Seahawks Urged to Replace Struggling Player Before Trade Deadline

Another week of the NFL season passes, and yet another unfortunate clip circulates featuring Seahawks guard Anthony Bradford looking lost on the field. This week, Bradford made the rounds on Twitter after running into fellow offensive lineman Jalen Sundell and knocking over teammate Zach Charbonnet on a play that could have resulted in a large gain. While one play doesn’t define an entire performance — after all, it’s easy to pick apart most players by isolating a single clip — Bradford’s viral gaffes are just standout moments in a season marred by poor play.

### Bradford’s Ongoing Struggles

Bradford is currently one of the lowest-rated guards according to Pro Football Focus (PFF), ranking 73rd out of 82 eligible players. He has particularly underperformed in the passing game, where he ranks 80th in pass-block grade.

“All of the 12s could heartily concur, because it’s obvious from watching last week that Anthony Bradford’s play at right guard isn’t close to an elite level,” Richie Whitt writes for Sports Illustrated. He adds, “It’s not solely Bradford’s fault, but he shares some of the blame for Seattle ranking just 27th in the league at 3.7 yards per rush.”

Tim Weaver, another SI writer, discussed how Bradford has fallen short of expectations, especially after a promising preseason performance. “Bradford’s struggles are particularly disappointing this year because he appeared to have turned a corner during the preseason, when he was positively dominant facing second-string defenders,” Weaver explains. “Unfortunately, that great work in August turned out to be a mirage, as Bradford immediately regressed once the regular season began and he started lining up across from starters again.”

### Possible Trade Candidates

With the trade deadline approaching on November 4, Seattle has several interior offensive linemen to consider acquiring.

One name frequently mentioned is Saints right guard Cesar Ruiz. The 26-year-old was a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and has started 75 games over six seasons with New Orleans. Acquiring Ruiz would be a relatively big financial commitment for the Seahawks, as his cap hit jumps to $14.2 million over the next two seasons. However, the Saints are rebuilding and may be willing to part ways with the serviceable veteran.

Another potential source for upgrades is the Cleveland Browns, who have two veteran guards rumored to be available. Joel Bitonio is one of the most decorated players who could be dealt at the deadline. The 34-year-old has made seven Pro Bowls and been named an All-Pro five times throughout his career. Currently in the final year of his deal, Bitonio could serve as the perfect short-term addition for Seattle’s playoff push.

The other Browns option is Wyatt Teller. Teller, 30, has made three Pro Bowls and earned two All-Pro selections during his career. Like Bitonio, his contract also expires after this season. NFL analyst Dan Wilkins of theScore recently proposed a trade scenario where the Seahawks acquire Teller in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick.

As the deadline nears, Seattle will need to decide whether upgrading their offensive line through trades is the solution to their ongoing struggles at the guard position.

Trevon Diggs Injury Update: Cowboys Defender Remains in Concussion Protocol Ahead of Week 8

The Dallas Cowboys received an injury update on cornerback Trevon Diggs as they move past Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season and prepare for their upcoming matchup in Week 8.

Diggs suffered a concussion at home ahead of the Cowboys’ recent game against the Washington Commanders. The injury was significant enough to sideline him for the home contest, which Dallas won convincingly. Unfortunately for the star defender, he continues to remain in concussion protocol, according to reporter Clarence Hill Jr.

Diggs reportedly saw the team’s medical staff on Monday but has not yet fully recovered from the injury and was sent back home. Hill tweeted, “Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs is still in concussion protocol. He came in to see the medical staff on Monday and was sent home.”

Before the injury, Diggs participated in six games this season, starting in four of them. During his time on the field, he recorded 18 tackles and one tackle for loss (TFL).

**What’s Next for the Cowboys After the Trevon Diggs Update?**

It will take some additional time before Trevon Diggs can return to action as he continues to recover from the concussion. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have maintained strong momentum on offense.

Dallas benefited greatly from the return of star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who had missed the previous four weeks due to a high ankle sprain. Lamb wasted no time making an impact against the Commanders, dominating their defense and helping lead Dallas to a commanding 44-22 victory.

The Cowboys currently hold a 3-3-1 record on the season, placing them second in the NFC East standings. They trail the Philadelphia Eagles but remain ahead of both the Washington Commanders and the New York Giants. In the broader NFC rankings, Dallas sits 10th overall.

Looking ahead, the Cowboys will continue preparations for their Week 8 road game against the Denver Broncos. The matchup is scheduled for October 26 at 4:25 p.m. ET.

Former Rep. George Santos released from prison after Trump commutes his sentence

(CNN) Disgraced former Rep. George Santos, who had been serving a seven-year term for fraud charges that led to his ouster from Congress, was released from prison on Friday night after President Donald Trump commuted his sentence, his lawyer told CNN.

Trump first announced the commutation on Truth Social on Friday evening. According to attorney Joseph Murray, Santos’ family picked him up from the prison about five hours later.

“George Santos was somewhat of a ‘rogue,’ but there are many rogues throughout our Country that aren’t forced to serve seven years in prison,” the president wrote on Truth Social. “George has been in solitary confinement for long stretches of time and, by all accounts, has been horribly mistreated. Therefore, I just signed a Commutation, releasing George Santos from prison, IMMEDIATELY. Good luck George, have a great life,” Trump added.

Trump’s commutation comes just months after Santos, 37, surrendered on July 25 to serve 87 months in prison. Before he surrendered, Santos told Saudi outlet Al Arabiya English that he asked Trump for a pardon but believed he “got stonewalled.”

“I don’t think it made it to the president,” Santos said of his pardon request at the time. “Unfortunately, gatekeepers have blockaded for it to ever get to the president.”

But even from behind bars, Santos continued to make his case. According to his verified X page, he wrote an open letter to Trump earlier this week, pleading for “fairness” while also saying he takes “full responsibility” for his actions.

“Mr. President, I am not asking for sympathy. I am asking for fairness for the chance to rebuild. I know I have made mistakes in my past. I have faced my share of consequences, and I take full responsibility for my actions. But no man, no matter his flaws, deserves to be lost in the system, forgotten and unseen, enduring punishment far beyond what justice requires,” Santos wrote in the letter published in The South Shore Press.

The law firm that represented Santos celebrated the president’s move, telling CNN, “We applaud the President for correcting this injustice.”

Murray posted on X a message on behalf of Santos thanking GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene — who he said “fought like a lion” for him — as well as Lauren Boebert, Anna Paulina Luna, and former Congressman Matt Gaetz, whom he described as “in regular contact.”

Santos also expressed gratitude to “the greatest DOJ team ever assembled,” specifically naming Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, Associated Deputy AG Diego Pestana, and US Pardon Attorney Ed Martin, among others.

Martin wrote on X he was “honored” to have played “a small role” in Trump granting “clemency” to Santos, and thanked the president for “making clemency great again.”

Meanwhile, the commutation drew mixed reactions from lawmakers. Taylor Greene, who wrote a letter to Trump in August asking him to commute Santos’ sentence, also thanked the president in a post on X, adding that Santos “was unfairly treated and put in solitary confinement, which is torture!!”

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, however, slammed Trump for focusing on Santos instead of Americans’ health care — an issue at the center of the ongoing government shutdown.

“Donald Trump has time to free serial fraudster George Santos from prison. But he can’t be bothered to address the Republican healthcare crisis crushing working class Americans,” Jeffries said in a post on X.

In August 2024, the former congressman pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft and wire fraud charges stemming from activity during his 2022 midterm campaign.

“I deeply regret my conduct,” Santos said in court at that time. “I accept full responsibility for my actions.”

Santos was expelled from Congress in December 2023, before completing a full term in the US House, becoming only the sixth lawmaker ever to be expelled from the chamber.

During his short time in Congress, reports emerged of Santos having fabricated parts of his biography, including his employment history and education. He eventually admitted to doing that.

Santos represented parts of Long Island and Queens and attempted to run in another New York district before pleading guilty.

Santos had been serving out his sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fairton, southern New Jersey, per the federal Bureau of Prisons.

What women should know ahead of National Mammography Day

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Breast cancer affects thousands of women every year. According to Dr. Christine Zhang, “One out of eight women has the chance of developing breast cancer in their lifetime, and, unfortunately, one out of 42 women will die from the disease.”

Early detection is crucial, as it significantly increases the chances of survival. “The survival rate when breast cancer is detected early is quite substantial,” Dr. Zhang explained. “Stage 1 breast cancer has a five-year survival rate of 93%.”

Despite high survival rates and advances in treatment, doctors continue to see new cases of breast cancer. Dr. Zhang notes that many women remain hesitant to come in for their screening mammograms, often because of concerns about how the imaging is done and the discomfort it may cause.

The COVID-19 pandemic also contributed to a decline in screening rates, as fewer women sought medical appointments during that time.

At the newly opened Kaiser Permanente Fresno Orchard Plaza Medical Offices, mammogram screenings are now available to patients. Dr. Zhang, a Medical Oncologist, says routine screenings typically begin at age 40. However, women with higher risk factors may need to start earlier.

“Women with a known family history of a BRCA gene mutation or a strong family history of breast cancer in first-degree and second-degree relatives are recommended to begin screening at a younger age,” she said.

In addition to clinical screenings, Dr. Zhang emphasizes the importance of self-exams at home, particularly for younger women. “We recommend self-exams in the shower or after the shower for women of all age groups,” she advised.

Health experts stress that if you notice anything unusual, you should see your doctor immediately. They also encourage reminding the women in your life to schedule and keep their yearly mammogram appointments. Early detection saves lives.
