Diamonds Worth Rs 3 Crore Stolen from Gujarat Merchant: Borivali Police Register Case Against Accused

Mumbai: A case involving the theft of diamonds worth Rs 3 crore from a diamond merchant in Gujarat has come to light. The Borivali police have registered a case against Vikram Sanghavi for allegedly cheating. The accused is currently absconding, and the police are actively searching for him.

About The Case

According to the police, the complainant, Sheel Kordia, 21, a resident of Surat, Gujarat, runs a diamond trading business inherited from his ancestors under the name Lesing Diamond Company. Kordia frequently travels to different cities for business purposes.

Chaitanya Mehta, who resides in Mumbai, is a regular customer of Kordia and has purchased diamonds from him several times in the past. In September 2025, Mehta placed an order for diamond jewellery weighing 666.65 carats, valued at Rs 3 crore, with Kordia.

Mehta then sent his acquaintances, Jimit and Rakin, to Navsari, Gujarat, to collect the diamonds. On September 6, Jimit and Rakin visited Kordia’s company and obtained the diamonds as per the order.

Meanwhile, Mehta instructed Vikram Sanghavi to transport the diamonds to Mumbai. Following this, Jimit and Rakin handed over the diamonds to Sanghavi at Navsari railway station. However, during the transit, Sanghavi allegedly misappropriated the diamonds and failed to deliver them to Mumbai.

Following the incident, Sheel Kordia filed a complaint at Borivali Police Station. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against Vikram Sanghavi under Sections 316(2) and 316(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for embezzlement of diamonds.

The Borivali police are currently investigating the case and searching for the accused.

Bhopal: Probe Into Fake Cooperative Society Linked To Machhli

**Bhopal Crime Branch Intensifies Probe into Fake Fisheries Cooperative Society at Hathaikheda Dam**

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The crime branch has stepped up its investigation into a fake fisheries cooperative society allegedly controlled by the Machhli family. This society had been fraudulently operating at the Hathaikheda dam for decades.

Notices have been issued to the members of the cooperative society, and they have been asked to record their statements. Currently, members of the Machhli family are facing serious charges, including drug trafficking, illegal arms trade, and the unlawful grabbing of government land.

According to records, the Hathaikheda dam, which falls under the Bhopal district panchayat, was leased to the Machhli Palan Sahkari Samiti Maryadit in 1983. Although the rules mandated that local fishermen should be members of the society, it has come to light that the cooperative existed only on paper. The actual operations were controlled by Jalil Mohammed Khan, alias Neelu Miyan, a close aide of the Machhli family.

Despite the cooperative society being declared fake by the then Bhopal collector in 2019, Neelu Miyan continued fishing activities on behalf of the Machhli family until 2024.

The complainant, Pramod Lodhi, has provided all relevant documents to police officials. These documents revealed that some members of the so-called committee were already deceased.

Crime branch officials stated that members and caretakers of the dam are now being summoned for questioning. Further action will be taken based on the findings of these inquiries.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Shivam Pandey, a 23-year-old MBA student specializing in Hospital Management, was allegedly assaulted by his senior, Mahendra Chauhan. The incident reportedly occurred because Shivam refused to post an Instagram story in support of Shariq Machhli, a controversial figure linked to criminal activities.

According to Shivam’s complaint, the assault took place on Tuesday night when he stopped at a café in Indrapuri for tea. Mahendra confronted him about not sharing Shariq’s story on Instagram despite repeated instructions. The complaint states that Mahendra verbally abused Shivam, slapped him multiple times, and pulled his hair in front of bystanders and local residents.

Shivam further alleged that Mahendra has been aggressively running online campaigns to promote Shariq’s image and pressures youngsters to join these social media campaigns. Those who refuse reportedly face threats and physical attacks by Mahendra and associates of Shariq.

Following the complaint, the Piplani police have registered a non-cognizable report against Mahendra Chauhan. Police officials have confirmed that further investigations are underway.

The background of this case involves Shariq Machhli’s family members, including his nephew Yaseen and relative Shahwar, who were recently arrested for operating a drug and illegal firearms syndicate.
