Toto Wolff consoles George Russell after a missed opportunity at the F1 Las Vegas GP

Mercedes star George Russell finished on the podium at the 2025 Las Vegas GP after starting the race in P4. The Briton could’ve finished P2 at the street race as Lando Norris faced an issue in the last couple of laps. Team Principal Toto Wolff took to the team radio and consoled Russell after the missed opportunity. George Russell qualified P4 and was able to get up into P2 after an amazing start. The Briton ran in P2 for the first stint but was later overtaken by Lando Norris. With Max Verstappen being the last driver who started on the medium to pit, the Dutchman came out just a second ahead of Russell. The Briton pushed his Mercedes on older, but up to temperature tires in an attempt to overtake the Red Bull driver, but wasn’t able to do the same. After following Max Verstappen for a couple of laps, George Russell fell back and was then passed by Lando Norris. Russell took to the team radio and explained how he damaged his tires while pushing in an attempt to overtake Max Verstappen. In the last couple of laps at the Las Vegas GP, Lando Norris was instructed by the team to lift and coast to the finish line following what was a suspected brake issue. George Russell was just a few seconds behind Norris, and Mercedes Boss Toto Wolff took to the team radio to console his driver after the missed opportunity. “George, Congratulations on the podium. Really good. I agree with you. Probably those two laps with Verstappen, that’s what did the damage. But a podium is a podium,” said Toto Wolff “Exactly, can’t change the result,” responded Russell Had the Briton not pushed as hard to overtake Max, better tires would’ve likely meant that he finished ahead of Norris. George Russell nursed a steering issue at the Las Vegas GP Whilst running P2 at the Las Vegas GP, George Russell took to the team radio and complained about a “steering issue” on Lap 14. The Briton nursed the same issue throughout the race and likely lost multiple tenths every lap. During the post-race interview, Russell was questioned by David Coulthard about the steering issue and whether the Mercedes driver nursed the same throughout the race. George Russell replied, “Yeah, it was there throughout.” However, Russell detailed how it was the tire situation which hurt him more than the steering wheel issue, as he added, “Honestly it was the tires. When Max made the pit, I thought I had a chance, he had the cold tires and I really pushed hard and damaged the tires. There on in I was on the team radio saying ‘I’m not sure this tire is going to make it to the end. Really difficult.” Russell’s teammate, Kimi Antonelli, finished the race in P4 on track, and was demoted to P5 after the time penalty for the false start was applied.

Dear Abby: 6 years later, man-child still holds grudge

Dear Abby: My daughter is asking me to apologize to her boyfriend, “Harry,” for yelling at him when I was helping them move six years ago. (I had traveled 250 miles to help.) The day of the move, Harry didn’t take the day off work, so he wasn’t there to help. (They had a second-floor unit with no elevator.) When he finally did show up, he proceeded to slow-walk taking out the recycling stuff. At the new place, Harry helped somewhat, but when the food was delivered, rather than continue to help, he decided to sit down and eat while the other two helpers and I continued moving stuff in. (This was 10 hours into the move.) That’s when I lost it. I yelled at him for not helping more. All he had done in his relationship with my daughter was go to work, come home and play video games. He didn’t help around the house or show any interest in helping with their son. Over the last few years, Harry has changed somewhat in helping with his son, but my daughter now feels stuck in the middle and wants me to apologize to him for yelling. I have made no disparaging remarks about him since. I even liked some of his posts on Facebook. I have gotten over it, but it seems Harry hasn’t. I told my daughter he needs professional help. The last time I visited, he stayed in a hotel for the weekend. My son says it should be an apology going both ways and should come from Harry first. What do you think? Family Dilemma in Canada Dear Family Dilemma: Face it. Your daughter’s boyfriend is an overgrown child. Count your blessings that she isn’t married to him. Someone has to be an adult, and I am voting for you to fill that role by taking the first step. Hold your nose and apologize to Harry, if only for your daughter’s sake. Dear Abby: Should parents be allowed to send birthday invitations to school if only select students are the recipients of the invitation? I’m the parent of a (very) special needs pre-k child. Daily, I feel the heartache of her challenges and her desire for connection with others. On the parent FB group, someone recently posted about their daughter’s birthday. It said those who received an invite should text the cellphone number listed for a change of plans. We never received an invite. Were we the only ones excluded? If I’m honest, my emotions may be particularly fragile when it comes to my daughter and inclusion. I do think people should be able to invite only their friends. However, it seems to me that discretion on the part of the parent who is hosting would be more polite and kind. Parents should make a point to know their child’s friends’ parents’ contact information. Do you have an opinion? Uninvited in the East Dear Uninvited: I’m with you 100%, speaking for myself as an adult who was once a child who was excluded. For many reasons, parents should make a point of having their child’s friends’ parents’ contact information. That information could be crucial in case of an emergency. Former Texans QB Deshaun Watson Taking Major Step Amid Update on Future

The ongoing saga of former Houston Texans franchise quarterback and first-round draft pick Deshaun Watson is taking another turn. Unlike many in recent memory, this one bodes well for the Cleveland Browns QB. Watson remains on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, recovering from a re-ruptured Achilles tendon that required surgery in January. He also remains tied to the Browns through 2026, but the latest update will have a more immediate impact. Ex-Texans QB Deshaun Watson Taking Major Next Step With Browns Now in his third season with the Browns, who acquired him from the Texans in a blockbuster trade in 2022, Watson has appeared in 19 games since due to injuries. He has essentially been documenting his recovery process through a series of social media posts. The Browns have remained non-committal to Watson returning this season, with significant financial implications at play. However, he is healthy enough that he could force their hand. “Deshaun Watson will make his first road trip of the season and be on the sideline helping Shedeur Sanders in his NFL starting debut here against the Raiders, a league source tells cleveland. com,” Cleveland. com’s Mary Kay Cabot wrote on November 22. “There’s some thought in the organization to waiting until the offseason program in April to let Watson start practicing, but he’s coming along well enough that they might open the window soon. “The Browns fully expect Watson to be on the team in 2026, the final year of his contract.” Watson, 30, is 9-10 as the Browns’ starter, completing 61. 2% of his passes for 3, 365 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He is on a five-year, $230 million contract that has been reworked multiple times in pursuit of cap relief. Blockbuster Trade Working Out Differently for Browns, Texans Texans general manager Nick Caserio drew praise for the Watson trade after the Dallas Cowboys dealt Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers for a package including Kenny Clark. “Texans G. M. Nick Caserio worked the situation masterfully,” Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio wrote in September, “creating a four-team competition between the Saints, Panthers, Falcons, and Browns that allowed Caserio to name his price to each of them before they were allowed to even talk to Watson.” Browns owner Jimmy Haslam delivered a much different message about the deal. “We took a big swing-and-miss with Deshaun,” Haslam said in March, per ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi. “We thought we had the quarterback; we didn’t. And we gave up a lot of draft picks to get him, so we’ve got to dig ourselves out of that hole.” The Browns had a first-round pick in 2025. It was the first time since the Watson trade with the Texans. They selected defensive tackle Mason Graham fifth overall. Haslam said that the decision to trade for Watson in 2022 was made by the “entire organization,” which former chief strategy officer Paul DePodesta also noted. However, he also said that “it ends with Dee [Haslam] and I, so hold us accountable.” Deshaun Watson Mentoring Browns’ QBs Watson’s apparent relationship with the Browns did not permeate; QBs coach Bill Musgrave praised the former Texans passer for mentoring rookies Sanders and Dillon Gabriel. Musgrave said they “miss” Watson being on road trips. “Deshaun went on the trip with us down to Charlotte to get his Achilles looked at. But otherwise, he hasn’t been on the road,” Musgrave told reporters in October. “It’s great to have his presence on the sideline for our young group.” The Browns would incur more than $80 million in dead cap charges if they cut Watson during the 2026 offseason. The most logical solution could indeed be for him to stick around in 2026. Watson could rehab his on-field image, and the ex-Texans QB can mentor a rookie QB.

24,000 registered nurses ratify new four-year contract with UC

The University of California and the California Nurses Association ratified a four-year agreement for nearly 24, 000 registered nurses that includes an 18. 5% minimum increase in wages over the life of the four-year contract across the university’s 19 medical centers and campuses, the union announced on Saturday, Nov. 22. CNA said in its statement that the contract also caps health care premium increases and adds “protections to improve patient safety and nurse retention.” A union spokesperson did not immediately respond to questions about how many members voted to support or reject ratification of the contract, or what the new minimum hourly wage is under the contract for first year nurses. “UC nurses were unified in our demands for a contract that reversed and halted UC management’s growing practice of short-staffing facilities, cutting back on resources, and forcing [registered nurses] to do more with less support,” said Marlene Tucay, an RN at UC Irvine and member of the CNC bargaining team, in a statement. “As a result of the commitment of all CNA members, we won a contract that will improve outcomes for nurses and our patients.” A UC spokeswoman was not immediately available for comment. The new contract, which also places restrictions on UC floating RNs between facilities and adds improvements to meal and rest breaks and workplace violence-prevention policies, covers the period Nov. 1, 2025, to Jan. 31, 2029. Under the contract, RNs were guaranteed a central role in selecting, designing and validating new technology, including artificial intelligence systems, the CNA stated. Registered nurses provide and coordinate patient care and educate patients and the public about various health conditions, according to the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. CNA becomes the second major union to ratify a new labor contract with UC in recent days. On Nov. 20, the University Professional and Technical Employees-Communications Workers of America Local 9119, which represents 19, 664 healthcare, research and technical professionals, ratified its contract with UC. The UPTE-CWA union’s agreement provides a roughly 28% pay bump over the next four years, pension contributions, caps on health care premium increases, and improvements to career advancement steps and work-life balance. Bargaining between the university and CNA and UPTE-CWA began in June 2024 ahead of the contract expiration with each of the unions on Oct. 31, 2024. Earlier this month, after CNA and UPTE-CWA reached a tentative deal with UC, the unions cancelled plans to join picket lines with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 3299, which represents 37, 481 service and patient care technical workers at UC, ahead of a Nov. 17-18 strike. The plans to cancel participation in the strike would have brought more than 80, 000 union members including CNA, UPTE-CWA and AFSCME to the picket lines last Monday and Tuesday in what they described as a historic display of solidarity against UC. As of Saturday, AFSCME Local 3299 was still in talks with UC negotiators. That union’s contract also expired last year, with its members going out on strike Nov. 17-18. “UC’s disappointing tone deafness to the affordability crisis plaguing its lowest paid frontline workers persists,” said Todd Stenhouse, a spokesman for AFSCME Local 3299. Michael Avant, president of AFSCME Local 3299, has made a point of criticizing the UC system for spending billions of dollars acquiring new facilities, “lavishing exorbitant raises on its wealthiest executives and funding housing assistance programs to help these same ivory tower elites buy mansions or second homes” though not offering its frontline workers enough to “pay the rent or keep pace with the skyrocketing cost of groceries.”.

Club Sando score six again, jump to TTPFL summit

Roneil Walcott For the second time in three days, Club Sando scored half a dozen goals as they ran riot against last season’s TT Premier Football (TTPFL) runners-up MIC Central FC Reboot when they got a commanding 6-1 victory in their meeting at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva on November 21. On November 19, the Angus Eve-coached Club Sando team were also in a rampant mood as they hammered Terminix La Horquetta Rangers 6-0. Two days later, Club Sando showed that was no fluke as they put five unanswered goals past a lacklustre Central team in the first half before adding one more late in the second to get an easy win. Sando moved to 12 points and are atop the 12-team table on goal difference ahead of Prisons FC (12 points). Attackers Real Gill and Tarik Lee both scored twice in the first half to lead the Sando attack, with the latter putting in another strong showing after his four-goal performance against Rangers. Keron Cornwall and Sando skipper Shervohnez Hamilton grabbed the other goals. The Sando forwards capitalised on several defensive lapses by Central, with Gill opening the scoring in the 17th minute after picking off a loose pass by central defender Jamal Jack. Eight minutes later, Sando’s lead doubled when Cornwall clinically slapped home a left-footed shot from inside the area after great work down the right by midfielder Luke Phillips. Twelve minutes later, the game was put beyond Central’s reach as Lee got his brace while Gill chipped in with the other item. Lee’s first goal came in the 29th minute after Gill pounced on an error in the defensive third by Emmanuel Thomas, while his second came in the 35th minute when goalie Jabari Brice saved a shot from Phillips. Gill’s second came as a result of another Central error, as he made it five in the 37th minute after a cheap giveaway by midfielder Rhondel Gibson. Central played much better in the second half and offered good offensive pressure against a stubborn Sando defence. In the 86th minute, Central finally got on the board when playmaker Daniel David fired in from a tight angle, before Hamilton finished off the scoring at the other end with a sharp left-footer into the bottom corner in the 88th minute after receiving a back heel from Gill on the edge of the box to wrap up the Sando massacre. In the first game of the Couva double-header, it was a tale of two halves as San Juan Jabloteh grabbed a 2-0 halftime lead through striker Malachi Webb before being rattled by a second-half brace from playmaker Keron “Ball Pest” Cummings as they settled for a 2-2 draw with Caledonia AIA. Jabloteh’s two goals came as a result of fabulous hold-up play on the counter-attack from Webb, who opened the scoring with a right-footer in the 17th minute before curling a left-footer into the far corner for his second in the 31st minute. In the 53rd minute, “Cale” got a goal back when Cummings neatly tucked away a penalty, before he spectacularly tied the game up at 2-2 in the 83rd minute with a wicked left-footed volley into the top corner from about 22 yards out. Jabloteh (five points) moved from eighth to seventh, while Caledonia (four points) consolidated ninth spot. TTPFL action was scheduled to continue on November 22 with a pair of matches at Ato Boldon Stadium in Bacolet, Tobago. Rhode Island teacher who called Charlie Kirk ‘piece of garbage’ set to return to classroom after suspension

Fox News ^ | November 21, 2025 | Rachel del Guidice Posted on by The_Media_never_lie A Rhode Island high school will reinstate a teacher who was put on administrative leave after he called assassinated Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk a “piece of garbage.” In an email sent Friday and obtained by Fox News Digital, interim Superintendent Bob Mitchell of Barrington Public Schools said social studies teacher Benjamin Fillo would return to teach despite violating the district’s social media policy. “The high school teacher at the center of the recent district independent investigation will be returning to the classroom on December 1,” the email from Mitchell read. “The investigator’s now public report confirms that the teacher violated district social media policy, resulting in substantial disruption to our district.
