Central Valley Blue Star Moms send holiday care packages to troops

**Central Valley Blue Star Moms Ramp Up Holiday Care Package Drive to Support Military Members**

CENTRAL VALLEY, Calif. (KFSN) — A local valley group is taking extra steps to ensure military members know they are supported both at home and abroad. The Central Valley Blue Star Moms are currently in the midst of their holiday package drive, assembling care packages filled with essentials and snacks.

The group notes that, in the aftermath of the recent government shutdown, the need for these care packages has increased. As a result, they are boosting the number of packages sent out this year and have decided to collect donations year-round to maintain steady support.

While care packages are typically sent overseas, this year some deliveries are staying closer to home. “Now we’ve determined that everybody needs to see some love from home. If you’re stationed in another state, you’re still away from home, you still deserve some love, you still deserve a package,” said Central Valley Blue Star Mom Jackie Trafton.

Recently, care packages were sent to sailors stationed at Lemoore Naval Air Station as part of this expanded outreach.

Action News spoke with one of the members helping to assemble the boxes, veteran Tim LoBretto, who understands firsthand the significance of receiving a care package. “I spent 20 years in the U.S. Navy, so I know what this means. I try not to be too emotional, but receiving packages from home when you’re far away is really impactful. Typically, we open them up and share them with the people in our squadrons, detachments, and our units,” he shared.

The Central Valley Blue Star Moms continue their mission to support military personnel, reminding everyone that a little love from home can go a long way.

Mary Katharine Ham Goes After Children’s YouTuber Ms. Rachel for Criticizing the Cutting of SNAP

We certainly are plagued with Rachels: Rachel Maddow, Rachel Bitecofer, Rachel Zegler, and children’s YouTuber Ms. Rachel, who, as we recently reported, was named by *Glamour* as one of its Women of the Year.

This editor admits to having seen only very short clips of Ms. Rachel, as that’s all he could stand. Despite having an audience of children, Ms. Rachel often dips into adult subjects, like politics.

As we shared in August, Ms. Rachel presented a video featuring a “starving” child from Gaza — who also happens to star in a slew of cooking videos featuring lots of food.

Speaking of food, Ms. Rachel is now educating children about the slashing of SNAP benefits because of the Schumer shutdown. Ms. Rachel has nearly 17 million YouTube subscribers.

Mary Katharine Ham wasn’t having it. Do Democrat senators watch Ms. Rachel? Because they’re the ones using SNAP benefits as “leverage.”

She’s no Mr. Rogers.

**Editor’s Note:** The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown over healthcare for undocumented immigrants. They own this.
