Louisiana Tech defeats Ecclesia 89-37

RUSTON, La. (AP) — Kaden Cooper scored 20 points as Louisiana Tech defeated Ecclesia 89-37 on Sunday. Cooper also contributed eight rebounds, three steals, and three blocks for the Bulldogs (5-3).

Avery Thomas added 17 points along with eight rebounds, while AJ Bates recorded 14 points and 10 assists. The Royals were led by Adrian Nelson, who finished with 12 points. Christian Ford added 10 points for Ecclesia, an NCCAA program.

Louisiana Tech took the lead for good with 17:15 remaining in the first half. By halftime, the Bulldogs were ahead 40-11, with Bates scoring eight points in the first half.

The Bulldogs extended their lead to 63-18 in the second half, fueled by an 8-0 scoring run. Cooper led the team with 13 points in the second half.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) Derrian Ford scored 21 points as Temple beat Princeton 79-75 on Tuesday in the Adventure Bracket at the ESPN Events Invitational. Ford shot 5 for 11 (2 for 6 from 3-point range) and 9 of 10 from the free-throw line for the Owls (4-2). Aiden Tobiason scored 16 points while going 5 of 7 from the floor, including 2 for 4 from 3-point range, and 4 for 5 from the foul line. Jordan Mason shot 2 of 4 from the field and 7 for 10 from the line to finish with 11 points. The Tigers (3-5) were led in scoring by Jackson Hicke, who finished with 22 points. Jack Stanton added 18 points and five assists for Princeton. CJ Happy also put up 11 points. Ford scored 11 points in the first half and Temple went into the break trailing 36-32. Temple pulled off the victory after a 10-0 second-half run erased a five-point deficit and gave them the lead at 48-43 with 12: 41 left in the game. Harper puts up 22, Oral Roberts defeats Kennesaw State 91-83

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) Ty Harper and Connor Dow each scored 22 points to help Oral Roberts defeat Kennesaw State 91-83 on Tuesday. Harper added five rebounds for the Golden Eagles (3-5). Dow shot 8 for 12, including 5 for 7 from beyond the arc. Jack Turner shot 4 for 6, including 3 for 4 from beyond the arc to finish with 13 points. The Owls (4-2) were led in scoring by Braedan Lue, who finished with 17 points and nine rebounds. Simeon Cottle added 15 points for Kennesaw State. Kaden Rickard also had 14 points and three steals. Oral Roberts entered halftime up 37-34. Dow paced the team in scoring in the first half with 10 points. Amari McCottry scores 23 to lead Saint Louis over Lindenwood 109-66

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Amari McCottry scored 23 points off the bench to lead Saint Louis to a dominant 109-66 victory over Lindenwood on Monday night. McCottry also contributed nine rebounds and four steals, helping the Billikens improve to 3-0 on the season.

Dion Brown was efficient for Saint Louis, shooting 6 of 7 from the field and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line, finishing with 17 points. Ishan Sharma added 16 points, hitting 4 of 8 from the field, including an impressive 4 of 6 from beyond the arc, and went 4 of 5 from the charity stripe.

For Lindenwood, Jadis Jones led the Lions with 16 points. Dontrez Williams added 13 points along with four steals and two blocks, while Clayton Jackson chipped in 11 points.

Saint Louis took control of the game with 19:14 remaining in the first half and never looked back. The Billikens held a 43-27 lead at halftime on their way to the convincing win.

Johnson’s 32 lead VMI past Southern Indiana 78-74

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — TJ Johnson scored 32 points as VMI defeated Southern Indiana 78-74 on Friday. Johnson also contributed 14 rebounds and three steals, leading the Keydets to a 2-0 start this season.

Tan Yildizoglu added 12 points and five assists, while Cal Liston was efficient from beyond the arc, going 3-for-3 on three-pointers and finishing with nine points.

For Southern Indiana, Ismail Habib led the team with 26 points. Kaden Brown supported with 14 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, and Trey Thomas contributed 12 points.

The Screaming Eagles fell to 0-2 with the loss.

Sy’s 12, Lake’s game-winner lead Oregon State over North Dakota State, 67-65

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Isaiah Sy led Oregon State with 12 points and Josiah Lake scored the game-winning layup with two seconds left, as the Beavers edged North Dakota State 67-65 on Monday in a season-opening contest for both teams.

Sy also contributed five rebounds for Oregon State. Lake finished with 10 points, shooting 3 of 5 from the field and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line, while adding eight rebounds. Dez White scored 10 points, going 3 of 8 from the field, including 2 for 4 from beyond the arc.

For North Dakota State, Markhi Strickland led the scoring with 17 points. Treyson Anderson added 10 points, and Andy Stefonowicz contributed nine points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
