Witkoff To Moscow. Zelenskyy Is Wary. A Phone Call Leaks. A Peace Plan Coalesces. What Exactly Is Going On With Ukraine?

The White House’s lead envoy is heading to Russia for a sixth time. Ukraine fears a peace that heavily favors Moscow. A leaked phone call shows the US envoy advising a Kremlin official on how to sweet talk the White House. And Russia’s invasion — now in its 46th month — has pushed Ukraine’s beleaguered armed forces closer to the breaking point. There’s a lot that happened in the six days since a US-drafted peace proposal first leaked not to mention the circumstances under which it was drafted. The 28-point plan jolted what until recently had been sputtering efforts to halt the Russian war, something that Trump had pledged to do within 24 hours of taking office in January. Here’s what you need to know as of November 26, as diplomats and negotiators from Washington, Moscow, Kyiv, and many other European capitals wrangle over details over a concrete, and controversial plan. The Main Sticking Points? After the US plan leaked, and then was given to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian leader sent his chief of staff and other officials to Geneva for urgent talks with US officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Zelenskyy reportedly was blindsided by the plan, which echoed most of the hard-line positions that Russia has held before the invasion. The Geneva talks, however, produced an “updated and refined” framework a reworked 19-point plan — that would deliver a “sustainable and just peace,” both the White House and Zelenskyy’s office said. But Zelenskyy’s comments suggested the thorniest issues might still be on the table. That includes the fate of a chunk of the Donetsk region that the Kremlin has been hellbent on seizing. Moscow has repeatedly said it must control all of Donetsk, one of five Ukrainian regions Putin baselessly claims are Russian. Ceding land that Ukraine’s forces have kept out of Russia’s clutches, at great cost, would be a massive concession by Kyiv and could have political repercussions for Zelenskyy. Other pitfalls include the Kremlin’s insistence that Ukraine be forever barred from joining NATO and a potential cap on the size of Kyiv’s military. The US draft would require Ukraine to “enshrine in its constitution that it will not join NATO” and the alliance to formalize a pledge that Ukraine will never be admitted. That approach may be unpalatable for Ukraine, which wants freedom to choose its geopolitical partners and currently has its NATO aspirations codified in its constitution. Ukraine also wants to be able to defend itself from any potential future Russian attack. In previous negotiations, Russia called for Ukraine’s military to be under 100, 000 personnel. The initial US draft would cap it at 600, 000. A European counterproposal would raise that to 800, 000 “in peacetime.” Several top Republican senators have criticized the initial US plan, including former Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. “A deal that rewards aggression wouldn’t be worth the paper it’s written on. America isn’t a neutral arbiter, and we shouldn’t act like one,” he said in a post to X. Sixth Time’s A Charm? A real estate developer with no diplomatic background, Steve Witkoff is the man tapped by Trump to lead efforts to find an end to Russia’s war. He’s met with Putin five times already, traveling to Moscow on his private jet. Some of Witkoff’s prior actions have raised alarm bells to outside observers, who fear he is being manipulated or that he misunderstands the war’s deeply intractable historical contours. Witkoff has relied on translators provided by the Kremlin for his conversations with Putin and other officials, rather than using translators authorized by the US Embassy. After Witkoff’s last meeting with Putin in August, US and European officials said the envoy misunderstood the geography of Ukrainian territory Putin was claiming. Representative Don Bacon, a Republican who has criticized the Trump administration’s engagement with Russia, called for Witkoff to be fired. Sending Witkoff back to Moscow, a visit Kremlin foreign policy aide Yury Ushakov confirmed would happen next week, is a sign that the White House is eager to cement some or all of the points that were set in Geneva and Abu Dhabi. Another wild-card: Trump mentioned his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, might accompany Witkoff, something neither Ushakov nor Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on. Kushner was reportedly present for previously undisclosed US meeting involving Witkoff and Russian who is also not a diplomat but who has played a starring, unconventional role in negotiations with the Americans: Kirill Dmitriev. Wait, A Leaked Phone Call? In late October, Dmitriev, a sharp-tongued, Harvard-trained businessman who heads Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, traveled to Miami, Florida. He met with Republican Representative Anna Luna, giving her what he said were undisclosed Russian files on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He also gave her a box of chocolates and a book of Putin quotes. Dmitriev had been blacklisted in 2022, along with other Russian officials, in punishment for the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Trump’s Treasury secretary has called him a “Kremlin propagandist.” It later emerged that Dmitriev, who was given an exemption by US authorities to travel, had secret meetings with Witkoff and Kushner while in Miami- reportedly leaving some White House and State Department officials in the dark. After news of the US proposal emerged last week, several US senators said that Rubio told them the draft was Russian in nature, influenced by a Russian, though Dmitriev was not named. Rubio, who was in Geneva, insisted it was a US draft. On November 25, not long before Trump announced Witkoff would travel to Moscow, Bloomberg News published a transcript of what it said was telephone call between Witkoff and Ushakov, held about two weeks before Witkoff met Dmitriev in Miami. According to the transcript, Witkoff advised Ushakov on how to charm Trump on a possible peace deal. “I would make the call and just reiterate that you congratulate the president on this achievement, that you supported it, you supported it, that you respect that he is a man of peace and you’re just, you’re really glad to have seen it happen. So I would say that,” Witkoff was quoted as saying. “I know what it’s going to take to get a peace deal done: Donetsk and maybe a land swap somewhere,” Witkoff reportedly said. Bloomberg did not say how it obtained the recording, which was likely made by US intelligence agencies who routinely monitor and eavesdrop on foreign officials’ conversations. RFE/RL could not independent verify the transcript. Trump partially confirmed the fact of the call, though not its content, saying “He’s got to sell this to Ukraine. He’s going to sell Ukraine to Russia. That’s what a dealmaker does.” Ushakov also appeared to confirm the fact of the call, telling a Russian state TV reporter that the call was leaked to undermine the backchannel negotiations. “It is unlikely that such a leak could have come from the participants in the conversation,” he was quoted as saying. RFE/RL Russia/Ukraine editor Steven Gutterman contributed to this report.

Rush Hour 4 Is Happening: Here’s What Trump Has To Do With It

Rush Hour 4 has moved from years of uncertainty to active development, driven in part by a request from President Donald Trump that reignited studio interest in the long-running franchise. Paramount is now set to distribute the film. The project brings together returning stars, a controversial director and a studio system reshaped by new ownership. A Franchise Revived Through Presidential Influence Reports state that Paramount agreed to distribute Rush Hour 4 after Trump personally asked the studio to revive the series. According to Semafor, it played a role in the decision to push the project forward. Trump’s involvement has added an unexpected political thread to a film franchise previously known only as a comedic action series. Brett Ratner will return to direct the fourth instalment after a prolonged absence from feature films. His last major release was the 2014 action film Hercules, led by Dwayne Johnson. Ratner’s career slowed in 2017 following allegations connected to the #MeToo movement, though he has remained active through other projects. His relationship with the Trump family strengthened during the production of Melania, a documentary about the former First Lady. Amazon reportedly paid £31. 5 million (approximately $40 million) for the rights to release that project. This connection placed Ratner in proximity to the administration during a period in which Rush Hour 4 was being reconsidered. Paramount’s Role and the Film’s New Structure Paramount’s involvement in Rush Hour 4 is limited to distribution, with the studio being paid a flat fee to release the film theatrically. It will not be responsible for the cost of production or marketing, making the arrangement lower risk than a traditional studio-funded release. Warner Bros., through its New Line label, released the original Rush Hour in 1998 and the sequels in 2001 and 2007. Under the new agreement, Warner Bros. will receive first-dollar gross, meaning it will collect a percentage of box office revenue before costs are repaid. Multiple distributors were approached after Warner Bros. allowed the producers and Ratner to explore new partners. Many reportedly declined due to Ratner’s involvement, which made Paramount’s agreement more unusual given the broader industry reluctance. A Legacy of Commercial Success The franchise has been a substantial box office performer. The first Rush Hour, centred on two police officers teaming up to rescue a diplomat’s daughter, earned £192 million (approximately $244 million) worldwide. The sequels strengthened the franchise with £273 million (approximately $347 million) for Rush Hour 2 and £203 million (approximately $258 million) for Rush Hour 3. These successes came during a period when comedy-driven action films were dominant in cinemas. Since then, comedies have declined significantly at the box office, raising questions about how Rush Hour 4 will perform in a market that now favours large-scale franchise films and major action releases. Jackie Chan, whose physicality shaped the tone of the earlier films, is now 71. Chris Tucker has not led a film since Rush Hour 3 in 2007. Studio Ambitions and Trump’s Connection to Paramount Leadership Paramount’s chairman and CEO, David Ellison, is the son of Larry Ellison, known for being one of Trump’s most prominent financial supporters. Trump has publicly praised Ellison’s leadership, adding another layer of connection between the former President and the film’s development. The timeline for Rush Hour 4 remains unclear, but its path to production has already set it apart from its predecessors, shaped by political influence, shifting studio priorities and the return of key figures not seen together on a major film in more than a decade.

SJSU volleyball team fails to make conference tournament in first season after trans athlete scandal

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! It was always going to be a tough act to follow. San Jose State University’s volleyball team was eliminated from making the Mountain West Tournament with a loss Saturday to University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and finished the season under . 500 with a 13-16 overall record and 8-10 in conference play. SJSU outperformed expectations, finishing seventh in the Mountain West after being expected to finish 11th in the conference’s preseason coaches poll after a controversy involving trans athlete Blaire Fleming in 2024. SJSU previously made the conference final with Fleming in 2022, the trans athlete’s first year with the Spartans under former head coach Trent Kersten. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS. COM The controversy involving Fleming resulted in two lawsuits during the 2024 season, a federal investigation by the U. S. Department of Education and a mass exodus of players. At least seven of the team’s returning players from 2024 entered the transfer portal in December after the season ended. The controversial 2024 season included eight forfeited matches, regular police protection, national scrutiny and internal turmoil between players and coaches. Kress previously said the 2024 season was one of the “most difficult” of his life. Kress is 21st in NCAA women’s volleyball history in wins as a head coach. “This has been one of the most difficult seasons I’ve ever experienced, and I know this is true as well for many of our players and the staff who have been supporting us all along. Maintaining our focus on the court and ensuring the overall safety and well-being of my players amid the external noise have been my priorities,” Kress said. EX-SJSU STAR BROOKE SLUSSER MAKES NEW ALLEGATIONS ABOUT PROBE INTO TRANS TEAMMATE’S ALLEGED PLOT TO HARM HER Kersten was the coach who recruited Fleming to SJSU as a transfer out of Coastal Carolina. Kersten then stepped down after the 2022 season and was replaced by Kress. Former SJSU co-captain Brooke Slusser transferred to SJSU from Alabama in 2023 Then, in September 2024, Slusser joined a lawsuit against the NCAA alleging SJSU officials withheld knowledge about Fleming’s birth gender from her and other players on the team. Slusser alleged she was made to share changing and sleeping spaces with Fleming without knowing that Fleming was a biological male. Slusser, along with several other players in the Mountain West, filed a separate lawsuit against the conference and San Jose State in November 2024 over Fleming’s presence. That lawsuit included testimony from former San Jose State volleyball players Alyssa Sugai and Elle Patterson alleging they were passed over for scholarships in favor of Fleming. Assistant coach Melissa Batie-Smoose was suspended by the program in early November after she filed a Title IX complaint against the university for showing favoritism toward Fleming over the other players, especially Slusser. Batie-Smoose’s complaint also included allegations of Fleming’s plot to have Slusser spiked in the face. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE.

Serena Williams’ ex-coach Rennae Stubbs blames Stefanos Tsitsipas’ ‘thoughts on women’ for why he won’t hire her

Rennae Stubbs believes that she’s unlikely to be a part of Stefanos Tsitsipas’ coaching set up in the future on account of his perceived views on women. She has proven her credentials as a player and a coach over the years. She won five Major titles in doubles, and coached the likes of Serena Williams, Karolina Pliskova and Samantha Stosur. Stubbs, along with her co-host Caitlin Thompson, were on the topic of tennis coaches on the latest episode of the Rennae Stubbs Podcast. Their attention turned towards Tsitsipas and his coaching situation. He had a falling out with his father, who was his long-time coach. Thanks for the submission! Tsitsipas then hired Goran Ivanisevic, and their partnership didn’t last too long either, ultimately parting ways in July 2025. The 27-year-old eventually teamed up with his father once again. Stubbs revealed that she gave Tsitsipas a shoutout on X (formerly Twitter) a while ago. While she’s open to being his coach, she opined that she’s unlikely to land the job due to his thoughts on women. “While we’re on coach watch though, you tweeted back at Stefanos Tsitsipas,” Thompson said. “I said ‘Hire me'” Stubbs responded. It was funny though. I sort of did it as a joke. Knowing his thoughts on women, I don’t think he’s going to have a female coach.” While Thompson felt that Tsitsipas isn’t sexist as such, Stubbs felt that some of his opinions on social media, especially regarding women, were controversial. Nevertheless, she’s keeping an open mind and is available if needs another voice in his camp. “I don’t think he’s particularly sexist,” Thompson said. “He has said some dodgy stuff,” Stubbs said. “I think his Twitter persona is cut and pieced,” Thompson said. “All right, Well we’ll soon find out, won’t we. Yeah, I’m putting it out there I am available, and, um, I’m available,” Stubbs said. Tsitsipas could certainly benefit from the insight of another experienced coach. Despite a title, the 2025 season was largely disappointing for him. He wrapped up the season with his worst year-end finish since 2017. Stefanos Tsitsipas finished a season outside the top 20 for the first time since 2017 Stefanos Tsitsipas’ results took a turn for the worse in 2025. His triumph at the Dubai Tennis Championships was the only saving grace in an otherwise underwhelming season. He went 2-4 at the Majors, and made only one quarterfinal at the Masters 1000 level. Tsitsipas started 2025 ranked No. 11. He returned to the top 10 following his victory in Dubai. However, his stay in the region was rather short, and he was out after six weeks. Tsitsipas’ results over the next few months weren’t encouraging, and an injury hiatus post the US Open didn’t help either. He finished the year with a 22-18 record and ranked No. 34. Prior to this year, he was ranked within the top 15 at the end of the season every year since 2018. Tsitsipas’ current year-end finish of No. 34 marks his lowest finish since he wrapped up 2017 at No. 91. He will be keen to do some soul searching and emerge stronger than before in 2026.

Kirk Herbstreit: ‘God bless’ Pat McAfee’s Veterans Day show, ‘one of your best’

On Tuesday, Pat McAfee hosted his eponymous show from Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in South Carolina to celebrate Veterans Day. The show featured numerous gestures in praise of the military, but none more notable than an interview with the sitting president.

The commander-in-chief spoke to McAfee by phone, with much of the interview focused on celebrating veterans. However, the interview has come under fire in the days since. Critics point out that McAfee gave President Trump carte blanche to discuss lies about the 2020 election, didn’t bring up Trump’s history of denigrating the military, and then hid behind his self-proclaimed ignorance of politics when facing the predictable criticism of hosting a controversial political figure on ESPN airwaves.

The following day, McAfee claimed that anyone who disagreed with his decision to interview Trump “hate[d] the troops.”

Despite the polarizing nature of the interview, one of McAfee’s ESPN colleagues decided to publicly voice his support for the former Indianapolis Colts punter during a high-leverage portion of College GameDay on Saturday. Fellow GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit told McAfee that his Veterans Day show was one of the “best shows you’ve ever had,” as the show’s panel picked Saturday’s slate of college football games.

“Veterans Day was Tuesday,” McAfee said before making his selection for the USF-Navy game. “Give me Navy, for America. Of course, I’ll take Navy to get a big time win.” After celebrity picker Aaron Donald also picked Navy, McAfee said, “And God bless the troops,” at which point Herbstreit quickly jumped in to say, “And God bless you for that show you put on Tuesday. One of your best shows you’ve ever had.”

In Herbstreit’s defense, McAfee’s Trump interview was but a small portion of a three-hour show that featured plenty of tactful celebration for our nation’s armed forces. However, the Trump interview was by far the most notable part of the show, and the part that has received the vast majority of media coverage (and criticism) in the days following the episode.

Whether Herbstreit meant his comments to be an endorsement of the Trump interview or not, that is how they came off.

‘DWTS’ champion Bobby Bones reveals he returned Mirrorball trophy over Tom Bergeron’s insult

Former *Dancing with the Stars* champion Bobby Bones has returned his Mirrorball trophy following criticism from former host Tom Bergeron over his controversial win on the show.

Bones, whose real name is Bobby Estell, revealed on Wednesday that he relinquished the coveted trophy due to the constant insults and negativity surrounding his victory. He accused critics of taking “all of the joy” out of his time on the hit competition series.

“I sent the trophy back. They don’t want me to be a part of the show obviously, so I don’t want to be somewhere that doesn’t want me to be there. I sent the trophy back to ABC. I no longer have the Mirrorball trophy. I loved my time there,” Bones said in a TikTok video.

The 45-year-old radio host earned the prestigious honor after winning Season 27 in 2018 with professional dance partner Sharna Burgess, defeating runner-up actor Milo Manheim.

Bergeron, who hosted *DWTS* from 2005 to 2020, described Bones’ win as the most shocking moment he experienced during his tenure on the show. He explained that Bones wasn’t expected to win.

“It’s funny you’re asking about eliminations,” Bergeron told *Parade*. “The thing that shocked me most was a win. Bobby Bones.”

“It’s like Andy Richter this season,” he added. “He’s charming and has such a big heart. Do I think he’s going to win? No. Do I think he’s bringing a quality to the show that epitomizes what the show is? Absolutely. But Bobby Bones was the first time it was like, ‘Ouch.’ No disrespect to Bobby. He would probably say the same thing.”

Bones admitted he was hurt by Bergeron’s comments.

“I try not to get my feelings hurt, especially about stuff like this, but this was hurtful. Not because of what was said, but who said it,” he said. “It’s crazy, the amount of hate I get. Even from people I respect, like Tom Bergeron. And Julianne Hough, which I don’t know her. But I feel like a sixth grader and all the ninth-grade dancing kids are shoving me in lockers.”

Bones also revealed that he hadn’t initially intended to be on *Dancing with the Stars*, but joined the cast because he had a contract with ABC, and they asked him to compete to promote his own show.

“They asked me to go on the show to promote. Am I supposed to not show up and work hard? Am I supposed to give it freaking everything that I have? Am I supposed to throw it and not win?” he questioned his followers.

“Like was I supposed to show up and go, ‘Well, since I didn’t have any training as a kid, I should just not win this competition.’ What did I do? I had a great attitude. I worked hard and here we are, six years later I’m still catching strays out of nowhere,” Bones said.

The host of *Bobbycast* confessed that after admitting in September to going over the acceptable daily amount of practice, he has been bombarded with hate and negative messages.

Bones was further shocked by statements from Bergeron and Julianne Hough — a former dancer and judge who is now co-host alongside Alfonso Ribeiro — especially as some comments have come from people he works closely with.

“But I would say things like this, Tom or Julianne or there are even people I work closely with taking random shots at me this week that have taken all the joy from my time on that show. Which is crazy because it was such a great, joyous time,” he added.

In response, Bergeron apologized for his statement.

“Bobby, it wasn’t my intention to hurt your feelings,” he wrote in a message to Bones. “My ‘ouch’ was based on my honest feeling that your win spoke to a need to address the balance between judge and viewer voting. I always felt bad that you and Sharna had to deal with the aftermath of that win and I certainly regret pouring any salt wound.”

Bergeron mutually parted ways with the network after criticizing the decision to cast former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on the show in 2020.

At least 40 people removed from Fremont homeless encampment at local park, citing maintenance

FREMONT, Calif. (KGO) — Fremont city officials have cleared out a homeless encampment at Isherwood Park to make way for maintenance, vegetation removal, and improvements focused on fire safety.

Veronica Sanchez was among those impacted, gathering the last of her belongings at Isherwood Park on Monday as crews began the cleanup. Sanchez has lived in the park for five years and, like others, is now forced to move out.

“Very emotional,” Sanchez said. “Just a lot going on, a lot having to deal with.”

ABC7 witnessed another resident pulling a shopping cart full of personal items from the park. More than three dozen people have called this encampment home.

The temporary closure of Isherwood Park, located at Isherwood Way and Quarry Lakes Drive, began Monday. A full park closure—including for current residents—will start on November 14 and is expected to last through early 2026.

The city states that the park is undergoing renovations to improve fire safety, protect waterways, and enhance accessibility. However, for residents like Sanchez, the closure represents the loss of their home.

“We all prefer to stay,” Sanchez said. “We’ve all been here for a long time, so we’re all close.”

According to a Fremont city spokesperson, the city has offered shelter to approximately 40 people. The process of moving residents into shelters will take place over the next two weeks, with staff providing assistance in phases. Ultimately, the goal is to move people into permanent, stable housing.

In February, the Fremont City Council approved a proposal that bans camping on public property, a move that has been described by some nonprofit leaders as the “most restrictive” in California.

Top Trump Officials Move to US Military Bases

**Government Officials Relocate to U.S. Military Bases Amid Rising Security Concerns**

Government officials are rapidly moving onto U.S. military bases near Washington, D.C., in response to escalating security threats. According to *The Atlantic*, senior figures including Stephen Miller, Pete Hegseth, Marco Rubio, Kristi Noem, and others have relocated to these bases following personal threats and intelligence warnings that civil unrest is inevitable.

This shift marks a highly unusual development, as these military residences were traditionally reserved for high-ranking officers. The officials relocating have reportedly been doxxed by legacy media outlets. For example, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was compelled to move after her Navy Yard address was published by the *Daily Mail*.

Those who have moved onto the bases are considered temporary residents and required formal permission from the administration to do so. Critics argue that this trend blurs the lines between military and civilian leadership, insisting that public servants should live among the communities they serve.

However, the reality is that these individuals face an alarming number of death threats amid growing political violence and civil unrest. While the officials themselves may not welcome the relocations, the moves are seen as essential measures for their safety.

In addition to these personnel relocations, the White House is also preparing for potential political violence. The recent renovation of the White House ballroom includes undisclosed security enhancements. The original East Wing, constructed in 1902, featured an underground bunker known as the Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC), which has been in use since World War II and notably during the 9/11 attacks.

Despite the focus on modernizing the ballroom, details about the updated security features integrated with the PEOC bunker have been scarce. This secrecy underscores the administration’s commitment to safeguarding leadership amid uncertain times.

As tensions rise, these precautionary moves highlight the growing concerns surrounding political stability and the safety of government officials in the nation’s capital.

NYC principal under probe showered taxpayer funds on pals — including Jay Z’s bankrupt ex-manager and wife

**NYC Principal Under Probe Showered Taxpayer Funds on Pals Including Jay-Z’s Bankrupt Ex-Manager and Wife**
*By Susan Edelman | NY Post | November 2, 2025*

A Queens principal who counts former Jay-Z manager Damon Dash and his wife as close pals has allegedly turned her school into a slush fund for friends, according to whistleblowers.

Aneesha Jacko, principal of PS 35 Nathaniel Woodhull in Hollis, is accused of spending tens of thousands in taxpayer funds to purchase books published by her associates, hiring others as consultants, and prominently featuring their brands on a sprawling mural in the school lobby — essentially turning it into a billboard, staffers say.

“It absolutely blows my mind that she is still allowed to run our school,” said one faculty member. Jacko has led PS 35 since October 2020.

The Special Commissioner of Investigation (SCI) for city schools has been probing complaints about Jacko’s spending for more than three years, spokesperson Jason Brooks confirmed. “The case is still open, and therefore the SCI cannot comment,” he said.

Officials have not accused Jacko of any criminal wrongdoing at this time.

However, the SCI issued a report in 2022 faulting Jacko for granting excessive overtime to a favored teacher, resulting in $10,500 in improper payments. The independent agency also referred three other complaints to the New York City Department of Education for further investigation.

Jacko’s closest associates include Damon Dash — Jay-Z’s ex-business partner and co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records — and Dash’s wife Raquel Horn. Dash is a controversial figure who overcame drug dealing in his youth but recently filed for bankruptcy to avoid $5 million in lawsuit debts. He currently owes New York $2.1 million in back taxes.
