Encinitas surfer Alyssa Spencer wins third SurferGirl Surf Pro

Encinitas professional surfer Alyssa Spencer won SurferGirl Surf Pro on Nov. 9 in Jacksonville Beach, Fla. The World Surf League Qualifying Series (QS) win was the 22-year-old Spencer’s third time in her career donning the Super Girl cape, the first ever to do it at the QS level, tying Hawaiian surfer Coco Ho. “Incredibly blessed to be a part of such an amazing event,” Spencer posted on Instagram, celebrating her historic win. “I attended my first SuperGirl Pro when I was seven years old, bright eyed, and dreaming of doing what those girls were doing one day. It was also my very first QS event I did at 12 years old where I finally got to surf against some of my idols. Over the years these events have inspired and pushed me in so many ways and been a huge part of my career.” The SuperGirl victory was also Spencer’s second this month, going back-to-back after winning the La Marginal Surfing Pro in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on Nov. 2. According to a press release, Spencer now moves to number one in the North American region in the QS tier, and currently sits in the 11th spot on the Challenger Series with the hopes of returning to the WSL Championship Tour, the highest level of surf competition. “I’m just always trying to have fun. I love surfing so much, and having fun is what it’s all about,” said Spencer in the news release. “I would just say thank you so much (to Coco Ho) for all the inspiration that she gave me. It’s really special to have my name right there next to hers as the only two girls to have won three. I came close in Oceanside, and I really wanted to get it here, so I’m so grateful it happened. I miss my family and thank you to my mom, dad, my grandma, and my brother for watching. I love you guys.”.

SoftBank (SFTBY) Stock Slides 6.6% Amid Chip Sector Selloff

TLDRs: SoftBank shares fall 6. 6% as Asian chip sector reacts to Nvidia’s modest US drop. SK Hynix, Samsung, and TSMC also see sharp declines following Nvidia market reaction. AI server demand and GPU orders remain strong despite short-term selloff pressures. ABF substrate capacity and advanced packaging could shape 2025 semiconductor growth. 💥 Find the Next KnockoutStock! Get live prices, charts, and KO Scores from KnockoutStocks. com, the data-driven platform ranking every stock by quality and breakout potential. SoftBank Group Corp. (SFTBY) shares slid 6. 6% on Friday amid a broader selloff in Asian semiconductor stocks. The decline comes after Nvidia, the US-based chipmaker, reported strong third-quarter earnings and a bullish outlook but still saw its shares drop 3% in overnight trading. The selloff rippled across the region, affecting both large and smaller chip manufacturers. SoftBank, which owns the British semiconductor designer Arm, was among the hardest hit, falling $4. 05 to close at $56. 93. Other major Asian chip players also experienced steep losses. SK Hynix dropped nearly 10%, Samsung Electronics lost over 5%, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) fell more than 4%, and Foxconn declined by 4%. Renesas Electronics, Tokyo Electron, and Lasertec also recorded notable declines. SoftBank Group Corp., SFTBY Nvidia’s Numbers Don’t Calm Markets Despite the drop in share prices, Nvidia’s quarterly results highlighted record growth in AI-related demand. The company reported Q3 data center revenue of $51. 2 billion, surpassing expectations. CEO Jensen Huang noted that “cloud GPUs are sold out” and highlighted AI chip orders totaling $500 billion for 2025-2026. The company shipped 13, 000 GPU samples in the quarter, including its new Blackwell DGX integrated AI server to OpenAI, while Oracle announced AI clusters scaling to over 131, 000 Blackwell GPUs. Industry benchmarks also favor Nvidia’s new hardware. The Blackwell GPU achieved a 2. 2x performance improvement over the previous Hopper generation in MLPerf machine learning tests. However, the market remains cautious, partly due to tight supply chains for ABF substrates and advanced packaging components required for AI hardware assembly. Supply Constraints and 2025 Outlook The selloff in SoftBank and other Asian chip stocks may partly reflect concerns over supply and packaging bottlenecks. ABF substrate capacity, the specialized layers used to route power and signals beneath chips, is projected to reach $11. 11 billion in 2025, growing at a 9. 4% CAGR. New entrants in China, such as Anhui Splendid Technology, Aoxin Semiconductor Technology, and Keruisi Semiconductor Technology, are challenging established leaders that currently hold 70% of the market. Advanced packaging and substrate supply timing could significantly influence the AI server surge expected in 2025. Analysts note that while the short-term market reaction is negative, long-term demand for AI infrastructure, including pretraining, post-training, and inference workloads, continues to grow. SoftBank and other suppliers with expansions already locked in could benefit from these trends. Investor Takeaways While SoftBank’s 6. 6% drop may appear concerning, the broader context suggests this is a market overreaction rather than a signal of declining demand. Nvidia’s AI-related guidance remains strong, and infrastructure investment for AI is expected to increase significantly over the next few years. For investors, current valuations in some Asian chip firms could offer a strategic entry point ahead of sustained 2025 growth. As AI continues to drive demand for high-performance chips, SoftBank’s Arm holdings and regional semiconductor suppliers remain central players in a market poised for expansion, despite short-term volatility.

Taiwan set to avoid ‘punishing’ 300% tariffs on semiconductor exports, says report — new trade deal could spur $400 billion investment commitment from island nation

Taiwan National Science and Technology Council Minister Wu Cheng-wen said that the U. S. is not pushing through with its threat of a 300% tariff on chips, at least for those coming from the island. According to the Financial Times, Taiwan is currently finalizing a trade deal with the U. S. while awaiting the results of the U. S. Department of Commerce’s Section 232 investigation. At the moment, U. S. President Donald Trump has applied a 20% tariff on Taiwanese goods, except for semiconductor imports. “They understand that punishing Taiwan is not in their interests,” Wu told the Financial Times. He also said that the island will help the United States with the development of its semiconductor industry, especially with building science parks. “Of course, there’s the recipes of how to make the chips, but it’s also about the science park management, attracting companies, integrating academic research with industry,” he adds. “No other country has done what we have done.” Taiwan currently has three science parks and ten technology industrial parks that make it easier for companies to focus on innovation instead of red tape. These parks serve as nodes for the island’s high-tech industries, facilitating collaboration for firms within these zones. Aside from that, they also have a fixed lease rate, so companies do not have to worry about skyrocketing rental prices just to stay inside these zones. This model has enabled Taiwan to produce some of the most advanced tech institutions in the world, with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the crowning jewel of the island’s silicon shield and headquartered in Hsinchu Science Park, being one excellent example. Aside from helping the U. S. revive its chipmaking industry, an unnamed U. S. government official suggested that the new trade agreement would also result in a US$400 billion investment commitment from Taiwan. This will be much easier for the island, as TSMC is already investing $165 billion in Arizona to build new fabs and even an R&D center. Other Taiwanese companies, like GlobalWafers, are also spending billions of dollars to expand their presence within the United States. This move might seem like an erosion of the island’s leadership in semiconductor manufacturing, but it’s also taking steps to develop a second “silicon shield.” Taiwan has allocated US$3 billion to turn it into an “AI island” while the government is also focusing on building up other industries, like drones, robotics, and medical technology. More importantly, it has restricted the export of TSMC’s most advanced process technologies to help keep it secure at least in the near future.

Nuremberg 2025 A good movie for grownups about important historical events by Danusha V. Goska

https://www.frontpagemag.com/nuremberg-2025/ Nuremberg is a 2025 historical drama written, directed, and co-produced by James Vanderbilt. Nuremberg is a misnomer; the film is not an exhaustive treatment of the thirteen trials of Nazi war criminals that took place in Nuremberg, Germany, between 1945 and 1949. A more accurate title for the film would be Five Men at Nuremberg, those five men being SCOTUS Justice Robert H. Jackson (Michael Shannon), psychiatrist Dr. Douglas Kelley (Rami Malek), Hermann Goering (Russell Crowe), Sergeant Howard Triest (Leo Woodall), and Colonel Burton C. Andrus (John Slattery). Jackson played a key role in initiating the Nuremberg trials. Goering was a top Nazi defendant. Kelley was a thirty-two-year-old Army psychiatrist and lieutenant colonel tasked with assessing the Nazi defendants’ mental fitness to stand trial. Triest was a US Army interpreter, and Andrus was the commandant of the Nuremberg prison. Richard E. Grant stars as British prosecutor Sir David Maxwell-Fyfe, and Colin Hanks plays a US Army psychologist, Dr. Gustave Gilbert. Nuremberg is roughly two and a half hours long. Nuremberg opened in the US on November 7, 2025. Please go see this movie. Buy a ticket; see it in a theater. It’s a good movie, and it’s for grown-ups. If we want movies like this, we have to support them with our ticket purchases. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a prestige Hollywood production that managed to do all of the following. Nuremberg has a coherent plot. In spite of its runtime, the film’s pace is fast. I’ve seen it twice, and I was never bored. It features recognizable and coherent human characters facing significant obstacles and, in some cases, overcoming those obstacles; in other cases, characters are crushed by those obstacles. Each character’s fate makes sense in relation to the storyline they are living out and their own internal makeup. This equation – a recognizable human character v. a challenge we all might face and rising or falling in the face of that challenge – has been the fulcrum of drama at least since the ancient Greeks. The actors taking on these roles are charismatic, award-winning professionals who know how to command the screen, arrest your attention and sympathy, and immerse you in the story. In interviews they convey a sense of respect and commitment to the grave subject matter. Russell Crowe as Goering is getting all the attention, but I was in awe of Leo Woodall’s low-key performance as Triest. Towards the end of the movie, after I’d been thoroughly entertained by all that had preceded this moment, in a quiet, subtle series of scenes, Woodall / Triest surprised me by wringing spontaneous tears from my eyes. I don’t want to spoil this moment for you, but it’s one of the most beautiful and profound moments I’ve ever seen in any film, and if you take a quick bathroom break, or dip too deeply into your popcorn, you will miss it, so pay attention. I like watching Rami Malek in anything and his intense, driven, intelligent performance is exactly right for Kelley. I fell in love with John Slattery’s unsmiling depiction of Colonel Andrus, the commandant of the Nuremberg prison. When Andrus throws Hess against a wall and informs him that he is never to give another sieg heil during his remaining time on earth, I wanted to award Slattery an honorary Oscar. Grant brings old school glamour; he takes Goering down with a velvet glove. Secondary cast members, especially those playing Streicher and Ley, are very good. The film revisits an historical era and the heaviest of topics, but the script is witty and crisp. It moves like a well-oiled machine. It asks why people commit atrocities and how we can understand and respond to those who commit atrocities. Amidst the unavoidable horror, there are earned moments of laugh-out-loud humor, for example, Nazi Julius Streicher’s response to a Rorschach test. Nuremberg looks good. You’ve got a bombed out post-war German city, throngs of extras in period clothing, (mostly Hungarian; the movie was filmed in Hungary), and what appear to my civilian eyes as authentic military uniforms. The Palace of Justice courtroom, site of the Nuremberg trials, “was replicated to the inch using the actual building plans” according to Vanderbilt.

MAGNET Exclusive: Premiere Of Leon Majcen’s “Don’t Leave The Light On”

“‘Don’t Leave The Light On’ pretty much sums up my life these past few years being on the road-highs and lows and everything in between,” says Nashville-based singer/songwriter Leon Majcen. “I’m thankful I get to make a living this way, and I don’t plan on changing anything anytime soon.” It’s certainly a far cry from the commercial fishing docks of Madeira Beach, Fla., where Majcen worked as recently as 2021 before setting his sights on Music City. Growing up in the town of Safety Harbor near Tampa, he was drawn to the vivid storytelling of Townes Van Zandt, John Prine and Guy Clark. His preferred setlist wasn’t exactly tourist-friendly, but Majcen gave it shot anyhow, enjoying some success in local bars before heading to New York University for college. The job filleting and packing fish came when Majcen returned home after tiring of the big city. These days, though, he’s opening for Turnpike Troubadours, Grammy winner Margo Price and others as he rides the momentum of his startlingly mature debut, Better Days (Cloverdale), which features contributions from fellow neo-folk travelers Kyle McEvoy (a. k. a. the Field Tapes), the Desert Willows and the Cloverdale Family Band. The striking new video for “Don’t Leave The Light On” comes courtesy award-winning director Ethan Locy. “Working with Ethan on this was a great,” says Majcen. “He knew how to get the point across without it being too on the nose.” We’re proud to premiere Leon Majcen’s “Don’t Leave The Light On.” -Hobart Rowland.

The Acolyte creator says she was “not surprised” her Star Wars show got axed because it “was always a major risk”, but she was “surprised by how it was handled”

Over a year after The Acolyte was axed on Disney Plus after only one season, the show’s creator Leslye Headland has admitted she wasn’t surprised by the decision, but she didn’t expect how the news was delivered to the fans, and to her. “I was not surprised by it. I think I was surprised at the swiftness of it and the publicness of it. I was surprised by how it was handled,” she told The Wrap. “But once I was getting particular phone calls about the reaction and the criticism and the viewership, I felt like ‘OK, the writing’s on the wall for sure.'” The Acolyte was reportedly canceled due to poor viewership, although it was later revealed that it was the second most-viewed Disney Plus show last year. Headland explained that, with Star Wars, “you’re not just measured within the marketplace that you happen to be in at that time, you’re measured against every other Star Wars show. We hit the Nielsens a couple times,” she continued, “not every week or anything like that, but a couple times it poked through. I feel like for a launch of a first season show that was trying different things, I think it could have been worth it to allow the audience it was meant for to find it. But that wasn’t up to me. So I fully respect the decision, even if I’m sad about it.” Despite getting a good reception among critics (it stands at 79% on Rotten Tomatoes), the show became a target of racist online attacks. Lead actor Amandla Stenberg called out “a rampage of. hyper-conservative bigotry and vitriol, prejudiced hatred and hateful language” towards the cast, and admitted the cancellation was “not a huge shock.”.

Injective Integrates Chainlink to Deliver Ultra-Fast, On-Chain Data Feeds

Injective has announced the integration of Chainlink (LINK) Data Streams to ensure its developers enjoy one of the fastest times-to-market. The price of LINK has, however, declined below a crucial support level of $13 amidst the broad market pullback. Injective is the latest to integrate Chainlink (LINK) Data Streams as part of its effort to revolutionize the network and create a better environment for developers to operate. This, interestingly, occurred on the first day of Injective EVM’s mainnet launch. This deployment, coupled with the Chainlink integration, on-chain financial modules, and the iBuild AI dApp creator, is expected to ensure developers enjoy one of the fastest times-to-market in the industry. As noted in our earlier publication, Chainlink Data Streams is known for its low-latency market data with up to sub-second delivery. This now gives Injective developers full access to Chainlink’s battle-tested data stream markets across the Injective ecosystem. On top of these, using the Chainlink Data Streams in Injective would improve Institutional reliability, according to the official announcement. This includes collaborations with Institutional data giants like ICE Markets and FTSE Russell. Injective would also benefit from full programmability. For now, Injentive’s flagship Decentralized Exchange (DEX) Helix Markets is reported to be the first Decentralized Application (DApp) on the network to upgrade to Data Streams as its official Oracle solution to power the Real World Assets (RWA) and its crypto. Chainlink Data Streams and the US Equities The Chainlink’s Data Streams had been heavily embraced by several platforms and markets, including the US Equities and Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). As detailed in our earlier news story, Data Streams was said to have been integrated to provide real-time and high-throughput pricing for the likes of SPY, CRCL, QQQ, NVDA, AAPL, MSFT, etc. According to reports, it is now available on about 37 different blockchain networks. In a report, Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, highlighted that a recent collaboration with Kamino, GMX, and two others could accelerate the plan to bridge the gap between traditional finance and the decentralized finance world. With Chainlink Data Streams’ fast, reliable, and context-rich market data, production-ready tokenized financial products tied to U. S. equities and ETFs can now be launched directly on-chain. This is a significant leap forward for tokenized markets-closing a critical gap between traditional finance and blockchain infrastructure. According to our earlier update, Jupiter Exchange has also integrated Chainlink Data Streams to enhance accurate and real-time pricing in its perpetual trading. Commenting on its recent initiatives, the Chief Product Officer of Chainlink Labs, Apurva Joshi, disclosed that the company has been powering protocols and markets, and now nations. Despite these developments, the price of LINK is struggling to hold above a crucial support level as it falls by 11% in the last 24 hours, 14% in the last seven days, and 30% in the last 30 days. At the time of writing, Chainlink was trading at $12. 3. As indicated in our earlier coverage, renowned analyst Ali Martinez has cautioned that the price range between $13 and $26 is a “no trade zone.” According to him, traders should remain patient and wait for a clear breakout.

This Mountain State Takes The Crown As America’s Best For A Luxurious Winter Vacation

As temperatures start to drop and rumors of snow begin, visions of a winter vacation in the mountains spring to mind. Many U. S. states offer top-rated ski slopes, with terrain ranging from beginner to advanced. But there are a number of destinations that transform the classic ski trip into a truly five-star getaway, even for those who don’t ski. Think Alpine-inspired resorts, private members’ clubs on the slopes, stylish shopping in town, and candlelit fine dining to close out an adventure-filled day. Wander, a vacation rental site, compiled a Winter Vacation Index that aggregates a wide range of data points per U. S. According to the index, Colorado sets the standard for the most luxurious winter vacation. However, serious skiers shouldn’t worry that it’s all fluff: Colorado also has the absolute best skiing in the U. S. Whether you’ve secured the Epic, Ikon, or Indy ski pass for the season or are just looking for a weekend escape out west, Colorado beckons skiers of all abilities, as well as discerning travelers seeking the pinnacle of lodging, dining, shopping, and more. With 41 ski resorts in Colorado to choose from, where does one begin? While every traveler has a different concept of a luxurious winter vacation, whether that entails heli-skiing in untouched powder or getting sprayed with actual Champagne on the slopes, Colorado delivers. Since all this extravagance comes at a sky-high price, it should come as no surprise that Colorado’s Aspen Snowmass Resort is the priciest vacation destination in the U. S. In fact, POWDER Magazine rounded up the six most expensive ski resorts in the country, and half of them are found in Colorado: Aspen, Vail, and Beaver Creek. Those seeking the most glamorous experience in the Rocky Mountains should beeline to the celeb-ridden Alpine playground of Aspen. The priciest vacation destination in the country, according to Optimos Travel, Aspen is a well-preserved 19th-century mining town. Its charming streets are dotted with a wealth of designer boutiques, as well as buzzy restaurants (Bosq even has a Michelin star.) Luxury lovers seeking Wild West chic should check into the historic Hotel Jerome, while The Little Nell promises ski-in, ski-out accessibility and spacious private residences. Aspen-Snowmass is composed of four mountains that have something for everyone, from adrenaline-pumping blues and blacks on Aspen Mountain to beginner-friendly Buttermilk. At Aspen Highlands, apres-ski at the on-mountain Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro consists of Veuve Clicquot Champagne showers against breathtaking panoramas. Vail Resort is the largest interconnected ski resort in Colorado, sprawling over 5, 300 skiable acres. Vail’s famous Back Bowls challenge expert skiers, while Vail Ski and Snowboard School introduces beginners to the sports. At the base of the mountain, Vail Village is reminiscent of a quaint village in the European Alps with its chalet-inspired architecture and pedestrian-friendly thoroughfare. Luxury travelers can stay in cozy suites at the Bavarian-style Sonnenalp, an elegant resort with private ski lounges and Rocky Mountain charm, or the multi-bedroom residences at the mountain-modern Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail. About 10 miles west of Vail is Beaver Creek, the luxurious and less crowded resort Colorado locals choose over Vail and Aspen. Families especially love Beaver Creek’s slower pace and pampering vibe (freshly baked cookies are served slopeside at the end of the day). The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch and Residences at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek are lavish ski-in, ski-out bases for conquering Beaver Creek’s 2, 000 acres of trails.
