‘No Cheat Meals, We Eat Everything’: Milind Soman & Ankita Konwar Share Their Diet

At 59, Milind Soman continues to defy age, proving that fitness isn’t about strict routines or fancy diets—it’s a way of life. In an exclusive chat with the Free Press Journal, Milind and his wife Ankita Konwar opened up about their wellness habits, daily rituals, and the philosophy that keeps them both mentally and physically strong.

Despite being one of India’s most admired fitness icons, Milind insists that his approach to health is refreshingly simple and flexible. “I don’t have a job,” he joked, explaining that his schedule is different every single day, yet he manages to workout and eat right. No excuses there!

### Different Morning Routines, Same Discipline

The couple may start their days differently, but they share the same commitment to balance. Milind confessed that he enjoys sleeping in, but the moment he wakes up, he starts “moving and twisting” right in bed before heading out for a run.

Ankita, on the other hand, is an early riser who dedicates the first 15 minutes of her morning entirely to herself—no distractions, no rush. Both begin their day with a glass of water, a simple ritual they swear by.

“It’s the best way to flush out toxins and hydrate your body,” Ankita said. Neither believes in fancy detox drinks or fad diets. For them, wellness is rooted in consistency, not complexity.

### No Diets, No Calorie Counting, Just Mindful Eating

One of the most striking revelations the couple shared is that they don’t count calories or obsess over macros. “We don’t differentiate between carbs, proteins, or fats,” Milind said. “We just eat a balanced, home-cooked meal.”

Ankita added that they avoid processed or packaged foods as much as possible. Surprisingly, the duo doesn’t believe in the concept of cheat meals either.

Milind explained, “If I want to eat a gulab jamun or a pizza, I’ll eat it. When your mind and body are in sync, you automatically choose what’s right for you. Food doesn’t control you anymore.”

### Intermittent Fasting and the Power of Listening to Your Body

Milind recently experimented with intermittent fasting and found great results, losing 7–8 kilos without even realizing it. “People said I looked fit already, but fasting helped me shed extra weight naturally,” he said.

The couple’s philosophy is clear: fitness is not about restriction but about awareness. By listening to their bodies, staying active every day, and maintaining a stress-free relationship with food, Milind Soman and Ankita Konwar continue to inspire millions across the country.

Their mantra is simple yet powerful: move daily, eat mindfully, and let fitness flow naturally.

Two years since the October 7 massacre and the trauma is far from over – opinion

Two Years Since the October 7 Massacre: The Trauma Is Far from Over

The calculated sadism inflicted on women and men, soldiers and civilians, young and old—entire communities—was unprecedented. Sexual violence was not incidental; it was an intentional component of the enemy’s strategy.

Demonstrators recently held signs protesting what they describe as international silence over sexual violence perpetrated against Israeli women during the Hamas attack on southern Israel on October 7. The protest took place in Jerusalem on November 27, 2023.

NASHVILLE GOES DARK

The government shutdown has caused another major air traffic control tower to go dark, leaving no one available to direct planes due to staffing shortages. Nashville’s air traffic approach control is expected to remain dark until after midnight, resulting in significant flight delays and ground stops.

According to the FAA’s website, the ground delay has already backed up flights by more than two hours at Nashville International Airport (BNA). BNA officials noted that the FAA informed them this reduction in manpower “will remain in effect until further notice.” All airlines have been notified of the slowdown, and travelers are advised to check the status of their flights with their airlines before arriving at the airport.

On Monday, a dozen facilities experienced staffing shortages, including Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy attributed some of these issues to many air traffic control workers calling out sick. “If we see there are issues in the tower that are affecting controllers’ ability to effectively control the airspace, we’ll reduce the rate, and you’ll see more delays or you might see a cancellation,” Duffy said.

Another major hub facing travel disruptions due to the government shutdown is Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. The FAA announced a ground delay there starting at 7 p.m. ET and lasting until midnight. O’Hare, one of the busiest airports in the US and the world, handles over 80 million passengers annually and thousands of flights daily.

According to Axios, O’Hare has been experiencing staffing shortages and is expected to remain understaffed in its air traffic control tower for most of the day. FlightAware’s “Misery Map” tracks delayed flights at US airports and highlights travel hubs particularly impacted by the shutdown. So far, O’Hare has seen the most delays Tuesday afternoon, postponing over 60 flights since 2 p.m. ET.

These new travel headaches come less than a day after air traffic control towers at Hollywood Burbank Airport in California were left unmanned for hours due to the ongoing shutdown.

When The Daily Mail requested a comment from the White House on Monday, they received an automatic reply blaming Democrats for the shutdown. The message read: “Due to staff shortages resulting from the Democrat Shutdown, the typical 24/7 monitoring of this press inbox may experience delays.”

Despite the widespread delays, flight cancellations have so far been kept to a minimum nationwide, with only 61 flights into and out of the US cancelled on Tuesday.

Nick Daniels, President of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA), called for an immediate end to the shutdown during Duffy’s news conference. NATCA represents over 20,000 air traffic controllers and reports that many members have been working 10-hour shifts, six days a week. The shutdown has further strained these vital workers by furloughing support staff and suspending support programs.

Some major airports were already dealing with staffing shortages before Congress failed to pass a new spending bill on October 1. Newark Liberty International Airport, for example, has been plagued by staffing issues and dangerous radar blackouts throughout the year.

As the shutdown continues, travelers are urged to stay informed and prepare for possible delays at several key US airports.

Air traffic staffing shortage causes delays at O’Hare amid government shutdown

Flight Delays at Chicago O’Hare Airport Amid Government Shutdown

CHICAGO (WLS) — The ongoing government shutdown led to flight delays at Chicago O’Hare Airport on Tuesday. Although the airport was not very busy on Tuesday evening, travelers still experienced delays.

Earlier Tuesday, the FAA reported, “Departures to Chicago O’Hare International are delayed an average of 41 minutes due to other delays assigned to departures within 1,200 nautical miles.” This alert has since been removed from the FAA website.

Air traffic controllers are considered essential workers, so they must continue working during the shutdown; however, they are not receiving pay. This situation has left people taking off, coming home, or simply transiting through the airport feeling more than inconvenienced.

“We want to make sure we have air travel safe, and controllers focused not on their mortgages, not on the next paycheck, not on food on the table, but actually on making sure you and your family are safe,” said Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.

Despite these assurances, many passengers remain frustrated about being caught in the middle of a political standoff in Washington, D.C.

An FAA statement reads: “Due to a recent lapse in funding, we know there are many questions about flight delays and staffing shortages across the system. For real-time updates at U.S. airports, including staffing and weather, visit the FAA’s official website.”

‘Fake’ Madeleine McCann Sobs as Court Confirms She’s Not Missing Toddler… After She ‘Stalked’ Family and Claimed to Be Young Girl

**Court Confirms: Julia Wandelt Is Not Madeleine McCann**

*Published Oct. 7, 2025, 2:40 p.m. ET*

A disturbing individual who had been falsely claiming to be missing toddler Madeleine McCann was finally confronted by a judge, who confirmed she is, in fact, not the child, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

Julia Wandelt, 24, broke down in tears in court after hearing the news that she has no familial link to the McCann family.

### What Did The Court Have To Say?

Wandelt is currently on trial, accused of stalking Madeleine’s parents, Gerry and Kate McCann. Prosecutors explained that Wandelt “pursued that myth” by sending emails, making phone calls, and turning up uninvited at their home on multiple occasions.

During the proceedings, jurors were presented with “unequivocal scientific evidence” proving Wandelt is not related to the McCanns — despite her repeated claims of having memories of Madeleine’s childhood and disappearance.

Prosecutor Michael Duck stated, “Can we at this very early stage in the trial make this position clear – that Julia Wandelt is not Madeleine McCann.” This declaration caused Wandelt to break down in tears.

### Co-Defendant Also Accused of Stalking

Wandelt is not the only defendant facing the court. Co-defendant Karen Spragg, 61, is also accused of stalking and causing serious distress to Kate and Gerry, with alleged incidents spanning from June 2022 to February 2025.

### “She Pursued That Myth”

Prosecutor Duck further outlined Wandelt’s obsession:

“Her contention over the two and a half years that followed was that she must have been abducted and taken to Poland, where she lived with people who she was erroneously told were her parents.

You will hear instances where she claims evolving memories of what happened in May 2007. She pursued claims that she was Madeleine McCann and relentlessly contacted Madeleine’s parents over an extended period. She pursued that myth.”

Duck revealed that Wandelt obtained Kate McCann’s phone number in April 2024 and continued to push her false narrative. At one point, Wandelt even sent photos to Madeleine’s younger sister in an attempt to “persuade” her they were somehow related.

“There could never have been a legitimate belief by Julia Wandelt that she was Madeleine McCann,” Duck emphasized.

“At the time of Madeleine’s disappearance, Julia Wandelt was not the same age. She gathered numerous images of Madeleine McCann and other McCann family photos and tried to compare them with images of herself.”

### Arrest and Confrontation

Earlier this year, Wandelt confronted Kate McCann at her UK home, months before Wandelt was arrested at an airport on suspicion of harassment.

According to an insider, Wandelt flew to the UK in December accompanied by Spragg to plead her case and convince Kate that she was her daughter. The exchange was recorded on a phone Wandelt had in her pocket.

During the encounter, Kate is heard saying, “This is private property.” Wandelt pleaded, “Please, please! Only two minutes! I understand you!” but Kate insisted they leave. Spragg then asked, “I thought you wanted to find your daughter?” to which Kate replied, “I do, but I don’t need this,” before threatening to call the police.

Wandelt had multiple encounters with the McCanns, including one instance in which she claimed to have “results” from a new DNA test analyzed by “highly respected and recognized world expert, Dr. Monte Miller.”

On February 19, Wandelt was arrested at Bristol Airport on suspicion of stalking and harassing Gerry and Kate McCann.

### Background: Madeleine McCann’s Disappearance

Madeleine McCann vanished from a Portuguese hotel in 2007 and has not been seen since. Christian Brueckner is currently considered the prime suspect in her disappearance.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Begs Judge to Let Him Spend Remainder of his Four-Year Sentence at Low-Level New Jersey Prison in Order for Rapper to See Family

**Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Requests Transfer to Low-Security Prison for Drug Rehab and Family Visits**

*Published: October 7, 2025, 4:00 p.m. ET*

Rapper and mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has formally requested a judge to allow him to serve the remainder of his prison sentence at a low-security federal prison. According to RadarOnline.com, Combs, who was sentenced to 50 months behind bars and fined $500,000 following a conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, believes that Fort Dix in New Jersey would be better equipped to address his drug issues and help him maintain regular contact with his family.

### Combs’ Letter to the Court

On Monday, October 6, Teny Geragos, one of Combs’ attorneys, filed a letter urging the judge to recommend Combs’ placement at FCI Fort Dix. The letter stated:

> “In order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts, we request that the Court strongly recommend to the Bureau of Prisons that Mr. Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix for Residential Drug Abuse Program purposes and any other available educational and occupational programs.”

### Background of the Case

Combs’ eight-week trial brought to light his years-long battle with drug addiction and a history of domestic violence. During a dramatic six-hour sentencing hearing, both Combs and his six adult children made emotional pleas for leniency. His attorneys emphasized that their client is a “changed” man who should be given mental health treatment and enrolled in programs targeting domestic violence and substance abuse as part of his rehabilitation.

### Fort Dix: A Low-Security Facility with Strong Programs

Fort Dix is the largest single federal prison in the United States, housing approximately 4,100 men. The institution itself accommodates 3,800 inmates, while an adjacent minimum-security satellite camp holds 200 more. Located on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, just 75 miles from New York City, Fort Dix is classified as a low-security prison.

This classification means the facility has double-fenced perimeters, mainly dormitory-style housing or cubicles, and a strong emphasis on work and rehabilitation programs, according to the Bureau of Prisons.

### Notable Past Inmates and Security Concerns

Over the years, Fort Dix has housed many high-profile inmates, including reputed mobsters, drug traffickers, corrupt politicians, and controversial figures like Martin Shkreli.

During his incarceration, Shkreli was placed in solitary confinement following allegations that he used a contraband smartphone to operate his pharmaceutical company while behind bars—activities strictly prohibited for inmates.

The prison was once overseen by warden Lamine N’Diaye, who managed a Manhattan federal jail at the time financier Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide there in 2019. N’Diaye has since retired.

### Contraband Issues and Enforcement

In 2019, Fort Dix experienced issues with contraband smuggling via drones, bringing in prohibited items such as cellphones, tobacco, weight-loss supplements, and eyeglasses. The same year, a correctional officer pleaded guilty to accepting bribes to smuggle contraband into the facility.

### Life at Fort Dix: Food Options and Facilities

If Combs’ request is granted, the 55-year-old music mogul will have access to an extensive commissary selection, including snacks like pork rinds, plantain chips, Doritos, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and even octopus.

### Current Status and Sentence Details

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest in September 2024. The time already served there will be deducted from his overall sentence, making him eligible for release in roughly three years.

*Stay tuned for updates on Combs’ sentencing and incarceration arrangements.*

East Indians Demand Naming Of Mumbai Airport Terminal After Freedom Fighter Joseph ‘Kaka’ Baptista

Following the government’s decision to name the Navi Mumbai International Airport after D. B. Patil, a late local leader, members of the East Indian community have now urged authorities to rename the domestic terminal of the Mumbai airport in honour of freedom fighter Joseph Baptista, one of the city’s original inhabitants.

### Call for Recognition of East Indian Heritage

The East Indian community has drawn parallels between the histories of the two airports. While the Navi Mumbai airport was constructed on land acquired from Agris, Kolis, and other local castes, the Mumbai airport too was built on farmland belonging to East Indians, who are Roman Catholic converts from the same castes.

Community members argue that the contribution of East Indians, who gave up their ancestral land for urban development, deserves similar recognition.

### Honouring an Unsung Hero

Joseph “Kaka” Baptista, a close associate of Lokmanya Tilak, was a prominent freedom fighter, lawyer at the Bombay High Court, and also served as Mayor of Bombay.

Vicky Misquitta, from the Mobai Gaothan Panchayat’s Mumbai East Indian Bhumiputra Rights project, said that renaming one of the airport terminals after Baptista would be a fitting tribute to an unsung national hero and would acknowledge the East Indian community’s sacrifices.

“The East Indian community has a rich history, and their ancestral lands, including those in the Mumbai airport, are a testament to their significant contributions to the city as its indigenous people. The 7/12 extracts serve as proof of their ownership and connection to the land,” said Misquitta.

### Appeal for Government Consideration

Alphi D’Souza, MGP chief, whose family once owned land where the Mumbai airport now stands, commended the Navi Mumbai Agri community’s efforts to have the new airport named after D. B. Patil.

He urged the government to similarly honour Kaka Baptista for his immense contribution to India’s freedom struggle and for representing the voice of Mumbai’s original inhabitants.
