Disease-Ridden Homosexuals Stage Border ‘Kiss-In’ To Protest Trump Immigration Policies

A group of HIV-positive men gathered at the U.S.-Mexico border on Sunday and staged a coordinated “kiss-in,” aiming to confront what they described as discrimination and hostile immigration policies under President Donald Trump.

The demonstration took place at Friendship Park/Parque de la Amistad, located between California and Mexico, as activists marked the run-up to World AIDS Day, according to The Advocate. MPact Global Action for Gay Men’s Health and Rights officials organized the event.

The group said they intend to normalize public displays of affection by people living with HIV, push back against stigmas surrounding sex and dating, and highlight concerns that queer migrants face under Trump-era border enforcement.

Andrew Spieldenner, MPact’s executive director, told The Advocate that the group deliberately sought a high-visibility protest at the border.

“As one of the only openly HIV-positive Executive Directors of a global organization, I am inspired and heartened by this highly visible action for the rights of all people living with HIV, especially queer migrants, when there’s so much fear and disinformation out there,” Spieldenner said. “Our communities are powerful when we come together.”

Research from the Williams Institute estimates that roughly 640,000 non-U.S. citizens identify as LGBTQ+ in the United States, including as many as 288,000 undocumented immigrants. Activists claim these migrants face heightened vulnerability under Trump’s immigration policies.

Advocacy groups have accused U.S. detention centers of denying lifesaving HIV medications and tolerating violence against LGBTQ+ detainees. Alex Garner, MPact’s senior director of strategic initiatives, said the border demonstration sought to challenge those conditions.

“MPact works in collaboration with local communities to create the International HIV Kiss-in because it’s a bold, provocative, and revolutionary act to publicly demonstrate the sexuality of people living with HIV and declare the human rights of queer migrants,” Garner explained. “We’ve transcended borders of sexuality and of gender, and borders cannot restrict our fight for queer migrants and people living with HIV as we utilize the power of a kiss.”

Migrants moving through Mexico toward the United States have shown documented HIV prevalence ranging from roughly 0.6% to 2% in studies conducted since 2020. A large analysis of 9,108 Central American migrants found a 0.71% overall rate and significantly higher levels among transgender migrants.

Additional research in the Tijuana-San Diego border region reported a 0.63% HIV prevalence among migrants in 2021, showing a consistent pattern of sub-1% infection rates across major transit points.

A separate surveillance effort by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) found about 2% HIV prevalence among migrants tested at Mexico’s southern border during 2022-2023.

‘It’s a Miracle They Survived’: As Hostages Finish at Special Medical Unit, Lifelong Recovery Begins

JERUSALEM, Israel After the October release of the remaining twenty live hostages from Gaza, they immediately received medical treatment and psychological care before being released to their families. However, that is only the beginning of their recovery. In a symbolic gesture, doctors at the Rabin Medical Center near Tel Aviv recently turned off the lights in their hostage care unit, as the last living hostage left for home. Professor Noa Eliakim-Raz told CBN News, “We have to be very careful, you know, to interpret pictures. It’s a bit more complicated than the pictures, of course. The minute they come back, the first thing we do is we actually see that there is nothing, you know, that there’s no emergency medical emergency or mental emergency.” During the last two years, doctors at the Rabin Center treated 40 returning hostages, including 5 of the last 20 that Hamas released in October. Eliakim-Raz admitted, “We hear terrible stories. We hear, really, stories that you can’t sleep at night after hearing, and some of them were kept in such small spaces they couldn’t even stretch out their hands. The food they were eating, or not eating, the variety everything affects their physical and mental state.” Professor Eliakim-Raz, who oversaw the unit at Rabin, said the medical staff had to learn and develop protocols as they went along. She noted, “And we built that. It’s new medicine. Of course, there is not a ‘hostages’ medicine. It’s not a field you learn in medical school.” The professor told CBN News that while doctors thoroughly checked their newly freed patients, just dealing with injuries from October 7th can revive the trauma, and just leaving the hospital is not the end of the journey. “Some of the returnees that returned more than six months ago are still going through medical procedures, surgeries. It can teach us about the situation; the fact that people are standing and smiling when they come back home is only a small part of the puzzle.” Alon Ohel spent two years in captivity after being wounded on October 7th, 2023. He did not receive treatment from Hamas and suffered harsh conditions in tunnels, including starvation. He recently returned to the hospital for orthopedic and “exceptional” eye surgeries. Professor Irit Bahar, chief of the Ophthalmology Department at the center, recalled, “The moment we realized that it might be possible to restore Alon’s sight, this was an emotional moment and a very remarkable one.” The surgery was a success. New York Physician Dr. Mark Siegel, an internal medicine specialist, told CBN News it’s a wonder the hostages survived. “They survive tremendous abuse, starvation, deprivation, dehumanization, injuries, broken bones, gunshot wounds, shrapnel, vitamin deficiencies, infections, respiratory infections, and diarrhea diseases, and being chained together and being mocked and tortured and abused, all of which, it’s a miracle they survived,” Dr. Siegel declared. And he stressed that the mental recovery takes longer than the physical. “Dehumanization, depersonalization, nightmares, severe anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder they’re being handled right now with kindness, with compassion. Their families are playing a huge role in nursing them back to health. The sensitivity that it takes to deal with someone in this condition is extremely important,” Siegel asserted. ***Please sign up for CBN Newsletters and download the CBN News app to ensure you receive the latest news from a Christian perspective.*** Professor Eliakim-Raz helped treat the mothers and a grandmother who came out as part of the first hostages’ release in November 2023. “The resilience and strength that these mothers showed is impossible to do or to capture,” she emphasized. She praised the creativity shown by the hostages to train their brains to learn things while in captivity. “You hear incredible stories about how they train themselves to keep track of time. They know to tell you exact dates and hours of things they did in captivity. And it’s unbelievable. Everyone held on to something that gave them hope,” Eliakim-Raz observed. She adds that the suffering the hostages endured can affect their health and lives for decades. “And you can see that, not only psychological influence, but also physical influences, like they have more heart disease, more dental problems, and even premature aging, even for decades forward,” she stated. “So the body remembers.” They will need to receive further care for years, with the goal of building resilience. “The main thing is to bring them back to their life,” Eliakim Raz insisted. “And the goals are very different. And then change from one to the other for one person, going back to life is running a family, and for the other, it’s playing the piano, and for the third one, it’s going back to the army.” Families play an essential role in the rehabilitation process. Eliakim-Raz likens it almost to giving birth. “They get this person back,” she explained. “They don’t really know what to expect. It’s learning each other again. They are different, and the returnees are different. The families change, too.” She shared that the medical staff felt privileged to work with the hostages. Her hope is that Israelis as a whole will learn from this crisis the importance of being a community and working together.

“Mastiii 4 offers a strong female perspective”: Milap Zaveri maintains composure amid backlash

The trailer for *Mastiii 4*, the latest installment of the cult comedy franchise, was released on November 4, 2025, sparking divided opinions online almost immediately. While fans of the original films celebrated the return of Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani, others took issue with the film’s adult humour and bold dialogues.

A popular YouTuber and cinephile took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her disapproval, writing, “How do they face the females in their house after doing such films, you will never know. If DISGUST was a genre, this trailer is the topper. Full confidence in our janta to watch & have no issues with the content. Arrey it’s just ‘fun’ yaar.”

Responding to the post, director Milap Zaveri maintained his composure and offered a calm, courteous reply: “Mam pls do see the film. You may be pleasantly surprised. Women have a v strong role and POV (sic).” This comes shortly after Zaveri had acknowledged another critical tweet with, “Respect your opinion bhai. Hopefully audiences will enjoy it,” showing that the filmmaker is taking the criticism in stride while maintaining confidence in his vision.

*Mastiii 4* brings back the beloved trio of Amar, Meet, and Prem, with Shreya Sharma, Ruhii Singh, and Elnaaz Norouzi joining the ensemble. The film also features Arshad Warsi and Tusshar Kapoor in pivotal roles.

Backed by Zee Studios and Waveband Production in association with Maruti International and Balaji Motion Pictures, the sex comedy promises “four times the madness” and is set to release in theatres on November 21, 2025.

Stop using Facebook for public announcements | Letter

This letter is a plea to local communities and businesses to stop relying solely on Facebook—a corporate, for-profit information-gathering platform—as the medium for announcing local events.

I do not want to visit a town’s official website only to be redirected to Facebook for further information about local recreation or entertainment opportunities. I am not a Facebook member by choice, and I prefer to keep it that way. I do not want my personal data used to further Facebook’s profits and influence.

When I am redirected to a Facebook page, I am often denied access unless I agree to join the platform. This feels like coercive behavior.

If I want to attend events like Naples’ Rocktoberfest, take swimming lessons in Casco, or play basketball in Harrison, I would truly appreciate it if these communities allowed me to read about these opportunities directly on their own websites.

Similarly, when Pleasant Mountain is opening for the season, their staff should communicate this information on their official website—not just via Facebook.

Local communities and businesses have the power to make information accessible to everyone. Let’s encourage them to provide event details on their own platforms so no one is excluded.

Democratic Lawmakers Urge DeSantis To Declare Emergency and Buy Supplies for Food Pantries

**Florida Democrats Urge Gov. DeSantis to Declare State of Emergency Amid Looming Food Assistance Crisis**

Florida Democrats in the Legislature are imploring Gov. Ron DeSantis to declare a state of emergency and allocate state funds to purchase food for distribution to food pantries. This urgent request comes as nearly 3 million Floridians face losing access to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) due to an ongoing federal government shutdown.

Led by Senate Democratic Leader Lori Berman (D-Boynton Beach) and House Democratic Leader Fentrice Driskell (D-Tampa), legislative Democrats sent a letter to Gov. DeSantis on Tuesday. They urged him to use his emergency powers to ensure that millions of Floridians who rely on SNAP do not go hungry when their benefits expire this Saturday.

The letter also requests that DeSantis direct the Department of Children and Families—the agency responsible for administering SNAP—to coordinate with local food banks and community partners to distribute food immediately.

> “For families already struggling under record food and housing costs, the loss of this critical support would be catastrophic,” the letter states.
> “Local food banks and pantries have already reported overwhelming demand and depleted supplies. We are days away from a full-blown hunger emergency that will leave families without food during the holiday season. The state cannot stand by.”

Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried echoed the urgency in a separate statement:

> “This moment is bigger than politics. This is about showing up for our fellow Americans and keeping Floridians safe and fed.”

### The Scope of SNAP in Florida

SNAP provides essential nutritional support for low-income seniors, people with disabilities living on fixed incomes, and other individuals and families facing food insecurity. Florida ranks fourth nationwide in SNAP enrollment, with nearly 2.94 million residents relying on the assistance—behind California, Texas, and New York.

Nationwide, approximately 41.7 million people depend on SNAP benefits, according to August 2025 data.

### Federal Shutdown and SNAP Funding Stalemate

The DeSantis administration recently posted a notice warning that SNAP benefits are about to expire, following an announcement from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). On Friday, the USDA reported it would not tap into $6 billion in contingency funds to maintain benefits during the government shutdown.

It would take roughly $9 billion to cover SNAP costs through November. However, a federal memo—initially reported by Axios—claims that contingency funds cannot be used to sustain the program during the shutdown. The memo states:

> “Contingency funds are only available to supplement regular monthly benefits when amounts have been appropriated for, but are insufficient to cover, benefits. The contingency fund is not available to support FY 2026 regular benefits, because the appropriation for regular benefits no longer exists.”

This partisan impasse has resulted in a 28-day government shutdown, which began on October 1, the start of the federal fiscal year.

### Florida Democrats Demand State Action

In their letter, Florida Democrats emphasized SNAP’s critical role:

> “SNAP is one of the most effective programs for addressing hunger and food insecurity in the state. Especially after the recent cuts stemming from President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, Floridians cannot afford another day without action by the state. Florida has the fiscal strength to respond. What’s needed now is the moral will to act. No parent should have to choose between paying rent and feeding their kids. No child should go hungry because politicians in Washington can’t agree. We urge you to act immediately.”

Senate Leader Lori Berman called the governor’s inaction “heartless”:

> “Florida has $5 billion in its ‘rainy day’ fund that DeSantis could use to avert the food cliff low-income families face. The sudden loss of those benefits would be an economic and humanitarian nightmare. With the stroke of a pen, the Governor can keep food on peoples’ tables. He has a responsibility to the people of this state to put partisanship aside and lead. Refusing to act would be truly heartless.”

House Leader Fentrice Driskell also criticized the governor:

> “He brags about ‘maxing out’ the amount of savings in the state’s ‘rainy day’ fund. If millions of hungry Floridians isn’t an economic storm, I don’t know what is. This is a crisis but an entirely solvable one. We can make sure Floridians do not go hungry. It costs a little more than $6 a day to feed someone. Isn’t every Floridian worth that?”

### Additional Recommendations

The letter further asks Gov. DeSantis to instruct the state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to implement universal school meals programs for the duration of the declared emergency.

As of now, the governor’s office has not responded to requests for comment from Florida Phoenix.

Progressive Democrats create 2026 headaches for Schumer’s establishment recruits

Notably, the lead could be persisting despite a drip, drip of reports highlighting offensive online posts by Platner referencing Black people and sexual assault survivors. The latest post was taken before it was discovered he had a tattoo resembling a Nazi symbol, which he has since covered with another tattoo.

In Texas, liberal firebrand Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is “strongly” weighing a Senate bid in the wake of state redistricting. Elsewhere, crowded Democratic primaries, including in Michigan, are likely to hemorrhage critical resources the party will need for general elections to protect incumbent seats or oust Republicans.

Schumer’s preferred recruits, such as Mills in Maine, former Gov. Roy Cooper in North Carolina, and former Sen. Sherrod Brown in Ohio, are far older but are considered “more stable” and electable than grassroots progressives like Platner. Despite their ability to energize the base, Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf emphasized this point but cautioned Schumer and his allies not to make what he called a critical misstep: criticizing the younger, more liberal outside challengers.

“The leadership can’t say, ‘They’re out of line. They’re wacky. They’re too far to the left,” Sheinkopf said. “The leadership just has to keep doing its job in Washington.”

Even before Mills’s entry into the race, tensions were rising within the party as Platner criticized Schumer as “wholly incapable” of combating President Donald Trump and lumped him together with Collins as those who can’t stop grassroots momentum.

Since Mills’ campaign launch earlier this month, Platner has urged Schumer against “meddling in a Maine primary” and to stay “focused on fighting Donald Trump and protecting healthcare for millions of Americans.”

There’s limited sympathy among Senate Democrats for Platner’s complaints about Schumer. Platner did have a small fan club among more progressive senators before this month’s revelations about his online posts, and influential members such as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) have stuck by him.

“I didn’t have the support of the [Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee], but I knew I could win, and more importantly, that I could win the general election. So that’s what I did,” said Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), reflecting on the Senate Democrats’ campaign arm’s initial reluctance to back his early challenge to then-Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ), partly because it came before her retirement announcement.

“If you can do it, do it. If not, then don’t do it. But don’t complain,” Gallego continued. “Everyone’s got to work their own way in.”

Schumer, who is Jewish, recently told reporters he’ll “let the people of Maine decide” if Platner’s controversies, including the Nazi tattoo, should be politically disqualifying.

“We think that Janet Mills is the best candidate to retire Susan Collins,” he said of the leadership’s position, while the Senate campaign arm has already taken steps to financially bolster Mills.

“She’s a tested two-term governor, and the people of Maine have an enormous amount of affection and respect for her.”

Sanders, a democratic-socialist who rose to national prominence as an outsider to the Democratic establishment, downplayed Platner’s social media posts. He attributed them in part to a once-struggling overseas combat veteran and deflected on the Nazi tattoo by railing against a “corrupt campaign finance system” and referencing cuts to government healthcare programs under Trump’s “big, beautiful” tax law.

“What bothers me is we don’t have enough candidates in this country who are prepared to take on the powers to be and fight for the working class,” Sanders recently told reporters.

There are headaches elsewhere for Senate Democrats, including a Michigan fight to replace retiring Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI). Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI), backed by the Michigan state party to succeed Peters in a three-way contest against Democratic state Sen. Mallory McMorrow and former Wayne County Health Director Abdul El-Sayed, attended a recent DSCC Napa Valley fundraising retreat, according to Politico.

McMorrow recently met with DSCC Vice Chair Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA), according to Axios. These meetings offer the latest signs that Senate Democrats are still weighing how heavily to influence the race for a particular candidate.

For Republicans, Attorney General Ken Paxton is running an insurgent campaign against incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), creating a mirror image problem for GOP leadership. They fear his own political scandals will hurt the party next November.

Cornyn has pulled even with Paxton in polling, following months of aligned outside groups spending heavily to hammer Paxton over personal and professional scandals, including allegations of an extramarital affair, corruption, and bribery.

Meanwhile, Democrats are fielding scandals or fearing lost momentum in off-year races in Virginia and New Jersey.

Jay Jones, the Democratic nominee for attorney general in Virginia, is embroiled in controversy over texts in which he detailed the fantasy of shooting a state Republican lawmaker in the head. This has prompted his lead over Republican nominee Jason Miyares, the current attorney general, to shrink.

In the New Jersey governor’s race, Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ) maintains a lead over Republican rival Jack Ciattarelli, but the contest remains competitive in a state where recent Republican gains have set off alarm bells for Democrats.

### Schumer Lands His Prized Senate Recruits in Battlegrounds

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), a progressive member of Senate leadership, said his energy is better spent on the government shutdown than on offering election analysis. However, he told the Washington Examiner he’s set to campaign with Sherrill in New Jersey next weekend.

“She’s a great candidate. I think she’s going to win,” Murphy said. “But she needs all the help that she can get.”

Recent Feud with The Kabuki Warriors
