Tiffany Haddish reveals her surprise marriage on road trip: I want to ‘hold myself accountable’

**Tiffany Haddish Marries Herself During Girls’ Trip to Africa**

Wedding bells are ringing for Tiffany Haddish—well, for herself, that is. During a recent vacation to Africa with some close girlfriends, the actress and comedian surprised everyone by having a self-marriage ceremony.

“I thought to do that because first, I wanted to have a little party,” Haddish, 45, exclusively told The Post. “Second, I also wanted to hold myself accountable for some things.”

The “Girls Trip” star embarked on a real-life girls’ trip across Africa with her four best friends in the new Peacock docuseries *Tiffany Haddish Goes Off,* premiering November 13. She explained that although it might look like she’s doing well to her friends and the world, there are “things that I have not been honoring, for me.”

Haddish is coming off a challenging period that included two DUI-related arrests in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, she also faced backlash on social media after posting a TikTok during her Africa trip, marveling at Zimbabwe having a grocery store.

“I feel like it was just like a constant attack on her when she didn’t have any bad intent,” said her friend Sparkle Clark, who appears in the series. “I just talked to Tiffany and I was like, ‘I think that before you post [on social media] you should call us or talk to us about it first.’ Tiffany is not this person who they make her out to be. She really has a kind heart.”

Haddish admitted that dealing with social media backlash feels “like walking on a Lego.” She added, “I’ve got to be more careful about what I post. It’s irritating, but it’s a part of the business.”

In the series, Haddish travels with childhood friends Selena Martin, Shermona Long, and Sparkle Clark through locations including Zimbabwe and Cape Town, South Africa. Their friendships pre-date Haddish’s fame.

“What an honor that these women have gone on this life journey with me since we were little girls. But also it’s a testament to how awesome we all are at communication. I think a lot of friendships fall apart because they don’t communicate,” Haddish told The Post.

She recalled a time after a radio interview when one friend called a week later to share that she’d felt “hurtful.” “We’re gonna talk about it. We have conversations and [it leads to] much growth. So to be able to go to Africa together is something that I’ve been talking about for years,” Haddish said. She jokingly added that her “bad” friends “didn’t make it” and “didn’t get to go on a trip,” but her close pals were there for her impromptu self-marriage ceremony.

Haddish was previously married to William Stewart from 2008 to 2013 and was in a relationship with rapper Common from 2020 to 2021.

“This marriage to me has been going very good. We have been having a fantastic time seeing who our third is going to be,” Haddish joked. “Who is gonna be the third wheel?”

She is also close with comedian Kevin Hart, who once helped her financially during a difficult time when she was homeless and living in her car. When asked if she told friends like Hart about the marriage, Haddish quipped, “You just told him.”

“It’s not everybody’s business that I’m in a relationship with me. I mean, first of all, my relationship with me is my relationship. So I haven’t told everybody,” she explained. “Sometimes I wear my wedding ring and people are like, ‘Oh, my God, where did you get that?’ I’m like, ‘Africa. I’m married!’”

Surprisingly, Haddish revealed that the self-marriage has positively impacted her dating life. “I’m getting more dates now when I tell [men] I’m married. If you tell a man you’re married, but you’re willing to go out with him, he’s like, ‘Oh, she’s a freak!’”

The Emmy-winning actress emphasized the importance of her self-marriage. “If you going to keep any promises in life, the promises you make to yourself are the main ones you need to be keeping. That’s the longest relationship you’re going to have, and there’s no ceremony for you, to you. There’s no ceremony for that,” she said. “So, f-k it, I’m marrying me.”

Exclusive: Ryan Dunn ‘honing in’ confidence level as he grows into Year 2 with Suns

**Ryan Dunn’s Rise with the Phoenix Suns: Confidence Fuels Rookie’s Breakout Season**

PHOENIX – If you had told Ryan Dunn he would start 44 of his 74 games with the Phoenix Suns during his rookie season, he’d likely have felt honored and grateful – but not exactly surprised.

Playing alongside stars like Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, and Kevin Durant isn’t for the faint of heart. Competing with potential Hall of Famers and being challenged every day can be exhausting. However, it’s a challenge the Virginia standout has taken great pride in.

### A Rookie Who Didn’t Play Like a Rookie

Guys like Durant and Beal have praised Dunn for his enthusiasm, defensive intangibles, and contagious energy. Booker noted that Dunn was one of the rookies who didn’t play like a rookie.

During media day, Dunn revealed how he unlocked his next level of success with the Suns: confidence. Fast forward nine games into the current season, and his answer remains the same.

“Like we talked about before, from last year going to this year and training camp, just trusting the work I put in and being able to grow and just trust in the process of what I’ve been doing and not living in what’s either good or bad,” Dunn said in an exclusive interview with ClutchPoints before Thursday’s game. “Just honing in on trying to get better every single day. I think that’s been good. This season starting off, I had some ups and downs, but it’s still trusting myself, coming out here. These guys in this locker room helped me a lot.”

### Confidence That Doesn’t Go Unnoticed

One of the first to witness Dunn’s growth in confidence was Devin Booker. Throughout the tumultuous 2024-25 season, Booker consistently pointed to Dunn as one of the Suns’ foundational pieces. Even if his offensive game wasn’t fully developed, his defense, hustle, and sheer willpower more than made up for it.

Importantly, Dunn was routinely matched up against the opposition’s best offensive player. This was highlighted during a recent Sunday game against the San Antonio Spurs, where Dunn raved about matching up with Victor Wembanyama. Though he wasn’t guarding the Spurs’ star center for the entire game, there were moments where this second-year player more than held his own.

The physicality, smart positioning, and communication with his teammates on help defense stood out. Perhaps the biggest leap, however, has been Dunn’s offensive assertiveness. In the third quarter, he challenged Wembanyama at the basket and drew a foul — something that might not have happened a season ago.

While this growth surprises some, Booker saw it coming. “He’s more aggressive,” Booker said after the Suns’ 130-118 win over the Spurs. “I think tonight felt good for him from 3. He’s pretty alert. He was here all summer, he and all the young guys. I came back, and I wasn’t ready for what I walked into. It was like he didn’t take a day off, it seemed like. So, I was excited to see him get out here and showcase that.”

### Relatability and Camaraderie Fuel Growth

The Suns’ locker room vibes reflect a healthy camaraderie and a shared sense of growth and understanding. Players like Dunn, Oso Ighodaro, Mark Williams, and Collin Gillespie occupy unique roles. Some, like Williams, have battled health setbacks, while others, including Gillespie and Ighodaro, have been waiting for legitimate opportunities.

Dunn fits right in. During the season, he and teammates like Ighodaro and Williams have grown close, both on and off the court. For example, moments before a recent game interview, Dunn was joined by the starting center, highlighting their friendship and the relatability among the group.

“It’s cool because we’re all the same age, which is really fun. We all kind of went through the same stuff; people who might have been in the league for three or four years or people who have been here for like nine or ten years – we can all talk about stuff,” Dunn said.

“For me, it helps having that line between us, asking questions with the veteran guys, the older guys, being able to help the younger guys along the way. It’s been something me and Oso (Ighodaro) have been looking to do this year.”

### Jordan Ott Shows Pure Trust in Dunn

Unlike former head coach Mike Budenholzer, there is a high level of trust between first-year coach Jordan Ott and the budding star Dunn. Yes, Dunn still makes occasional offensive and defensive mistakes — as all players do — but that characteristic might be exactly what helps unlock his true potential as a two-way player.

Last year, teammates gave Dunn the confidence. Dunn developed self-confidence through reps. However, at times, he seemed to lose trust in Budenholzer when offensive struggles surfaced. Now, with Ott, who helps Dunn piece together the mental puzzle, there’s a newfound dynamic that has become an underrated element of his progression.

In fact, Ott anticipated a breakout from Dunn and continues to commend how his confidence instills belief in everyone around him.

“The greatest way to enhance your confidence is to prepare, and he’s put the work in,” Ott said after the Sunday game. “You can fake it for a while, but in this league, when you’re out on the floor, mano-a-mano every night, if you haven’t put the time in, the work in, good chances are it’s not sustainable.”

“Not only do you have to prepare to grow your own confidence, but when a teammate like that (Devin Booker) throws the ball, that means he’s confident in him too.”

Ryan Dunn’s journey with the Phoenix Suns is a testament to hard work, mentorship, and the power of confidence. As he continues to develop both offensively and defensively, the Suns are undoubtedly getting a rising star ready to make an even bigger impact.

Russian Crypto Scammer Roman Novak Found Murdered in Dubai

**From Crypto King to Crime Victim: The Tragic Demise of Roman Novak in Dubai**

When Roman Novak, a Russian entrepreneur once convicted of defrauding investors in elaborate crypto schemes, left for a meeting outside Dubai in early October, few imagined it would be his last. Hours later, Novak and his wife Anna vanished. Within weeks, their bodies were discovered mutilated near the border with Oman. The grim outcome, authorities now say, was the result of a failed ransom operation linked to Novak’s concealed digital wealth.

### From Prison to Dubai’s Crypto Hype

Before entering Dubai’s glittering financial world, Novak had already made enemies. Known in St. Petersburg’s investment circles as a smooth-talking crypto evangelist, he swindled millions through false promises and flashy projects. Novak’s conviction in 2020 for large-scale fraud earned him a six-year sentence, but after serving only part of it, he resurfaced in the Emirates, rebranding himself as the visionary founder behind a new app called Fintopio.

The platform promised innovation. Instead, it attracted suspicion and, according to investigators, may have reconnected Novak with the same underworld networks that once bankrolled his scams.

### The Setup

The trip that ended in tragedy was supposed to secure new investors. Novak arranged a private meeting near Hatta, a remote desert town far from Dubai’s skyscrapers. He and Anna reportedly changed vehicles before arriving at the meeting point—a detail that now haunts the investigation. Their driver returned to the city alone.

When calls went unanswered for days, Novak’s family in Russia raised the alarm. Investigators were able to piece together a chilling sequence of events: the couple had been lured to a rented villa, held captive, and pressured to unlock crypto wallets reportedly worth tens of millions. When the kidnappers failed to access the funds, the encounter turned fatal.

### The Aftermath

According to reports from Russian media, seven suspects (including several men from St. Petersburg and one from Kazakhstan) have been detained across two countries. Early findings suggest the operation was meticulously planned, using encrypted communication and crypto transfers to obscure involvement.

For Novak’s two young children, the nightmare has left them orphaned. Their grandparents flew to Dubai to recover what little remained of their family’s life.

### Crypto’s Shadow Economy

The murder underscores how the blurred lines between digital assets and organized crime continue to widen. As crypto wealth grows harder to trace, criminals are turning to physical coercion—wrench attacks, ransom abductions, and blackmail—to force victims to surrender their private keys and access their digital vaults. Security experts warn that Novak’s fate illustrates a dark evolution in crypto crime: the shift from online scams to real-world violence.

> “Every public display of crypto wealth can become a target marker,” says cybersecurity analyst Jameson Lopp, who has long cautioned against revealing financial details online.

### An Industry Haunted by Its Own Success

The crypto world has long prided itself on independence from banks and governments. But Novak’s death exposes the paradox at its heart: the same decentralization that promises freedom also invites lawlessness. Following international outrage, UAE and Russian authorities are now collaborating to trace Novak’s missing digital assets and dismantle the network believed to have orchestrated the crime. Interpol is reportedly monitoring several related transactions involving wallets tied to Novak’s projects.

### A Final Irony

In life, Novak thrived on risk. In death, he became its warning. What began as a quest to rebuild his fortune in a crypto hub ended as a brutal cautionary tale—a stark reminder that the digital frontier can be as dangerous as any physical one.

“This is horrible”: Patriots fans panic as Kayshon Boutte goes out after suffering hamstring injury vs. Falcons

New England wide receiver Kayshon Boutte exited Sunday’s matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in the second quarter after reportedly pulling his hamstring. The Patriots ruled him out early in the third quarter, ending what was shaping up to be a promising performance.

His absence quickly sent fans on X into a frenzy. One fan lamented, “This is horrible.” Another expressed frustration, writing, “NOOOOOO WHAT THE FUCK.”

“Hamstring injury for Boutte? Pats WR corps just took a dump. Rough blow, hope he bounces back strong!” added another fan. More reactions poured in:

– “Not good, prayers up Boutte,” one fan commented.
– “Who would have thought no Kayshon Boutte would hurt the Patriots offense this much?” said another.
– “Crazy, Kayshon Boutte gets ruled out and now the offense at a standstill??” tweeted yet another.

Before the injury, Boutte had established himself as one of Drake Maye’s most reliable weapons. Entering Week 9, he had recorded 23 receptions for 431 yards and five touchdowns across eight games. Unfortunately, Boutte did not record a catch before leaving the game. When he was declared out, New England was leading Atlanta 21-14.

With Boutte sidelined, DeMario Douglas and Kyle Williams took on a heavier snap count to fill the void. Douglas stepped up significantly, becoming Maye’s top option. By the time New England confirmed Boutte would not return, Douglas had caught four passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Highlights included a 16-yard scoring reception in the opening quarter and a 58-yard catch that set up an 11-yard touchdown pass from Maye to Stefon Diggs.

Patriots coach Mike Vrabel spoke about Boutte’s development on October 20, crediting his improved communication and maturity for his breakout season.

“I think he communicates better,” Vrabel told reporters. “I just think he’s a better communicator, whether that’s anything that he has to deal with outside of work or outside of football, family, or just talking in the building. I think that’s improved.”

Boutte faced long odds to earn his role after an offseason filled with speculation about his roster status. He competed against veterans such as Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas, and Mack Hollins, as well as rookie Kyle Williams. Despite the challenges, Boutte had solidified his place on the team—until the unfortunate injury on Sunday.

Patriots fans will be hoping for a swift recovery as New England looks to maintain offensive momentum moving forward.

U.S. retailers left short-changed as penny production ends

**Penny Production Halted in the U.S., Retailers Scramble to Adjust Pricing and Cash Transactions**

Now that the United States no longer makes pennies, gas stations, fast-food chains, and big-box stores are rushing to adjust prices and round cash transactions, a shift that could potentially affect their profits.

Pennies are disappearing faster than retailers anticipated following President Donald Trump’s decision earlier this year to halt production of the one-cent coin. Retail groups recently expressed frustration to Reuters over the lack of clear guidance from the Trump administration and lawmakers. This ambiguity has forced many businesses to round down prices to avoid upsetting customers or violating laws in certain states—a move that could cost high-volume retailers significant revenue.

The National Retail Federation (NRF) reported that the shortage of pennies has impacted retailers in both urban and rural areas, showing no clear geographic pattern. State restaurant associations have also voiced concerns about the scarcity of pennies.

“Any merchant that accepts cash is grappling with this,” said Dylan Jeon, senior director of government relations at the NRF, whose members include Walmart, Target, Macy’s, and Old Navy.

### Stores Take Action Amid Shortage

Several major convenience store chains have started warning customers about the penny shortage:

– **Sheetz**, a family-owned convenience store, posted signs at one of its Pennsylvania locations stating: “The U.S. Mint will no longer produce pennies, so we are short on change!” The signs encourage customers to use cashless payment options, round up purchases to support charity, or exchange $1 in spare pennies for a free self-serve drink.

– **Kwik Trip**, based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, announced that its 850 stores across the Midwest will round cash transactions down to the nearest nickel.

At a Dallas Kwik Trip store, a sign notifies customers: “The U.S. Treasury has stopped making pennies and we may experience shortages.”

Meanwhile, **Kroger**, one of the largest grocery chains in the U.S., told Reuters it is still assessing the impact of the penny shortage. Many of its 2,700 locations have displayed signs asking customers for exact change.

Other big chains, such as a CVS in Alexandria, Virginia, have also posted notices requesting exact change due to “penny shortage.”

The Treasury Department has not responded to multiple requests for comment on the issue.

### Lessons from Other Countries

Several countries—including Canada, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand—have phased out their lowest-value coins. They now round cash transactions up or down to the nearest five cents while keeping electronic payments exact. These measures have cut minting costs and simplified cash handling for retailers.

In the U.S., phasing out pennies would require similar rounding practices, adjustments to cash registers, and clear communication to consumers. Such steps could deliver comparable savings and efficiency gains.

However, several states—like California, New York, and Illinois—have consumer protection laws mandating exact change on cash transactions. This creates legal uncertainty as pennies disappear from circulation. Retail groups say these laws make adjusting prices or rounding totals risky, potentially leading to fines or customer complaints.

### Seeking Consistent Rules for Rounding

Although President Trump’s directive initiated the end of penny production, Congress retains authority over coinage. Legislation may still be necessary for a permanent discontinuation.

The NRF has been lobbying the Trump administration and Congress to provide consistent guidance, particularly regarding rounding practices for transactions.

“What’s most helpful in the near term is clarity on rounding practices — whether retailers can round up or down on transaction totals or change,” Jeon explained.

In a letter dated September 30 to congressional leaders, a coalition of trade organizations representing gas stations, convenience stores, travel centers, and grocery stores warned that “if these remedies are not addressed in short order, it will be challenging to legally engage in cash transactions with customers in growing swaths of the country.”

### Impact on Retail Operations

Love’s Travel Stops, which operates more than 640 locations in 42 states, said the phaseout of penny production is already affecting its retail operations.

“If one of our stores runs out of pennies, all change on cash transactions will be adjusted in favor of the customer and Love’s will cover the difference,” a company spokesperson said. “This is a temporary measure while we work toward a long-term solution.”

Several months after Trump ordered the halt in penny production, the Treasury Department placed its final order for blank penny planchets in May. Some Federal Reserve Bank sites, responsible for distributing coins to banks and credit unions, have already stopped fulfilling penny orders.

### Penny Production Costs and Savings

Producing a penny currently costs more than its face value—about 3.69 cents per coin in recent years. Ending penny minting is projected to save the government roughly $56 million annually.

There are approximately 114 billion pennies currently in circulation in the United States, but the Treasury says they are significantly underutilized.

### The Penny’s Place in History and Public Opinion

The penny was among the first coins produced by the U.S. Mint after its establishment in 1792. Supporters argue that the penny helps keep consumer prices down and serves as a source of income for charities.

Critics view the coin as a nuisance that often ends up discarded in drawers, ashtrays, and piggy banks.

“I can’t even tell you the last time I carried pennies or even loose change when I left the house,” said Pennsylvania resident Sandy Berger, 45. “I really don’t think people will care to see them gone.”

As the U.S. adjusts to life without pennies, retailers and lawmakers alike face the challenge of finding practical solutions that balance consumer convenience, legal requirements, and economic efficiency.

Bitchat hits #2 on app charts in Jamaica as Hurricane Melissa strikes

Jamaicans have rushed to download Jack Dorsey’s decentralized peer-to-peer messaging app, Bitchat, as the fatal Hurricane Melissa continues to rip through the Caribbean. Bitchat, which uses Bluetooth mesh networks for internet-free, encrypted communication, is now the second-most downloaded app on the Apple App Store and Google Play in Jamaica. The app offers a vital lifeline for 2.8 million people as internet coverage continues to falter in the region.

Bitchat only trails the weather forecast platform Zoom Earth, indicating that two of Jamaica’s most basic needs right now are to know the weather and to communicate with one another.

CNN reported on Wednesday that Hurricane Melissa has killed over 30 people in the Caribbean, including at least 23 in Haiti, while countless homes and businesses have been destroyed.

Until recently, adoption of decentralized, encrypted messaging apps had been driven mainly by users leaving centralized communication platforms that may censor content or impose other restrictions. However, Bitchat has since become a critical solution for people in countries where internet access has been disrupted—whether due to government interference or natural disasters.

In September, Bitchat downloads surged in Nepal amid government corruption and a social media ban that blocked Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and YouTube, triggering widespread protests. Downloads also rose in Indonesia a week earlier amid protests. A similar increase occurred in Madagascar later that month amid demonstrations over ongoing water and power cuts.

Meanwhile, the European Union has been mulling the controversial “Chat Control” law, which would eliminate encrypted messaging. This law would force apps like Telegram, WhatsApp, and Signal to allow regulators to screen messages before they are encrypted and sent.

The proposal, aimed at spotting child abuse material, was moving closer to passing in October before Germany expressed opposition, arguing that scanning private messages is unconstitutional. The vote has now been postponed, with another vote scheduled for early December.

Executive compensation remains a hot-button issue every proxy season, even though average pay support levels have remained steady or are rising. This year, Pfizer made a notable change by extending the vesting cycle in its long-term incentive plan (LTI), giving executives two additional years to meet the required performance criteria. We believe such adjustments can better align executive incentives with long-term company performance.

Shareholder proposals related to environmental and social issues declined in both volume and support during this season. Despite this shift, these topics continue to be important considerations in our voting decisions and engagement efforts.

Seahawks Receive Major Defensive News, Insider Says

The Seattle Seahawks are getting healthy in a hurry—and just in time for the second half of the season. According to ESPN’s Brady Henderson, the Seahawks will have several key defensive players returning from injury following their bye week, including safety Julian Love, cornerback Devon Witherspoon, and safety Nick Emmanwori.

“The Seahawks will get Julian Love (four missed games) and Devon Witherspoon (five) back post-bye. Nick Emmanwori (three and most of a fourth) also missed time,” Henderson reported.

Love has missed four games with a hamstring injury, while Witherspoon has been sidelined for five with a shoulder issue. Emmanwori, the team’s promising rookie safety, missed three games and most of a fourth after suffering an early-season knee injury.

### Defense Holds Strong Despite Absences

Despite the absences of these key players, Seattle’s defense has quietly been one of the league’s best. The Seahawks are allowing just 19.4 points per game—the sixth-fewest in the NFL—and maintaining a slightly better defensive record than division-leading San Francisco. This performance is especially impressive considering they’ve played most of the last month without three starters in the secondary.

### Depth Players Step Up

Seattle’s defensive backfield has been held together by unsung contributors. Ty Okada, a third-year defensive back who made the 53-man roster as a special-teams standout, has drawn praise from coaches for his versatility and tackling in space. Defensive backs Josh Jobe and Coby Bryant have filled in admirably; both recorded five solo tackles against the Texans, with Jobe also knocking down a pair of passes.

The Seattle defensive front has shown why the Seahawks are trending in an elite direction. DeMarcus Lawrence registered two tackles for losses and a sack against the Texans, while linebackers Ernest Jones (who led the game with 11 tackles) and Uchenna Nwosu were active in many aspects of the defense.

### Why It Matters

Getting Love and Witherspoon back will change the complexion of Seattle’s defense entirely.

Witherspoon, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2023 draft, was one of the NFL’s most disruptive slot defenders in 2023. He finished with 16 pass breakups and 3 sacks and has maintained that strong production into 2024.

Love, meanwhile, led the team in interceptions and forced fumbles in 2024. He brings critical communication and leadership on the back end.

The Seahawks (5-2, 2nd in NFC West) will need both players as they prepare for a pivotal stretch that includes games against the Washington Commanders, Arizona Cardinals, and Los Angeles Rams. Seattle will especially need its full defense for late-season matchups against the Indianapolis Colts, the Rams again, and the San Francisco 49ers to close out the season.

Having a healthy secondary also allows Seattle to be more aggressive with blitz packages and tighter man-to-man coverage.

### What’s Next

Seattle returns from its bye week to face the Commanders in Week 9—a matchup that should serve as a test run for the unit’s restored lineup, depending on whether Jayden Daniels returns from a hamstring injury.

With depth players gaining valuable experience during the injury stretch, the Seahawks could soon field one of the NFL’s deepest and most dynamic secondaries.

If the first half of the season proved Seattle could survive without its stars, the second half could show just how dominant it can be with them back.
