Musk intends to improve X’s posts timeline and switch ad recommendations to Grok

Billionaire Elon Musk has announced plans to improve X’s timeline, promising that users will regularly experience better content recommendations and overall improvements. The platform will soon move its ad recommendations onto the same AI system currently used to optimize organic posts based on users’ interests.

Earlier this month, during an X Spaces session, Musk hinted at his ambition to transform X into the world’s leading advertising platform. He introduced Grok, an AI system he described as the “smartest in the world” based on benchmark scores. Despite this optimism, X’s organic posts have stagnated at pre-acquisition levels.

In a recent Sunday post on X, Musk confirmed the ongoing timeline enhancements: “You should notice rapid improvements in the quality of your timeline almost every week, but there will be two steps forward and one step back at times. We are also switching advertising recommendations to use the same Grok/AI system as organic posts, so the quality of ads will get radically better.”

Musk considers Grok a significant upgrade from Twitter’s previous, somewhat random ad targeting methods. However, since Musk’s acquisition, concerns over brand safety have played a major role in advertisers’ departure, triggered by looser ad placement policies and public disputes with critics. Although some advertisers returned after the 2024 election, advertising revenue still falls short compared to pre-acquisition figures.

X recorded approximately 100 million original posts per day in 2023, and current activity remains near that level, indicating some stagnation. Still, Musk is hopeful that smarter AI-driven targeting combined with safer ad placements will boost the platform’s appeal.

Previously, Musk revealed plans to launch a system that scans posts, replies, quotes, and reposts to predict each user’s interests. This initiative aims to help lesser-known creators whose high-quality content often goes unnoticed. By leveraging AI, Musk promises to bring worthy content to the surface regardless of follower counts.

Users will be able to customize their feed preferences with Grok at any time—whether for a temporary tweak or a permanent change. Ideally, this system will surface posts from smaller creators to relevant audiences, thereby enhancing overall engagement. However, those who prefer a hand-picked, chronological timeline might not notice much difference.

X has already taken steps to improve ad quality by restricting emoji use and banning hashtags in ads. The platform also introduced an “aesthetic score” to lower costs for well-designed creatives. Critics, however, have questioned this score, suggesting it may reflect Musk’s personal tastes more than objective metrics.

**AI Transforms Ads and Monetization on X**

X is rolling out AI-powered Dynamic Product Ads that showcase products tailored to individual users. Musk also plans to integrate ads into Grok chatbot responses based on user queries. In the future, advertising campaigns may be fully managed by Grok after advertisers upload their creative assets.

By deploying Grok’s AI, X aims to deliver hyper-targeted campaigns to advertisers while providing smaller creators with access to specialized audiences. This shift has the potential to revolutionize engagement and monetization across the platform.

BTC Traders Eye $98K As All Supports Vanish

Bitcoin’s (BTC) price has struggled to regain momentum following Wednesday’s drop to $100,700, leaving BTC down roughly 3. 5% on the weekly candle. Market data shows long-term holders have sold more than 815, 000 BTC over the past 30 days, intensifying the focus on lower liquidity pockets. Analysts now point to the June 2025 lows near $98,000 as the next likely target if volatility accelerates. Key takeaways: Liquidity clusters show downside pressure building near $98,000 for Bitcoin. A fourth retest of $102,000 to $100,000 support signals a weakening structure. Futures trader positioning remains long-heavy despite rising technical risks. BTC liquidity compression intensifies downside focus Analysts tracking BTC’s liquidity map highlight a widening imbalance between support and overhead resistance. Trader Daan Crypto noted that a “large cluster of liquidity sits below the local lows at $98,000-$100,000,” adding that this aligns with the series of marginally higher lows that have formed above the zone. The trader also pointed to major upside levels at $108,000 and $112,000 but stressed that only the former is currently actionable given the market structure, with whichever band breaks first likely triggering a sharp squeeze. Futures trader Byzantine General echoed the sentiment, observing that current price behavior suggests Bitcoin “is likely to sweep the lows around $98,000.” Supporting this view, CoinGlass data shows nearly $1. 3 billion in cumulative long leveraged liquidity concentrated at the $98,000 level, a steep rise from earlier in the week, while futures traders had previously aimed for upside liquidity near $110, 000, following the recent flush below $100,000 last Friday. Related: Crypto most ‘fearful’ since March as Bitcoin eyes one-year lows versus gold Repeated support retests deepen structural risk Bitcoin has now tested the $102,000-$100,000 support band for the fourth time since the range was first established in May 2025. Multiple retests of the same support often indicate structural exhaustion: Each subsequent visit weakens buyer conviction, reduces resting bid liquidity and increases the likelihood of a breakdown. Analyst UBCrypto noted that the latest move resembled a failed breakout, adding that it is “not a level worth buying into” until price confirms strength, even if that means re-entering a few percentage points higher. Despite this, data from Hyblock Capital shows that long positioning remains dominant, with 68. 9% of global BTC orders leaning long on Binance, indicating that many traders continue to trust the $100,000 floor. However, both the daily and weekly charts reflect a softness at higher time frames, increasing the likelihood of a liquidity sweep toward $98,000, even as deeper order book support appears to be stacked above the current price. CORZ Has Major Upside Following Failed CRWV Takeover

Investment bank Macquarie has upgraded Core Scientific (CORZ) to an outperform rating from neutral, raising its price target on the stock by nearly 90% to $34 from $18. This move follows the collapse of the proposed merger deal between Core Scientific and CoreWeave (CRWV).

The failed merger came as no surprise, according to analysts Paul Golding and Marni Lysaght, who noted in their Thursday report that shareholder opposition was evident from reports and proxy recommendations. Despite the setback, Macquarie’s analysts view the outcome positively, as it gives Core Scientific greater flexibility to lease its near-term power capacity to AI tenants.

Core Scientific shares responded positively, rising 4.5% in early trading to around $21.70.

The analysts highlighted that Core Scientific’s 1.5 gigawatt (GW) power portfolio includes 590 megawatts (MW) already leased to CoreWeave, with an additional 1 GW gross—and roughly 700 MW billable—currently under load study. Management expects to sign at least one new colocation customer by the fourth-quarter earnings report. Macquarie noted that securing a new tenant could accelerate revenue diversification and underscore Core Scientific’s competitive advantage in high-performance computing buildouts.

Meanwhile, Jefferies commented that Core Scientific is moving forward with renewed focus after shareholders rejected the proposed merger with CoreWeave. According to analysts led by Jonathan Petersen, Core Scientific exits the merger process retaining 1.5 GW of existing and planned billable power capacity, with minimal capital expenditure tied to the now-defunct deal.

Throughout the merger talks, Core Scientific continued to expand its data center business, positioning itself to sign new tenants and power contracts by the end of the year. Jefferies emphasized that signing a new tenant would be a key milestone in diversifying revenue streams and reducing reliance on CoreWeave.

Jefferies currently holds a buy rating on Core Scientific shares, with a price target of $28.

Illinois’ trick-or-treating rules: What to know

Halloween is the time when masks go on and candy fills the bags. Many cities and towns regulate Halloween with trick-or-treating rules to ensure safety, so it’s important to check your local Halloween laws before heading out.

In Illinois, for example, many cities limit trick-or-treating to earlier hours, often between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., with some places also imposing age limits on participants. Some Halloween recommendations can be well-intentioned but a bit unusual. The Chicago Police Department, for instance, recommends trick-or-treating only during the day but also suggests that trick-or-treaters wear light-colored clothing — advice that makes more sense for nighttime activities.

In Belleville, trick-or-treating is allowed between 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and is restricted by ordinance to children at or below the eighth-grade level. Additionally, wearing masks by anyone over the age of 12 is prohibited on any day other than Halloween unless express permission is granted by the mayor or chief of police. So, this popular Halloween accessory may be best enjoyed elsewhere outside of Halloween itself.

For those making their rounds in the dusky hours, pint-sized ghouls and goblins should avoid any porches that are not lit up. This simple practice helps to promote safety during nighttime activities.

While public safety is important, parents know their kids best and shouldn’t have to check with their local government about the permitted trick-or-treating hours. If someone doesn’t want to hand out candy at 8:45 p.m., they don’t need a city ordinance dictating the whole town’s schedule.

Studies show that kids can spend up to eight hours a day looking at screens. Halloween is one day a year when they get to spend time outside and engage with their community. Let’s not ruin that experience by telling them to go home too early.

Still, for those on the hunt for free candy, it’s wise to be aware of the local rules to avoid any surprises — especially if your city has some unusual Halloween regulations. Stay safe, have fun, and enjoy this special night!

As the Halloween season approaches, legendary author Stephen King has shared his personal list of must-watch movies and television shows perfect for the spooky occasion. In a recent post on Threads, King highlighted five screen adaptations of his work that he believes capture the spirit of Halloween perfectly.

– **The Institute** (available on MGM+ and Prime Video)
– **1922** (Netflix)
– **Gerald’s Game** (Netflix)
– **Lisey’s Story** (Apple TV+)
– **It: Welcome to Derry** (HBO Max)

He added with a playful challenge, “You can find other stuff, too. If you’re brave enough.”

### Spotlight on *It: Welcome to Derry*

King’s recommendation of *It: Welcome to Derry* comes just as the highly anticipated series debuts on HBO Max. Set in 1962, this prequel explores the sinister origins of Pennywise’s terror in the fictional town of Derry. Fans will be excited to see Bill Skarsgård reprise his iconic role as the terrifying clown that has haunted generations.

He revealed that he is working on a new installment of *Never Flinch*, the Holly Gibney detective series, as well as a third book following *The Talisman* and *Black House*.

King reflected on his work ethic and future plans, saying, “I’m trying to clear my desk as much as I can. At my age, you’re off the warranty. You can’t take anything for granted.” Despite his ongoing projects, the author expressed a desire to slow down, noting, “You can’t guarantee anything once you get past the age of 75, 76. So you’ve got to be a little bit careful. Anything can happen to anybody.”

### Perfect Viewing for a Spooky Season

Whether you prefer chilling adaptations like *Gerald’s Game* and *1922* or the eerie mysteries of *Lisey’s Story* and *The Institute*, Stephen King’s recommendations offer a range of options to get into the Halloween spirit.
