**Cuatro “narcoterroristas” a bordo**

US warns of ‘imminent’ attack by Hamas on Palestinians that would violate peace deal

The United States has informed the guarantor nations of the Gaza peace agreement about credible reports indicating an imminent ceasefire violation by Hamas against the people of Gaza. This planned attack on Palestinian civilians would constitute a direct and grave violation of the ceasefire agreement and undermine the significant progress achieved through mediation efforts.

“The guarantors demand Hamas uphold its obligations under the ceasefire terms,” the statement said.

The State Department also warned that if Hamas proceeds with the attack, unspecified “measures will be taken to protect the people of Gaza and preserve the integrity of the ceasefire.”

“The United States and the other guarantors remain resolute in our commitment to ensuring the safety of civilians, maintaining calm on the ground, and advancing peace and prosperity for the people of Gaza and the region as a whole,” the statement added.

Earlier this month, former President Trump secured a historic peace deal between Israel and Hamas, ending nearly two years of fighting.

In the first phase of the deal, the 20 living hostages held by Hamas since October 7, 2023, were freed, along with some of the remains of the 28 deceased hostages. In return, Israel released more than 1,900 Palestinian prisoners.

However, as Palestinian civilians have returned home over the past week, they have been met with increased violence from Hamas, which has maintained control over the Gaza Strip for years.

Graphic footage surfaced earlier this week allegedly showing Hamas terrorists executing Palestinians in a street in Gaza, as the group attempts to eliminate its political rivals.

### Hamas Executes Rivals, Cracks Down on Civilians in Post-Deal Gaza Power Vacuum

The disturbing footage prompted an immediate rebuke from Trump, who suggested that non-U.S. forces might be deployed if Hamas continues these executions.

“If Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the Deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them,” the former president said on Thursday.

Former Rep. George Santos released from prison after Trump commutes his sentence

(CNN) Disgraced former Rep. George Santos, who had been serving a seven-year term for fraud charges that led to his ouster from Congress, was released from prison on Friday night after President Donald Trump commuted his sentence, his lawyer told CNN.

Trump first announced the commutation on Truth Social on Friday evening. According to attorney Joseph Murray, Santos’ family picked him up from the prison about five hours later.

“George Santos was somewhat of a ‘rogue,’ but there are many rogues throughout our Country that aren’t forced to serve seven years in prison,” the president wrote on Truth Social. “George has been in solitary confinement for long stretches of time and, by all accounts, has been horribly mistreated. Therefore, I just signed a Commutation, releasing George Santos from prison, IMMEDIATELY. Good luck George, have a great life,” Trump added.

Trump’s commutation comes just months after Santos, 37, surrendered on July 25 to serve 87 months in prison. Before he surrendered, Santos told Saudi outlet Al Arabiya English that he asked Trump for a pardon but believed he “got stonewalled.”

“I don’t think it made it to the president,” Santos said of his pardon request at the time. “Unfortunately, gatekeepers have blockaded for it to ever get to the president.”

But even from behind bars, Santos continued to make his case. According to his verified X page, he wrote an open letter to Trump earlier this week, pleading for “fairness” while also saying he takes “full responsibility” for his actions.

“Mr. President, I am not asking for sympathy. I am asking for fairness for the chance to rebuild. I know I have made mistakes in my past. I have faced my share of consequences, and I take full responsibility for my actions. But no man, no matter his flaws, deserves to be lost in the system, forgotten and unseen, enduring punishment far beyond what justice requires,” Santos wrote in the letter published in The South Shore Press.

The law firm that represented Santos celebrated the president’s move, telling CNN, “We applaud the President for correcting this injustice.”

Murray posted on X a message on behalf of Santos thanking GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene — who he said “fought like a lion” for him — as well as Lauren Boebert, Anna Paulina Luna, and former Congressman Matt Gaetz, whom he described as “in regular contact.”

Santos also expressed gratitude to “the greatest DOJ team ever assembled,” specifically naming Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, Associated Deputy AG Diego Pestana, and US Pardon Attorney Ed Martin, among others.

Martin wrote on X he was “honored” to have played “a small role” in Trump granting “clemency” to Santos, and thanked the president for “making clemency great again.”

Meanwhile, the commutation drew mixed reactions from lawmakers. Taylor Greene, who wrote a letter to Trump in August asking him to commute Santos’ sentence, also thanked the president in a post on X, adding that Santos “was unfairly treated and put in solitary confinement, which is torture!!”

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, however, slammed Trump for focusing on Santos instead of Americans’ health care — an issue at the center of the ongoing government shutdown.

“Donald Trump has time to free serial fraudster George Santos from prison. But he can’t be bothered to address the Republican healthcare crisis crushing working class Americans,” Jeffries said in a post on X.

In August 2024, the former congressman pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft and wire fraud charges stemming from activity during his 2022 midterm campaign.

“I deeply regret my conduct,” Santos said in court at that time. “I accept full responsibility for my actions.”

Santos was expelled from Congress in December 2023, before completing a full term in the US House, becoming only the sixth lawmaker ever to be expelled from the chamber.

During his short time in Congress, reports emerged of Santos having fabricated parts of his biography, including his employment history and education. He eventually admitted to doing that.

Santos represented parts of Long Island and Queens and attempted to run in another New York district before pleading guilty.

Santos had been serving out his sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fairton, southern New Jersey, per the federal Bureau of Prisons.

1932 Douglas D32 Greyhound at No Reserve

This 1932 Douglas D32 Greyhound is a remarkable vintage motorcycle that underwent refurbishment during the pandemic lockdown of the early 2020s. The seller purchased the bike in 2024, and it is now being offered at no reserve, complete with service records and a clean Florida title listing it as a 1945 model.

The bike features a transverse-mounted 494cc opposed-twin engine paired with a hand-shifted four-speed transmission. The frame is a black-finished double-downtube rigid design, complemented by a chrome-plated 3.25-gallon fuel tank. The tank is distinctively decorated with blue top and side panels, black rubber knee grips, and bordered with the Clan Douglas tartan pattern showcasing dark green, navy, royal blues, black, and white.

Additional equipment includes an adjustable double-sprung girder fork that provides the bike’s sole source of suspension, a front-hinged double-sprung black leather solo seat, and black-painted fenders. The motorcycle is outfitted with a pedestrian-slicer number plate, a headlight, a taillight, a center stand, and a rear luggage rack fitted with a pair of brown leather tool bags.

The wheels consist of chrome 19-inch stainless-steel rims laced with stainless-steel spokes, mounted with Avon tires — a Speedmaster MkII at the front and a Safety Mileage MkII at the rear. Braking is handled by 8-inch drums, with the rear drum integrated with the sprocket and operated by a left-foot pedal.

The chrome rear-offset handlebar is secured below the steering neck top nut and equipped with end-pivot clutch and front-brake hand levers on the left and right, respectively. It also features a CEV light switch, a timing adjustment lever, John Bull grips, and a twist-grip throttle. The only instrumentation is a Lucas ammeter inset atop the headlight. Without an odometer, the true mileage of the bike remains unknown.

Beneath the frame, the fore-and-aft-mounted 596cc side-valve opposed-twin engine was rated at approximately 14 horsepower when new. It includes removable cylinder heads, enclosed valve gear, a cast-in induction system, and a horizontally configured Amal updraft carburetor. Additional features are dry sump lubrication, a kickstarter, and a chrome low-mount two-into-one exhaust system with a fishtail muffler. The lighting circuit is powered by a B.T.H. “pancake” dynamo mounted directly above the induction system.

Notably, the seller states that the engine currently does not start, attributing the issue to a sticking magneto and clutch. The driveline comprises a multi-plate dry clutch, a hand-shifted four-speed gearbox, and a drive chain.

A photo in the gallery highlights some rust visible on the underside of the fuel cap, demonstrating the bike’s authenticity and wear consistent with its age.

This Douglas D32 Greyhound is a captivating piece of motorcycling history, offered ready for restoration or display, perfect for collectors and enthusiasts of classic British motorcycles.

– 7 p.m. Miami
– 8 p.m. Buenos Aires
– 6 p.m. Bogotá

Apple reportedly cuts iPhone Air production while other models thrive

**Apple Slashes Production of Ultra-Thin iPhone Air Amid Weak Demand**

Apple has reportedly decided to cut production of the ultra-thin iPhone Air due to weaker-than-expected demand. The company had high hopes for this model, believing it would finally win the affection of users after previous attempts with the mini iPhone and a lower-priced non-Pro version of the Pro Max had fallen short.

### The iPhone Air: Sleek and Impressive

You don’t need to be an iPhone fanatic to appreciate the design of the iPhone Air. At just 5.6 mm thick, it is the thinnest iPhone ever made—almost 19% thinner than the iPhone 6, which measured 6.9 mm and previously held the title since its 2014 release.

Despite its slim profile, Apple managed to pack enough power into the iPhone Air to provide all-day battery life. The device houses a 3,149 mAh battery in eSIM-only models and a 3,036 mAh battery in versions with a physical eSIM, showcasing impressive engineering to balance form and function.

### Camera and Pricing

The iPhone Air features Apple’s 48MP Fusion camera on the rear. However, unlike the Pro models, it lacks separate Ultra Wide and Telephoto lenses. The device supports up to 2x optical zoom but does not offer ultra wide-angle photography.

Starting at $999, Apple also offers customers the option to finance the phone over 24 months at $41.62 per month.

### Production Cuts and Market Reception

According to a report by South Korea’s The Elec and analysis from a Mizuho Securities analyst, Apple is reportedly cutting iPhone Air production by approximately one million units due to lower-than-anticipated demand. Meanwhile, production of other models is increasing, with the iPhone 17 seeing a hike of two million units, and the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max boosted by one million and four million units respectively.

Analysts suggest consumers are gravitating toward the more familiar iPhone 17 series models rather than experimenting with the iPhone Air. This consumer preference is reflected in a recent survey asking whether users would purchase the iPhone Air:

– 12.5% responded: *Yes, it’s just so cool looking.*
– 50% replied: *No, I don’t want to give up on “Pro” features.*
– 37.5% said: *I’m not buying an iPhone model.*

### Why the iPhone Air Might Be Struggling

Ironically, one reason behind the iPhone Air’s lagging sales could be the improvements introduced in the base iPhone 17 model. This year, Apple outfitted the entry-level iPhone 17 with a ProMotion display, featuring a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. Additionally, its video playback battery life increased significantly to 30 hours, up from 22 hours in the previous iPhone 16.

### Current Availability and Delivery Times

Despite the positive reception of other models, the iPhone 17 remains in high demand with order wait times of two to three weeks in countries including the U.S., U.K., France, China, Japan, and Switzerland.

### The iPhone Fold: A Future Vision?

While the iPhone Air may not be meeting sales expectations, it may still serve an important purpose for Apple—as a proof of concept. Bloomberg has described the upcoming foldable iPhone as essentially two iPhone Air units placed side-by-side.

Initially, reports suggested that the foldable iPhone, dubbed the iPhone Fold, would launch next year. However, new information points to a possible delay until 2027, as Apple reportedly has yet to finalize key design components such as the hinge mechanism.

### Review and Final Thoughts

In our recent review, the iPhone Air scored 7.4 out of 10 points. We praised its fast, bright, and vivid display and unique, ultra-thin design. However, the review also noted shortcomings, such as weak and flat mono speakers, subpar rear camera performance, and the device’s tendency to run hot under load.

The iPhone Air is available in four colors: Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold, and Sky Blue.

A Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Actor Absolutely Hated Working On Seinfeld

On the *Seinfeld* episode “The Caddy” (January 25, 1996), Kramer (Michael Richards) hires a golf caddy named Stan (Armin Shimerman) to aid him not only in his golf game but also in his life. Although Stan doesn’t play a large part in the episode, he ends up offering legal advice to Kramer late in the story.

Thanks to a series of convoluted plot twists, Kramer is involved in a car wreck after seeing a woman on the street wearing a brassiere and no shirt in public. Stan encourages Kramer to take the woman, Sue Ellen (Brenda Strong), to court. The episode’s climax, a clear lampoon of the infamous O. J. Simpson murder trial, features Sue Ellen being forced to try on a brassiere in front of the judge. She happily complies, proving the bra wasn’t hers.

Shimerman was a notable guest star on *Seinfeld*, which makes it curious that his role wasn’t larger in the episode. At the time, Shimerman had recently risen to fame playing the Ferengi Quark on *Star Trek: Deep Space Nine*, a role he held from three years earlier through to the end of that series in 1999.

Before his *Deep Space Nine* success, Shimerman was a prolific television actor, securing numerous guest roles in many hit shows dating back to the early 1980s. His credits include appearances on *Hill Street Blues*, *Cagney & Lacey*, *Remington Steele*, *The Facts of Life*, *Alice*, and *Sledge Hammer!*. He also enjoyed a recurring role on *Beauty and the Beast* and appeared in two episodes of *L.A. Law*. And that’s just a fraction of his extensive filmography.

Despite his impressive resume, Shimerman has admitted that he wasn’t particularly happy on the set of *Seinfeld*. At a pop culture convention called Supercon in 2017, a fan asked him about his experience working on the show. He confessed to feeling isolated, explaining that the four lead actors—Michael Richards, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander, and Jerry Seinfeld—weren’t welcoming or inclusive. According to Shimerman, they barely spoke to him between takes.

When asked what it was like to work with the *Seinfeld* cast, Shimerman was frank. “Sure,” he said, “I hated them. Hated them!” He continued:

> “They were non-communicative, ugly, non-responsive, insular. I was a guest star. The episode’s called ‘The Caddy.’ I played a caddy. I played *THE* caddy. I was on that show for six days, five days? Every day, every day nobody said a word to me except cues. Nobody came up and started a conversation. I was already on *Deep Space Nine*. I was already a series regular on a TV show. That’s not acceptable. It’s not acceptable. If you have a guest star, if you have a day player, if you have an extra, you do not avoid them. You speak to them. We’re all human beings together.”

Shimerman went on to say, “Those four people on *Seinfeld* never said boo to me.” He then recounted a brief anecdote about an uncomfortable moment on set: he, Louis-Dreyfus, and Seinfeld had to sit together on a narrow bench for about 30 minutes while the crew reset some lighting. During that time, neither Louis-Dreyfus nor Seinfeld spoke to him. Instead, they talked over him, discussing their Christmas plans and upcoming vacations. Shimerman understandably felt ignored and left the set without any pleasant thoughts about his co-stars.

“It’s as though I wasn’t there,” he said.

He returned to *Deep Space Nine* with pleasure, no doubt happy to work with co-stars who at least spoke with him. Shimerman would go on to have a recurring role on *Buffy the Vampire Slayer*, voice multiple characters on *The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy*, and appear in a hundred other films and TV shows.

One can only hope he never had as cold an experience on a set as he did with *Seinfeld* again.
