Nashik: Pregnant Woman Delivers Baby On Road In Trimbakeshwar After Ambulance Fails To Arrive

A pregnant tribal woman from Trimbakeshwar taluka was forced to give birth on the roadside on Wednesday after failing to receive an ambulance, despite calling for help two hours earlier.

According to reports, the woman, a resident of Vavi Harshe village in Trimbakeshwar, began experiencing labour pains early in the morning. Her family immediately contacted the government emergency helplines 102 and 108 from 6 a.m., requesting an ambulance.

However, their requests were repeatedly denied, allegedly on various pretexts. With no assistance forthcoming, the family placed the woman in a private vehicle and began the journey to Trimbakeshwar hospital for delivery.

Tragically, she delivered the baby inside the vehicle near her village before reaching the hospital. Fortunately, both mother and child are reported to be safe.

Hiraman Khoskar, the MLA from the region known for his work with tribal communities, has taken serious note of the incident. He has raised the issue with the district administration and demanded strict accountability.

Kerala Road Rage: Elderly Man Brutally Assaulted By Youths For ‘Not Giving Space For Car’ In Azhikode – VIDEO

**Elderly Man Assaulted by Youths in Azhikode Over Minor Traffic Dispute**

Azhikode (Kerala): In a disturbing incident reported from Azhikode, a 77-year-old man named Balakrishnan was brutally assaulted and verbally abused by a group of youths following a dispute over not giving way to a car. The shocking attack has garnered widespread attention after a video of the assault went viral on social media.

**Details of the Incident**

The assault took place on Sunday evening at around 4 pm, right in front of Balakrishnan’s residence on Shivaji Road, Mundachali, Azhikkal. According to the victim, while he was sitting inside his car, two young men approached him, asked something, and suddenly struck him on the back of his head without any apparent reason.

Balakrishnan later came to understand that the altercation stemmed from a disagreement related to not moving his car out of the way. “There was space for another car to pass. I still don’t know why they assaulted me,” he stated.

**Attack Captured on Video**

The video footage circulating on social media shows two youths punching, pushing, and slapping the elderly man while hurling verbal abuses. Another young man was seen recording the entire incident, which further spread the video online.

**Repeated Confrontation**

The victim also revealed that about half an hour after the initial attack, the same youths confronted him again near a shop by the Azhikkal Boat Bridge, where they assaulted him once more. Additional footage showing one of the youths threatening Balakrishnan in front of his house has also surfaced.

**Police Action**

Balakrishnan has reportedly claimed that he does not know the attackers and remains clueless about their motive. The assailants are believed to be between 20 and 25 years of age.

The Valappattanam police have registered a case against one individual in connection with the assault and are actively investigating the matter.

This incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of senior citizens and highlights the urgent need for respectful behavior and better conflict management within communities.

East Indians Demand Naming Of Mumbai Airport Terminal After Freedom Fighter Joseph ‘Kaka’ Baptista

Following the government’s decision to name the Navi Mumbai International Airport after D. B. Patil, a late local leader, members of the East Indian community have now urged authorities to rename the domestic terminal of the Mumbai airport in honour of freedom fighter Joseph Baptista, one of the city’s original inhabitants.

### Call for Recognition of East Indian Heritage

The East Indian community has drawn parallels between the histories of the two airports. While the Navi Mumbai airport was constructed on land acquired from Agris, Kolis, and other local castes, the Mumbai airport too was built on farmland belonging to East Indians, who are Roman Catholic converts from the same castes.

Community members argue that the contribution of East Indians, who gave up their ancestral land for urban development, deserves similar recognition.

### Honouring an Unsung Hero

Joseph “Kaka” Baptista, a close associate of Lokmanya Tilak, was a prominent freedom fighter, lawyer at the Bombay High Court, and also served as Mayor of Bombay.

Vicky Misquitta, from the Mobai Gaothan Panchayat’s Mumbai East Indian Bhumiputra Rights project, said that renaming one of the airport terminals after Baptista would be a fitting tribute to an unsung national hero and would acknowledge the East Indian community’s sacrifices.

“The East Indian community has a rich history, and their ancestral lands, including those in the Mumbai airport, are a testament to their significant contributions to the city as its indigenous people. The 7/12 extracts serve as proof of their ownership and connection to the land,” said Misquitta.

### Appeal for Government Consideration

Alphi D’Souza, MGP chief, whose family once owned land where the Mumbai airport now stands, commended the Navi Mumbai Agri community’s efforts to have the new airport named after D. B. Patil.

He urged the government to similarly honour Kaka Baptista for his immense contribution to India’s freedom struggle and for representing the voice of Mumbai’s original inhabitants.

Mumbai News: BMC Appoints Full-Time Ward Officers In Dongri, Marine Lines, Parel And Kandivali After Long Delay

**Mumbai: Four Administrative Wards Get Full-Time Ward Officers After Long Wait**

After a prolonged wait, four out of eight administrative wards in Mumbai will finally have full-time ward officers. On Friday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) administration appointed new ward officials—also known as Assistant Municipal Commissioners (AMCs)—in B (Dongri), C (Marine Lines), F South (Parel), and R South (Kandivali) wards.

These appointments were made based on recommendations from the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) following exams conducted to fill vacant AMC posts. Until now, these wards were managed by acting ward officials, mostly senior engineers, who lacked formal administrative training.

### Recruitment Process Delayed by Legal Challenges

The recruitment process for 14 ward officer posts was announced by the BMC in June 2021. After the exams and document verification, the final list of candidates was prepared. However, the process was stalled for over two years due to legal petitions filed by disqualified candidates.

The Supreme Court eventually allowed the BMC to proceed with appointing shortlisted candidates. Despite this directive, delays continued, leading to a contempt petition against the BMC. Finally, the MPSC released the final list, appointment letters were issued in November 2024, and training for the new officers was completed last month.

Meanwhile, senior engineers continued to fill the roles in an acting capacity without formal administrative training, raising concerns about delays and weakened oversight in ward administration.

### New Appointments and Transfers

On Friday, the BMC issued a series of administrative orders appointing the following officials as AMCs:

– Yogesh Desai as AMC of B Ward
– Santosh Salunkhe as AMC of C Ward
– Vrushali Ingule as AMC of F South Ward
– Aarti Golekar as AMC of R South Ward

Sanjay Ingle, previously serving as the Executive Engineer and acting in charge of C Ward, and Manish Salve, acting in charge of R South Ward, were relieved of their duties and sent back to the City Engineer Department.

Additionally, the civic authorities issued transfer orders for three AMCs:

– Nitin Shukla transferred from B Ward to K East Ward (Jogeshwari, Andheri East)
– Mahesh Patil transferred from F South to S Ward (Bhandup)
– Alka Sasane, AMC of S Ward, transferred to the Market Department

### Remaining Posts to be Filled Soon

A senior civic official stated, “Of the remaining four candidates, one has yet to be relieved from their previous posting, while another is currently on maternity leave. The other two are undergoing training and will be appointed as AMCs upon completion.”

Caught On Camera: Two Armed Robbers Enter Residential Society In Pune’s Kothrud

A CCTV footage capturing two armed robbers entering a residential society in Pune’s Kothrud has recently gone viral on social media. According to the footage, the incident took place at 5 am on Tuesday, September 29. This alarming event has raised concerns among local residents about the rising crime rate in the area.

In response, the police have begun analyzing CCTV footage from surrounding locations to help trace and apprehend the accused individuals.

**New Trick in Pune: Burglars Spray CCTV Cameras, Target Homes in Pimple Nilakh & Vishal Nagar**

Residents of Pimple Nilakh and Vishal Nagar in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area have expressed growing worries over the increasing number of criminal activities in their neighborhoods. Over the past few days, there have been multiple reports of burglaries, chain snatching incidents, and other theft-related crimes.

According to residents, unidentified groups have been seen roaming the streets of Pimple Nilakh and Vishal Nagar during daytime hours. These individuals appear to be conducting reconnaissance to identify potential properties to target at night.

One disturbing method being employed by these burglars is the use of a special spray that temporarily disables CCTV cameras. This spray damages the cameras’ vision capture, rendering them ineffective for approximately half an hour — ample time for the criminals to carry out their activities and flee the scene undetected.

Additionally, the burglars are reportedly using innovative, noise-free techniques to forcibly open doors, minimizing the chance of drawing unwanted attention.

Residents have noted that attempted robberies are occurring almost daily in the area over the past few months, intensifying their concerns and calling for increased police vigilance.

Authorities urge residents to remain cautious and report any suspicious activity immediately. Strengthening community awareness and cooperation with law enforcement is essential to combating this recent surge in crime.

In addition, the Indian Nursing Council has extended the cut-off date for admissions to October 31. This move aims to accommodate students affected by the recent adverse weather conditions.

Speaking on the development, Dileep Sardesai, IAS, Commissioner of the State Common Entrance Examination Cell, said,

Bhopal News: Gau Rakshak Group, Locals Clash Over Calf At Kolar Road Area

Tension Erupts Over Calf’s Condition in Bhopal’s Kolar Road Area

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Tension flared in the Kolar Road area on Sunday when members of a self-proclaimed Gau Rakshak Dal and a local family got into a scuffle over the condition of a calf. The incident took place at the residence of Saroj Trivedi in Vandana Nagar and ended with complaints being filed by both parties, prompting police to initiate an investigation.

According to reports, around four to five persons identifying themselves as members of Bajrang Dal and Gau Raksha arrived at Trivedi’s house, claiming that a calf on the premises was unwell. Trivedi denied the claim and insisted the calf was fine. The discussion quickly escalated into an argument, followed by verbal abuse and a physical altercation.

Following the incident, Saroj Trivedi submitted a written complaint at the Kolar Road police station. Meanwhile, Gau Rakshak members—Priyanshu Gupta, Rohit Balmik, and Abhishek Rajput—filed a counter-complaint. They alleged that they had come only to help the calf based on information received but were instead verbally abused and physically assaulted by the family.

Kolar police station in-charge Sanjay Soni confirmed that written complaints from both sides have been received. He added that legal action will be taken after a thorough investigation into the matter.
