porto due to suspension, but in his absence, Portugal ensured he would have the chance to appear at a record sixth World Cup. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will be 41 by the time the tournament kicks off next June. Ronaldo recently stated that this would be his last shot at winning the one major title that has so far eluded him.

Assuming he retains his fitness, Ronaldo is expected to be part of coach Roberto Martinez’s squad. However, he may yet face suspension for up to two matches after being sent off in Portugal’s 2-0 loss to Ireland on Thursday.

That surprising defeat meant Portugal had to beat Armenia to secure the top spot in Group F. Hat tricks from Bruno Fernandes and Joao Neves ensured there would be no slip-up. Hungary had the chance to overtake Portugal at the top of the group but fell to a stunning late comeback from Ireland, losing 3-2 in Budapest.

Troy Parrott was the hero for Ireland, scoring a hat trick that included an equalizer in the 80th minute and the winner in the sixth minute of added time. Ireland’s victory meant they finished in second place and will advance to the playoffs.

### History Makers

Ronaldo and his great rival Lionel Messi will both appear at their sixth World Cup if they participate in next year’s tournament. This achievement would surpass greats like Germany’s Lothar Matthäus, who appeared in five World Cups.

Defending champion Argentina has already secured its place. Messi fulfilled his career-long ambition by leading Argentina to the title in Qatar in 2022.

Ronaldo, who has won the European Championship and two Nations League titles with Portugal, is still seeking to add a World Cup to an impressive trophy haul that includes five Champions League titles and league championships in England, Spain, and Italy.

Though nearing the end of his career and having left top-flight European soccer to play in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo continues to embellish his remarkable legacy. He led Portugal to the Nations League title earlier this year and last month became the leading scorer in World Cup qualifying games with 41 goals.

Suspension denied him the chance to add to that tally against Armenia, but there was no shortage of goals from Portugal in his absence. Fernandes’ hat trick included two penalties. Neves struck twice in the first half and completed his treble with a goal in the 81st minute.

### Ireland’s Comeback

It was an unforgettable week for Ireland, capped off with a dramatic fightback in Hungary and a spot in the playoffs. Parrott’s late winner was his fifth goal in two games and sealed second place for the Irish.

He scored both goals in the 2-0 win over Portugal and, with Ireland trailing 2-1 going into the 80th minute at the Puskás Arena, he proved his country’s hero once again. First, he lifted the ball over Hungary goalkeeper Dénes Dibusz to level the match at 2-2. Then, with the clock running down, he converted from close range deep into added time for the winner.

‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ cast reunites for 30th anniversary CBS special – see the beloved sitcom’s stars then-and-now

All These Years Later, Everybody Still Loves Raymond

The cast of “Everybody Loves Raymond” recently reunited to celebrate the beloved sitcom’s 30th anniversary. In anticipation of this milestone event, CBS has shared all-new photos featuring Ray Romano alongside co-stars Brad Garrett, Patricia Heaton, Monica Horan, Madylin Sweeten, Sullivan Sweeten, and series creator Phil Rosenthal. These images highlight just how much time has passed since the show’s premiere back in 1996.

Sadly, some key members are absent from the reunion photos. Doris Roberts, Peter Boyle, and Sawyer Sweeten — all of whom passed away in the years following the sitcom’s 2005 finale — are missed dearly.

### The 30th Anniversary Reunion Special

Last month, CBS announced that the cast would return to Long Island for the “Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion” special. Scheduled to air on Monday, November 24, the event will be hosted by Romano and Rosenthal, with appearances by Garrett, Heaton, Horan, and the Sweeten siblings.

In the hit series, Brad Garrett portrayed Ray’s brother Robert Barone; Patricia Heaton played Ray’s wife Debra; Monica Horan played Robert’s wife Amy; Madylin Sweeten portrayed Ray and Debra’s daughter Ally; and Sullivan Sweeten portrayed their son Michael.

“Twenty years since the show’s finale episode, audiences are invited back to the recreated Barone living room for an unforgettable evening with America’s favorite family,” CBS announced on October 1st. The network also promised candid conversations with the former stars, along with never-before-seen outtakes and commentary from the show.

### Honoring Beloved Cast Members

The special will honor Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle, who portrayed the iconic Barone parents, Marie and Frank. Boyle passed away in 2006 at the age of 71, while Roberts died in 2016 at 90. Sawyer Sweeten, who played Ray and Debra’s son Geoffrey, tragically died by suicide in April 2015 at the age of 19.

“Cast, crew, and special guests will share heartfelt reflections on how this dynamic duo redefined the roles of interfering mother-in-law and couch-potato dad into lovable pillars of the Barone family,” CBS shared.

### A Look Back at “Everybody Loves Raymond”

“Everybody Loves Raymond” premiered on September 13, 1996, and ran for nine successful seasons until its finale in May 2005. The show earned 69 Emmy nominations and won 15, including awards for Romano, Heaton, Roberts, and Garrett. It also won Outstanding Comedy Series twice, in 2003 and 2005.

### Reboot Rumors Put to Rest

While some fans have hoped for a reboot or sequel to “Everybody Loves Raymond,” Romano put those rumors to rest during the sitcom’s 30th anniversary celebration at the Paley Museum in New York City this past June.

“No, there won’t be a reboot,” Romano, 67, told The Post exclusively. “The obvious is Peter and Doris and one of the kids — they’re no longer with us. We’re all heartbroken. They’re a big part of the show, the dynamic. Without them, I don’t know what the dynamic is. We love the show too much, we respect it too much to even try to do it.”

Brad Garrett echoed similar sentiments during the premiere of Disney Pixar’s “Elio” in Los Angeles over the summer. “There is no show without the parents,” he told People. “They were the catalyst, and to do anything that would resemble that wouldn’t be right to the audiences or to the loyal fan base. And it was about those two families, and you can’t get around that.”

“I know [the reboot] won’t happen, but 30 years later, I got very lucky to get on that bus,” Garrett, 65, added. “I’m very grateful.”

### Watch the Special

Don’t miss “Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion,” airing Monday, November 24 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. The event will also be available to stream on Paramount+. Join the cast as they revisit the Barone family’s unforgettable legacy and share behind-the-scenes moments with fans around the world.

JD Vance holding Q&A alongside Erika Kirk at Ole Miss Turning Point USA event

Vice President JD Vance is set to take questions at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi on Wednesday in honor of his late friend, Charlie Kirk.

Vance will be joined by Turning Point USA President Erika Kirk, Kirk’s widow, as part of the “This Is the Turning Point” campus tour. Erika Kirk is expected to introduce Vance before he takes questions and holds discussions with students in the style popularized by her husband.

Admission to the event is free, but participants are required to register in advance before attending, with students receiving priority entry. Attendees will also go through what organizers described as “TSA-style screening and magnetometer checks” once the doors open at 3 p.m. CT. The event is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. CT.

Fox News will air the event live from the Ole Miss campus on “Jesse Watters Primetime.” The full event will also be streamed live on Fox Nation, followed by the premiere of a multipart limited-edition documentary series on Friday, Nov. 7, featuring behind-the-scenes footage.

Erika Kirk commented, “She’s ready, and so is Vice President Vance, to make this a truly unforgettable evening.”

Vance confirmed he would be appearing at Ole Miss as part of the organization’s campus tour during a special appearance on “The Charlie Kirk Show” earlier this month. “Part of keeping Charlie’s memory alive is keeping the mission alive,” Vance said. “And nobody can replace Charlie, but if we all just sort of take little pieces, we can do as much as we can to ensure that Charlie’s mission continues to survive long after he’s gone. And part of that is these college campus tours.”

Vance was a close friend of the conservative activist, who was assassinated last month on the campus of Utah Valley University.

“I think that engagement is something that was such a big part of Charlie’s legacy,” Vance added. “It’s not just that he went and talked to people or talked about issues he cared about. It’s that he actually interacted with people.”

The Ole Miss event is the only Turning Point USA event that Erika Kirk will attend on the campus tour. She will later conduct her first sit-down interview since her husband’s assassination with Fox News host Jesse Watters, set to air on Nov. 5.

Why Clint Eastwood Agreed To Star In Dirty Harry After Paul Newman Rejected It

Clint Eastwood is a Hollywood legend whose career has spanned parts of eight decades. During that time, he’s appeared in more movies and TV shows than we can count, including plenty of incredible Westerns. But one role that made him an instant pop culture icon was the lead in 1971’s *Dirty Harry*, where he played a disgruntled cop with a big gun who takes on criminals while pushing at the edge of the law.

Eastwood, however, wasn’t the first choice for Harry Callahan. He only took the part after Paul Newman declined because he didn’t agree with the film’s message.

“[‘Dirty Harry’] was offered by an executive who said that Paul Newman had told him about it and had said it’s a great script, but he couldn’t do it,” Eastwood said in a 1992 interview for *Rolling Stone*. According to Eastwood, Newman turned down the role because of the political ramifications of a police officer violating a criminal’s civil rights.

Eastwood was happy to take the part, but not because he agreed with the film’s politics.

“It’s a lot more challenging for me to play someone who I really have nothing in common with. That to me is acting,” Eastwood explained. “And the fact that people think you really are someone is really not an uncomplimentary thing. Because if you’ve affected them that much that they think you are this guy and that you have this guy’s philosophy, then you have done your job.”

Some actors are known for their most famous movie lines, and thanks to the role of Harry Callahan, Clint Eastwood has at least two unforgettable quotes, even if one is from a less memorable movie.

In the same *Rolling Stone* interview, he recalled how, as soon as he read it in the script, he knew that “Go ahead, make my day” was going to be his new catchphrase. But what he didn’t know was just how popular the phrase from the fourth *Dirty Harry* film, 1983’s *Sudden Impact*, would become.

“I didn’t know it would go like it did,” he said. “People flew banners with it here, above the golf course. After a while, I really got sick of hearing it.”

In a separate interview with *Esquire* magazine in 2008, Eastwood was once again asked about “make my day.” The actor admitted he saw it coming because it had happened before.

“I kind of had a feeling ‘make my day’ would resonate, based upon ‘Do you feel lucky, punk?’ in [*Dirty Harry*]. But ‘make my day’ was just so simple. I still get it a lot.”

YouTube rolls out an AI feature to protect creators from deepfakes

YouTube Launches Likeness Detection Tool to Combat AI-Generated Deepfakes

As AI-generated videos, including elaborate deepfakes, become increasingly common, concerns around the misuse of personal likenesses grow. While AI has yet to solve humanity’s greatest challenges, it’s certainly raising new ones—like unauthorized use of creators’ faces in misleading content. In response, YouTube has officially launched a new tool designed to help creators protect their likenesses from AI-generated “slop.”

**What Is the YouTube Likeness Detection Tool?**

YouTube’s new AI likeness detection tool enables creators to identify AI-generated or altered videos featuring their facial likeness without permission. This feature empowers creators to manage these unauthorized uses and to request removal of the offending videos.

The goal is clear: to help creators safeguard their identities and prevent audiences from being misled by deepfake content. Currently, the tool is available exclusively to members of the YouTube Partner Program. Access will roll out gradually over the coming weeks, with all monetized creators expected to have the feature by January 2026.

**How to Use the Likeness Detection Tool**

Creators can find the new feature within the content detection tab in YouTube Studio. To start using it, creators must complete an identity verification process, which requires submitting a photo ID along with a selfie video.

Once verified, creators receive alerts whenever AI-generated videos are detected using their likeness. YouTube Studio will provide a list of these unauthorized videos, along with details such as the channel name, video title, and view count.

The tool also highlights specific segments of the videos where the creator’s likeness appears, allowing creators to review each instance before submitting a removal request.

**Early Steps in a Growing Challenge**

With apps like Sora and other deepfake technologies becoming more widespread, challenges around the misuse of identity are expected to increase. YouTube’s new tool is a positive first step toward addressing these concerns, but it’s important to note that deepfake problems aren’t limited to celebrities alone.

One ongoing concern is the data creators must submit—photo IDs and biometric information—which raises privacy questions. Many users may hesitate to provide such sensitive data, even in exchange for protection.

Looking ahead, broader measures could be beneficial, such as introducing stricter regulations on AI-generated videos or creating separate video feeds clearly marked with warnings about AI-generated content. While these won’t fully stop deepfakes, they could help reduce confusion and protect viewers from misinformation.

**Would you be willing to submit a photo ID and face scan to protect yourself from deepfakes?**

– Yes, I don’t want my face used for AI slop
– Maybe, if I can trust the company that does the detection
– No, I prefer to keep my data safe

Xiaomi will continue making phones with rear displays after the 17 Pro Max breaks sales records

Xiaomi 17 Pro Max sold so well that the company is now confident it’ll have to keep selling phones with displays on the back. Releasing a truly different smartphone in 2025 is challenging, but Xiaomi managed to pull it off. The company released the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, which feature secondary displays on the back, and that move appears to have been a success. Xiaomi will continue making phones with secondary displays on the back During a livestream (source in Chinese) on Weibo, Xiaomi’s president Lu Weibing said the company will continue to feature Dynamic Back Displays on its future flagship smartphones. He said that the company is already planning to increase its R&D investments to ensure quality improvements of the displays that will be featured on Xiaomi’s next-generation smartphones. The decision is based on the success of the Xiaomi 17 series, which the company claims was a massive success, and saw a 20% increase in sales compared to last year. The greatest hit is the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, which set a first-day domestic sales record. What does the rear display serve for Unlike Apple’s iPhone 17 and 17 Pro Max, the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max utilize the so-called camera plateau and feature secondary displays on it. It is a 2. 66-inch OLED display with 904 x 572 pixels resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, and brightness hitting 3, 500 nits. Similar to modern flip phones’ cover screen, it supports personalized wallpapers, a few widgets, a selfie viewfinder, and a few more features. Receive the latest Android news By subscribing you agree to our terms and conditions and privacy policy. Considering Xiaomi’s latest announcement, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a bigger display with more features on what could be the Xiaomi 18 series. Lu Weibing said that the company is working on updates to the current generation’s displays. One of them should add a real-time translation feature to the device. Would you like to have a rear display on your phone? Yes, I’d love it Yes, but only if it has good features No, I don’t want more displays Yes, I’d love it 0% Yes, but only if it has good features 0% No, I don’t want more displays 0% No other mainstream smartphone has a similar display on its back. Nothing’s Phone (3) sports a proprietary Glyph Matrix display on the back, which can be used for a few micro games and some limited features. Committing to a standout feature is admirable One of my biggest irks with features like Xiaomi’s secondary display is that they are often one-time endeavors. Many companies try some crazy ideas and never stick to them long enough to make them work. That’s why Xiaomi’s commitment to the rear display is admirable. I’m still not sure how useful such a feature is, but now at least we know it has a future. “Iconic Phones” is coming this Fall! Relive the most iconic and unforgettable phones from the past 20 years!
