Rennae Stubbs believes that she’s unlikely to be a part of Stefanos Tsitsipas’ coaching set up in the future on account of his perceived views on women. She has proven her credentials as a player and a coach over the years. She won five Major titles in doubles, and coached the likes of Serena Williams, Karolina Pliskova and Samantha Stosur. Stubbs, along with her co-host Caitlin Thompson, were on the topic of tennis coaches on the latest episode of the Rennae Stubbs Podcast. Their attention turned towards Tsitsipas and his coaching situation. He had a falling out with his father, who was his long-time coach. Thanks for the submission! Tsitsipas then hired Goran Ivanisevic, and their partnership didn’t last too long either, ultimately parting ways in July 2025. The 27-year-old eventually teamed up with his father once again. Stubbs revealed that she gave Tsitsipas a shoutout on X (formerly Twitter) a while ago. While she’s open to being his coach, she opined that she’s unlikely to land the job due to his thoughts on women. “While we’re on coach watch though, you tweeted back at Stefanos Tsitsipas,” Thompson said. “I said ‘Hire me'” Stubbs responded. It was funny though. I sort of did it as a joke. Knowing his thoughts on women, I don’t think he’s going to have a female coach.” While Thompson felt that Tsitsipas isn’t sexist as such, Stubbs felt that some of his opinions on social media, especially regarding women, were controversial. Nevertheless, she’s keeping an open mind and is available if needs another voice in his camp. “I don’t think he’s particularly sexist,” Thompson said. “He has said some dodgy stuff,” Stubbs said. “I think his Twitter persona is cut and pieced,” Thompson said. “All right, Well we’ll soon find out, won’t we. Yeah, I’m putting it out there I am available, and, um, I’m available,” Stubbs said. Tsitsipas could certainly benefit from the insight of another experienced coach. Despite a title, the 2025 season was largely disappointing for him. He wrapped up the season with his worst year-end finish since 2017. Stefanos Tsitsipas finished a season outside the top 20 for the first time since 2017 Stefanos Tsitsipas’ results took a turn for the worse in 2025. His triumph at the Dubai Tennis Championships was the only saving grace in an otherwise underwhelming season. He went 2-4 at the Majors, and made only one quarterfinal at the Masters 1000 level. Tsitsipas started 2025 ranked No. 11. He returned to the top 10 following his victory in Dubai. However, his stay in the region was rather short, and he was out after six weeks. Tsitsipas’ results over the next few months weren’t encouraging, and an injury hiatus post the US Open didn’t help either. He finished the year with a 22-18 record and ranked No. 34. Prior to this year, he was ranked within the top 15 at the end of the season every year since 2018. Tsitsipas’ current year-end finish of No. 34 marks his lowest finish since he wrapped up 2017 at No. 91. He will be keen to do some soul searching and emerge stronger than before in 2026.

The Philadelphia Phillies could look to move on from a star reliever amid a bullpen turnover this offseason.

Philadelphia had a disappointing exit to their season, losing in the NLDS to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Phillies’ bullpen was an issue throughout the year, and the team may be planning some major changes to strengthen the group.

Phillies insider Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports that star reliever Matt Strahm could draw trade interest from other teams. “The Phillies have fielded steady interest in all three of their left-handed relievers since the offseason began, major-league sources said, and it could nudge them toward a trade,” Gelb wrote.

He added, “The free-agent market for lefty relievers is not robust; some of the best available arms are Gregory Soto, Drew Pomeranz, Danny Coulombe, and Hoby Milner.”

Strahm, in particular, could pique teams’ interest. Despite this, he has been an integral piece of the Phillies’ bullpen success. His 2.46 ERA since 2023 ranks second among 53 left-handed relievers with at least 100 innings pitched during that span (Coulombe leads the group).

Although Strahm’s strikeout rate and fastball velocity dipped in 2025, he still logged an effective 62 1/3 innings of relief work. The left-hander, who serves as a reliable setup man, posted a 2-3 record with a 2.74 ERA over 66 games last season. Strahm is set to earn $7.5 million in 2026 and will be a free agent following the season.

With the left-handed reliever free agent market not being the strongest, trading one of their own could be a practical move for Philadelphia to gain valuable assets.

**Mead Boys Cross Country Team Shines with Third Place at Nike Cross Regional**

*November 15* — The storybook season for the Mead boys cross country team added another stupendous chapter Saturday afternoon. Ranked 19th in the nation, Mead took third place at the Nike Cross Regional under overcast skies at the Spokane Polo Grounds.

As if on cue, the sun broke through the clouds and cast a brilliant glare on the finish line, contrasting with the dark skies to the east.

Stumptown, a team consisting of runners from Jesuit High School in Portland, won the event with 88 points. Forest Park claimed second place with 149 points, while Mead finished just one point behind in third.

The top two boys and girls teams at the regional earn berths to the Nike Cross National meet on December 6 in Portland. Additionally, four more boys and girls teams will receive at-large berths.

Mead, fresh off a commanding State 4A championship win last weekend, made a strong statement for an at-large bid at nationals.

Leading Mead was Jovanny Lieb, who finished 23rd with a time of 15 minutes, 11.4 seconds. He was followed by Stejer Frankler in 31st place (15:16.7), Aaron Pooler 55th (15:29.3), Jonah Wiser 76th (15:41.1), and Noah Reischman 77th (15:41.2).

Mead coach Austin Stuchell was ecstatic following the race. “We were the underdogs,” Stuchell said. “Now we’ll let the selection committee make its decision. We outperformed ourselves. I can’t ask for any more. I think they ran better today than they did at state. It’s kind of a fairytale ending.”

Despite the fantastic performance, Mead hopes for one more race at the national meet.

It was a disappointing day for Coeur d’Alene, the defending NXR champion, who finished a distant sixth with 212 points. Wyatt Carr led his team with an eighth-place finish in 14:48.7.

“It was a tough one,” said Coeur d’Alene coach Emry Carr. “I have to look at our splits and process it. I don’t know what exactly happened.”

Carr admitted the team faced difficulties from the very beginning. “I don’t know where it went wrong,” he added. “It’s a tough, tough way to go out.”

Coeur d’Alene typically trains with the NXR as their primary focus rather than the state meet, making Saturday’s results even more frustrating.

“That’s why it doesn’t matter if you’re ranked third in the nation or not,” Carr said. “You’ve got to run the race. And if you don’t perform on that date, that’s the way it goes.”

On the individual front, Cohen Butler of Camas, who captured the 4A state individual title just a week ago, took the boys championship with an impressive time of 14:36.8.

In the girls’ race, Addison Kegel, a freshman from Billings Central Catholic in Montana, claimed the title with a time of 16:51.7. Kegel went undefeated during her high school season, and her time at the regional was a personal best by 17 seconds.

What made Kegel’s victory even more impressive was that she was accidentally knocked to the ground about halfway through the race. She quickly scrambled to her feet and eventually took the lead with 400 meters remaining.

“I am so amazed,” Kegel said. “I wanted to finish in the top 10. The gravity of the race still hasn’t sunk in yet. This course was made for personal bests.”

Next year, the NXR race will move to the Course Spokane Valley.

Among area runners, Annabelle Carr of Coeur d’Alene Charter, who won her second straight state title two weeks ago, was the highest finisher in the girls’ race, placing 29th with a time of 17:52.6.

Another week of the NFL season passes, and yet another unfortunate clip circulates featuring Seahawks guard Anthony Bradford looking lost on the field. This week, Bradford made the rounds on Twitter after running into fellow offensive lineman Jalen Sundell and knocking over teammate Zach Charbonnet on a play that could have resulted in a large gain. While one play doesn’t define an entire performance — after all, it’s easy to pick apart most players by isolating a single clip — Bradford’s viral gaffes are just standout moments in a season marred by poor play.

### Bradford’s Ongoing Struggles

Bradford is currently one of the lowest-rated guards according to Pro Football Focus (PFF), ranking 73rd out of 82 eligible players. He has particularly underperformed in the passing game, where he ranks 80th in pass-block grade.

“All of the 12s could heartily concur, because it’s obvious from watching last week that Anthony Bradford’s play at right guard isn’t close to an elite level,” Richie Whitt writes for Sports Illustrated. He adds, “It’s not solely Bradford’s fault, but he shares some of the blame for Seattle ranking just 27th in the league at 3.7 yards per rush.”

Tim Weaver, another SI writer, discussed how Bradford has fallen short of expectations, especially after a promising preseason performance. “Bradford’s struggles are particularly disappointing this year because he appeared to have turned a corner during the preseason, when he was positively dominant facing second-string defenders,” Weaver explains. “Unfortunately, that great work in August turned out to be a mirage, as Bradford immediately regressed once the regular season began and he started lining up across from starters again.”

### Possible Trade Candidates

With the trade deadline approaching on November 4, Seattle has several interior offensive linemen to consider acquiring.

One name frequently mentioned is Saints right guard Cesar Ruiz. The 26-year-old was a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and has started 75 games over six seasons with New Orleans. Acquiring Ruiz would be a relatively big financial commitment for the Seahawks, as his cap hit jumps to $14.2 million over the next two seasons. However, the Saints are rebuilding and may be willing to part ways with the serviceable veteran.

Now, it appears they have identified his successor. Reports indicate that USF’s Jose Fernandez is next in line for the head coaching position, according to SB Nation’s Mitchell Northam.

“According to multiple sources, the Dallas Wings are zeroing in on USF’s Jose Fernandez to be their next head coach. Deal could be finalized as early as today,” Northam wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Fernandez was among the candidates mentioned during the coaching search, and his consideration comes as no surprise given his impressive accomplishments at USF.
