Gators freshman WR Dallas Wilson lost for the season with foot injury

GAINESVILLE, Florida — Receiver Dallas Wilson’s promising, record-setting yet injury-riddled debut season is officially over after he hurt his right foot late in the first half of the Gators’ 24-20 loss Saturday to Georgia.

A source confirmed Wilson will miss the final four games of the regular season, leaving him with just four appearances in 2025. He remains eligible to redshirt and is expected to return as a redshirt freshman in 2026.

The talented 6-foot-3, 216-pound Tampa native sat out the first four games and much of fall camp with a left foot injury. The 19-year-old made up for lost time during a 29-21 win against Texas on Oct. 4 in the Swamp.

Wilson finished that game with six catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns — all UF records for a true freshman receiver in his first start.

One highlight was a 55-yard touchdown catch that gave UF a 29-14 lead and showcased his unique skill set. Wilson shed his defender just past the line of scrimmage, caught a DJ Lagway pass along the sideline, spun out of a tackle, and then flattened 2024 second-team All-American safety Michael Taaffe at the goal line.

“He’s a specimen,” Lagway said of Wilson.

Wilson caught another touchdown the following week on a leaping grab in the end zone during a 34-17 loss at Texas A&M.

Despite his flashes of brilliance, Wilson’s season ends with just 12 catches for 174 yards and three scores.

Wilson’s injury leaves the Gators without another top perimeter playmaker. Fellow true freshman and leading receiver Vernell Brown III, along with redshirt sophomore Aidan Mizell — the team’s fastest player — both sat out the Georgia game.

In response, redshirt sophomore Tre Wilson stepped up with nine catches for 121 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown.

Forced into action, redshirt freshman TJ Abrams had a costly drop on third down, which forced UF to settle for a 54-yard field goal by Trey Smack — marking his school-record ninth field goal of at least 50 yards.

Chicago Bulls Injury Update: Ayo Dosunmu’s Status Changed vs. Knicks

The Chicago Bulls will be without their second unit leader on Sunday night as they face the New York Knicks for the second consecutive game. The team has officially ruled out guard Ayo Dosunmu, who is dealing with a quad contusion and is currently listed as day-to-day, according to The Athletic’s Joel Lorenzi.

Dosunmu is coming off a stellar performance, having scored a season-high 22 points with 9 assists on 8-of-10 shooting in the Bulls’ Halloween victory over the Knicks. His next opportunity to take the court will be on Tuesday when the Philadelphia 76ers visit the United Center. The Bulls will also continue to be without starting guard Coby White.

### Can the Chicago Bulls Make Up for Ayo Dosunmu’s Absence?

The Bulls have started the season with an impressive 5-0 record, largely due to their well-rounded and unselfish offensive identity. However, compensating for Dosunmu’s absence will not be easy.

Dosunmu has arguably been the driving force behind the success of the Bulls’ second unit, which ranks second in the NBA in total bench points per game (49.0). He has averaged a career-best 16.2 points per game on an outstanding 57.7 percent shooting from the field.

The fifth-year guard’s dependability is further highlighted by head coach Billy Donovan’s decision to close out victories with him on the floor, despite not being part of the starting lineup. Dosunmu’s transition speed and downhill explosiveness have perfectly complemented the team’s preferred offensive style.

The Bulls enter this second matchup with the Knicks averaging the most points in the paint per game (58.4) and holding the fifth-highest effective field goal percentage (58.1) in the league. Dosunmu has been a major contributor to these impressive offensive metrics.

Given all this, his absence could very well be a deciding factor in tonight’s game. Dosunmu was the team’s third-leading scorer on Friday and played more minutes than three of the starters.

### Who Will Step Up?

With Dosunmu sidelined, the question is: who will fill the void in production? Will we see increased minutes for Jevon Carter, who shot exceptionally well in the preseason? Will coach Donovan turn to Dalen Terry more frequently, or will Julian Phillips see greater responsibility?

One thing is certain — someone will have to step up if the Bulls want to maintain their undefeated start to the season.

The quantum computing threat Bitcoin can’t ignore

**Quantum Computing: The Biggest Threat to Bitcoin’s Future**

Quantum computing is no longer just science fiction or the stuff of cypherpunk paranoia—it’s officially a front-page threat to the world’s first stateless money. If you ever thought Satoshi Nakamoto’s creation was immune to existential risk, think again. The latest report from the Human Rights Foundation (HRF) brings this critical issue into sharp focus.

### Quantum Computing Is the ‘Biggest Risk’ to Bitcoin

The HRF’s detailed breakdown highlights that Bitcoin represents far more than a speculative asset. It serves as a lifeline for activists, journalists, and dissidents who face financial repression under authoritarian regimes. Bitcoin’s decentralization, privacy features, and permissionless access keep donation flows alive and protect savings from government seizures.

However, all this magic relies on solid cryptography. Quantum computing is the only technological leap that threatens to shatter those invisible shields.

### The Scale of the Threat: Nearly $700 Billion at Risk

According to the HRF report, nearly $700 billion worth of Bitcoin is at risk due to quantum computing. About 6.5 million BTC—almost one-third of all Bitcoin—are vulnerable to so-called “long-range” quantum attacks. These attacks target older or reused address types by exploiting exposed public keys.

Of these, owners could theoretically secure 4.49 million BTC by migrating their balances to quantum-resistant addresses. The problem? Roughly 1.7 million BTC—including Satoshi’s legendary 1.1 million coins—are frozen in time and wide open to quantum bandits when that day arrives.

### Understanding the Quantum Attack Vectors

The quantum threat mainly revolves around two attack types:

– **Long-Range Attacks:** These exploit dormant and reused addresses by targeting exposed public keys.
– **Short-Range Attacks:** These exploit the transaction window by attempting to calculate private keys in real time and steal funds before confirmation.

### ‘Burn’ or Be Burned: Protocol Politics

Bitcoin’s decentralized upgrade process, its greatest strength, is also a significant challenge here. Unlike centralized systems with automatic updates, Bitcoin’s consensus-driven changes can take years—measured in years, not weeks.

This delay has sparked intense debate:

– Should developers try to **burn** quantum-vulnerable coins, effectively freezing them?
– Or should they accept the risk of quantum thieves draining these wallets when the time comes?

Unsurprisingly, there’s little consensus. The Bitcoin community values property rights, censorship resistance, and anti-governance principles, making any agreement difficult.

As the HRF report concludes:
> “Upgrading Bitcoin to withstand quantum threats is as much a human challenge as a cryptographic one. Any successful soft fork integrating quantum-resistant signature schemes will necessitate user education, thoughtful user interface design, and coordination across a global ecosystem that includes users, developers, hardware manufacturers, node operators, and civil society.”

### Brave New Algorithms, Larger Blocks, and New Headaches

Moving to quantum-proof algorithms is far from a simple technical fix. The HRF outlines two primary classes of quantum-resistant solutions:

– **Lattice-Based Signature Schemes**
– **Hash-Based Signature Schemes**

Both options introduce trade-offs. Larger key sizes mean bulkier transactions, fewer transactions per block, heavier full nodes, and could escalate Bitcoin’s ongoing scaling challenges from a mild headache to a severe migraine.

For context:
– Lattice-based signatures are approximately **10 times larger** than current signatures.
– The most compact hash-based alternatives are **38 times bigger**.

Implementing these fixes requires extensive changes—from wallet redesigns and hardware upgrades to node operator retraining and global user education.

### Community Coordination Is Critical

The Bitcoin ecosystem must coordinate efforts among coders, wallet developers, advocates, and millions of skeptical holders—many of whom may be unaware that their coins are vulnerable.

History shows that even friendly upgrades can take years to gain acceptance. Meanwhile, the timelines for practical quantum computing continue to shrink, making the window for action narrower than many expect.

### What’s Next: Resilience or Ruin?

Any durable solution will demand grassroots support—not just technical patches on GitHub. The fate of dormant Bitcoins, and possibly Bitcoin’s broader legitimacy, hinges on how the network manages these intertwined political, technical, and social battles in the coming decade.

For Bitcoin’s rebels, cypherpunks, and involuntary exiles, the message is clear: keep educating, keep upgrading, and never assume Satoshi’s armor is permanently bulletproof.

As Bitcoin security expert, core developer, and Casa cofounder Jameson Lopp warns,
> “Even more than quantum computing, the biggest threat to Bitcoin is apathy.”

Stay informed and proactive—because the future of Bitcoin depends on it.

Hundreds of people took to the streets of San Jose and Oakland this weekend to celebrate Día de los Muertos, honoring the rich cultural traditions of this meaningful holiday.

In San Jose, Avenida de Altares (Avenue of the Altars) was held at the Mexican Heritage Plaza. This immersive experience featured a curated altar walk stretching from the intersection of Alum Rock Avenue and King Road to the entrance of Highway 101, culminating inside the plaza grounds. After the walk, community members were invited into La Plaza to enjoy a wide variety of activities including Día de los Muertos-themed face painting, private tarot readings, and booths from local artisans and makers selling original creations. Additional highlights included a costume contest and a picturesque cemetery installation, creating a vibrant and engaging celebration for all ages.

Meanwhile, the Oakland Día de los Muertos Festival marked its 30th year, welcoming tens of thousands of visitors to the culturally rich Fruitvale neighborhood. This free, outdoor, family-friendly event celebrates Mexican traditions with world-class live music, family games, rides, and traditional Latin American artisans. One of the festival’s central features is the breathtaking altars created by community members as a heartfelt homage to their deceased ancestors.

This year’s festival theme, “Aquí estamos y no nos vamos” (“Here we are and we’re not leaving”), powerfully expresses resilience, unity, and cultural pride—values that continue to define the Fruitvale community. The 30-year milestone is a testament to the enduring spirit and vibrant heritage celebrated during Día de los Muertos in the Bay Area.

“This is horrible”: Patriots fans panic as Kayshon Boutte goes out after suffering hamstring injury vs. Falcons

New England wide receiver Kayshon Boutte exited Sunday’s matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in the second quarter after reportedly pulling his hamstring. The Patriots ruled him out early in the third quarter, ending what was shaping up to be a promising performance.

His absence quickly sent fans on X into a frenzy. One fan lamented, “This is horrible.” Another expressed frustration, writing, “NOOOOOO WHAT THE FUCK.”

“Hamstring injury for Boutte? Pats WR corps just took a dump. Rough blow, hope he bounces back strong!” added another fan. More reactions poured in:

– “Not good, prayers up Boutte,” one fan commented.
– “Who would have thought no Kayshon Boutte would hurt the Patriots offense this much?” said another.
– “Crazy, Kayshon Boutte gets ruled out and now the offense at a standstill??” tweeted yet another.

Before the injury, Boutte had established himself as one of Drake Maye’s most reliable weapons. Entering Week 9, he had recorded 23 receptions for 431 yards and five touchdowns across eight games. Unfortunately, Boutte did not record a catch before leaving the game. When he was declared out, New England was leading Atlanta 21-14.

With Boutte sidelined, DeMario Douglas and Kyle Williams took on a heavier snap count to fill the void. Douglas stepped up significantly, becoming Maye’s top option. By the time New England confirmed Boutte would not return, Douglas had caught four passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Highlights included a 16-yard scoring reception in the opening quarter and a 58-yard catch that set up an 11-yard touchdown pass from Maye to Stefon Diggs.

Patriots coach Mike Vrabel spoke about Boutte’s development on October 20, crediting his improved communication and maturity for his breakout season.

“I think he communicates better,” Vrabel told reporters. “I just think he’s a better communicator, whether that’s anything that he has to deal with outside of work or outside of football, family, or just talking in the building. I think that’s improved.”

Boutte faced long odds to earn his role after an offseason filled with speculation about his roster status. He competed against veterans such as Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas, and Mack Hollins, as well as rookie Kyle Williams. Despite the challenges, Boutte had solidified his place on the team—until the unfortunate injury on Sunday.

Patriots fans will be hoping for a swift recovery as New England looks to maintain offensive momentum moving forward.

7 arrests made during Dodger celebrations across streets of LA, police say

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — The Los Angeles Police Department reported that seven people were arrested Saturday night as Dodger fans took to the streets across the city to celebrate the World Series victory.

Among those arrested were three individuals charged with felony vandalism, one for failure to disperse, one for battery on a police officer, and one for possession of fireworks. Additionally, a woman was arrested after riding a bicycle into a police horse. Fortunately, the horse is reported to be unharmed.

In Echo Park, several businesses, driverless cars, and Metro buses were vandalized. LAPD officers issued a dispersal order at an intersection as large crowds of fans gathered, waving Dodger flags and shooting fireworks into the air. Some officers patrolled the streets on horseback, instructing people to leave the area.

Meanwhile, in Pacoima, video from AIR7 captured cars performing donut maneuvers at an intersection while onlookers ignited fireworks.

The LAPD went on Tactical Alert around 6 p.m. Saturday in anticipation of the celebrations and shut down streets in key areas to help manage the crowds. Dispersal orders were issued at Chick Hearn Court and 11th Street, as well as at Sunset Boulevard and Echo Park Avenue when crowds grew.

Ethereum’s ecosystem continues to lead the smart contract race, driving the creation of a new wave of ERC-20 tokens that are capturing significant investor attention. Among these, Shiba Inu (SHIB) maintains its position, backed by an impressive community of over 1.5 million holders. Despite turbulent market conditions, SHIB remains relevant with strong support around $0.00001000. While short-term rallies face resistance at $0.00001121, SHIB’s long-term momentum remains appealing to speculative investors seeking growth opportunities within the Ethereum ecosystem.

### Shiba Inu Price Analysis

Shiba Inu (SHIB) is setting up for a potential breakout after several months of consolidation. A bullish price pattern has formed, and momentum is gradually building. If the current support level holds, SHIB could target the next resistance near $0.00001300. Traders should closely monitor market sentiment and any events that could lead to volatility, as the coming hours may prove critical for confirming an upward move. While risk management remains essential, this setup suggests promising potential for investors watching Ethereum-based meme coins.

Built on a grassroots-style community movement, SHIB continues to hold strong momentum. However, many investors are also turning their focus toward emerging DeFi projects with early-stage growth potential, such as Mutuum Finance (MUTM), which is rapidly gaining traction and capturing trader interest as a potential breakout altcoin. Mutuum Finance is increasingly being recognized among top cryptocurrencies to hold moving into 2025.

### Pepe Coin Demonstrates First Signs of Stabilization

Another token making waves is Pepe (PEPE), which has experienced a downtrend but now shows signs of stabilizing near its lower support zone. If this support holds and buying momentum resumes, PEPE could see a bounce toward the $0.0000080–$0.00001000 range, indicating a possible short-term recovery. Traders and community members alike are watching closely as the market positions for potential near-term gains.

Despite PEPE’s renewed stability attracting interest, investors seeking to combine DeFi utility with early-stage growth are increasingly viewing Mutuum Finance as a more compelling alternative. This reinforces MUTM’s reputation as one of the best cryptocurrencies expected to perform strongly in the upcoming bull cycle.

Unlike many speculative tokens, Mutuum Finance offers real-world utility through its next-generation DeFi protocol, positioning it as a top crypto asset for investors seeking exposure ahead of 2026.

### Redefining Borrowing: Mutuum Finance’s Stable DeFi Model

At the heart of Mutuum Finance is an innovative lending system designed to bring predictability, stability, and fairness to the DeFi lending market. Borrowers can negotiate repayment fees upfront, while interest rates dynamically adjust based on market conditions.

Although fixed-rate lending fees may initially be higher than variable rates, this approach offers critical protection against sudden interest rate spikes and market volatility.

With more than $18.35 million raised from over 17,660 investors and Phase 6 already 85% sold, MUTM’s low token price of just $0.035 presents a rare opportunity for early adopters to secure exposure before the mainnet launch.

This combination of a groundbreaking dual-lending DeFi utility model with real-world financial mechanisms gives MUTM significant growth potential alongside sustainable long-term value.

### Why Choose Mutuum Finance?

Investors looking to diversify beyond popular meme coins like SHIB and PEPE should seriously consider Mutuum Finance. As the best crypto to watch in 2025 within Ethereum’s ecosystem, MUTM is positioned at the forefront of the decentralized finance evolution.
