The Indian American Kerala Cultural and Civic Center, Inc. (The Kerala Center) celebrated its 33rd Annual Awards Dinner at the Center’s auditorium in Elmont, NY, on Saturday, October 25, 2025. The event honored seven distinguished individuals for their outstanding contributions in their respective professions and to society through selfless dedication.

**2025 Award Honorees:**
– **Inspector Shibu Madhu** – Government and Public Service
– **Diya Mathews** – Legal Service
– **Priscilla Samuel** – Nursing
– **Jayan Varghese** – Pravasi Malayalam Literature
– **Koshy O. Thomas** – Community Service
– **Nandini Menon** – Education
– **Joharath Kutty** – Engineering

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Suresh U. Kumar, who spoke about the concept of Indian Civilizational Intelligence and its potential to propel India to become a leading global economy.

The evening began with introductory remarks and the welcoming of emcee Daisy Stephen Pallipparambil by G. Mathai, Trustee and Program Chairman. The American National Anthem was performed by Bailey Stephen, and the Indian National Anthem was sung by Amisha Jaimon.

In addition to the Kerala Center’s own awards, Assembly members presented certificates and proclamations to further honor the awardees.

The Kerala Center Executive and Board members—including Raju Thomas, Abraham Thomas, Mathew Vazhappally, and John Paul—played key roles in coordinating the event. The evening featured Indian classical dance performances by Chandrika Kurup’s Noopura School of Dance, adding a vibrant cultural element to the celebration.

Associate Secretary Mary Philip concluded the ceremony with a heartfelt vote of thanks to the honored guests, awardees, sponsors, photographers, audience, and all who contributed to making the event a success. Dinner was provided by Spice Gardens, rounding off a memorable evening for the community.

Earlier this year, in March 2025, at the 25th IIFA Awards held in Jaipur, producer Boney Kapoor confirmed that he is making a film with Khushi Kapoor. He revealed that the project could be a sequel to *Mom* (2017), which starred his late wife and Khushi’s mother, the legendary Sridevi.

It has now come to light that the film is indeed titled *Mom 2*. Yesterday, pictures from the sets surfaced on the internet, sparking excitement among fans. Bollywood Hungama has since learned some interesting details about the film’s progress.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “*Mom 2* went on floors just after Diwali, on October 26, in Mumbai. Nearly 10 to 11 days of shooting have been completed and the film is progressing well. Khushi Kapoor plays a crucial role, and she’s joined by Karishma Tanna.”

The source further added, “*Mom* was directed by Ravi Udyawar. However, the sequel is directed by Girish Kohli. Girish was one of the story writers for the first film and also solely wrote its screenplay and dialogues. Producer Boney Kapoor felt that Girish was the best fit to do justice to *Mom 2* as he understands the series deeply, so he entrusted him with the directorial responsibilities. Girish has also proved his mettle with the Sohum Shah-starrer *Crazxy*, which released earlier this year.”

There is also buzz that Boney Kapoor plans to announce the film in a grand manner on his birthday, November 11. The source revealed, “A clearer idea about the announcement will emerge in a few days.”

At the 25th IIFA Awards, Boney Kapoor had expressed his admiration for Khushi’s work, saying, “I have watched all of Khushi’s films — *The Archies*, *Loveyapa*, and *Nadaniyaan*. I am planning a film with her too, after *No Entry 2*. It could be *Mom 2*. She is trying to follow in the footsteps of her mother. Her mother was the top star in all the languages she worked in. I hope Khushi and Janhvi succeed with the same level of perfection.”

Meanwhile, fans are eagerly hoping that Boney Kapoor’s other much-anticipated project, *No Entry 2*, the sequel to the 2005 blockbuster *No Entry*, also goes on floors soon.
