The Eagles did enough to beat the Vikings, but they know they still need to be better

Saquon Barkley didn’t want to sound like a broken record. After rushing for just 44 yards with a long of nine, he admitted, “I gotta do a better job of not taking negative runs. I keep saying that, and I sound like a broken record, but that’s something I gotta do. I own it, but at the end of the day, what’s most important is we won the football game. I’m excited about that. It felt good to win the game.”

Lane Johnson declined to speak postgame, feeling there was nothing he could say to the media that would help the team, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane. Meanwhile, head coach Nick Sirianni acknowledged the win but didn’t shy away from the problems still looming.

The Eagles survived a dicey Sunday in Minnesota, beating the Vikings 28-22. They rebounded from consecutive ugly losses to improve to 5-2 and maintain a clear lead in the NFC East.

Jalen Hurts was outstanding, throwing for 326 yards and three touchdowns while recording the third-ever perfect passer rating in Eagles history. A.J. Brown caught two touchdowns and amassed 121 yards, and DeVonta Smith grabbed a score along with a career-high 183 receiving yards. On defense, the Eagles forced two turnovers and largely pressured old friend Carson Wentz in the pocket.

However, Wentz kept driving the Vikings deep into Eagles territory repeatedly. The defense struggled because Quinyon Mitchell can’t cover Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison simultaneously. Offensively, aside from the big plays, the Eagles still had trouble avoiding stalled drives. And Barkley’s running game—expected to be a dominant force—remains ineffective, hampered further by an increasingly banged-up offensive line.

Though the Eagles won, they missed chances to bury the Vikings at several points. Instead, they let them hang around and the game came down to a crucial 3rd-and-long gamble on a toss-up to Brown, followed by some unconventional clock management to drain the timer completely. But for now, that was enough.

This performance was a stark contrast to the previous two weeks against the Broncos and Giants. Whether they can repeat it next Sunday against the Giants at home remains to be seen. Still, the Eagles have to accept the win and recognize they can’t keep relying on this level of play.

DeVonta Smith’s touchdown and career-high 183 receiving yards were major factors in the victory. As Brad Rempel/Imagn Images highlighted, Smith’s impact was undeniable.

The Eagles’ offensive identity since the Hurts-Sirianni era began has leaned heavily on the run—especially after Barkley signed with the team over a year ago. But that hasn’t materialized this season, and the defense isn’t facing easy competition every week. After facing Wentz, they now prepare for a hotshot Jaxson Dart coming back after the Giants caught them off guard last week. Then they face Jordan Love and a Packers team motivated after the bye, followed by Jared Goff and a tough Lions squad.

They know improvements are essential.

As Sirianni said postgame, “Find a way to win, and then identify issues and get better from it. I know how I felt for the last two weeks not winning, so I’m never gonna take a win for granted ever again. I think sometimes in the midst of it, you can be like ‘Man, we’ll be there, we’ll get there.’ But we’re going to enjoy the heck out of this thing, and then we’re going to identify the things that we need to work on.”

It remains a double-edged sword for the Eagles. In 2023, they played ugly for much of the season but managed to get by—until their luck ran out, causing a spiral. In 2024, after starting rough and playing ugly for some time, everything clicked and they powered their way to the Super Bowl. For 2025, the jury is still out.

For now, Sunday’s win is enough—but nothing to rest on.

“Our philosophy is always gonna be do whatever we gotta do to win games every single time,” Sirianni added. “And then we do what we gotta do to identify problems. We’re gonna be so excited any time we win a game. We really don’t care how it looks.”

**Key Highlights:**

– Jalen Hurts: 326 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, perfect passer rating
– A.J. Brown: 2 touchdowns, 121 receiving yards
– DeVonta Smith: 1 touchdown, career-high 183 receiving yards
– Defense: 2 turnovers, consistent pressure on Carson Wentz

Bob’s Burgers Creator Knows The Heartwarming Reason The Belchers Are So Popular

Although the animated sitcom *Bob’s Burgers* premiered in 2011 to mixed reviews, it is now entering its 16th season more beloved than ever.

Unlike its long-running network peers *The Simpsons* and *Family Guy*, *Bob’s Burgers* is a rare animated sitcom that doesn’t have a clear golden age it has fallen from. There are no “bad” seasons fans can unanimously point to, nor are there any “jump the shark” moments like Principal Skinner being revealed as an imposter on *The Simpsons* or Brian Griffin being killed off on *Family Guy*.

The secret, according to the show’s creator Loren Bouchard, is that the characters of *Bob’s Burgers* have a goal they’re working towards. As he told *Variety* in September 2025:

> “It’s a hopeful show about a working-class family with this irrational, creative, barely profitable dream at the heart of it — the restaurant. And because they never age, we’ll never know if they’ll succeed or if they’ll fail, but we feel their drive and their fundamental optimism, and that’s probably valuable to some folks. Optimism is an underrated and complicated thing. Cynics can dismiss it, but that’s because when it’s done poorly in entertainment, it plays like schmaltz. ‘Bob’s’ is about a grittier, deeper hope and how it works for you, even in hard times.”

Bouchard also praised the characters themselves, noting, “In the end, if you’re making character-driven comedy, then you have to give credit to the characters for any success you might achieve. People have to want to spend time with them.”

When people discuss the differences between *Bob’s Burgers* and shows like *Family Guy* and *The Simpsons*, they often point to the series’ animation styles or differing senses of humor. However, the family business aspect is a crucial factor that is often overlooked.

*The Simpsons* and the Griffins are families without long-term goals beyond going to school or work. Sometimes, one of the characters will start a business, but that adventure is typically wrapped up within 22 minutes. There is an aimlessness to these characters’ lives that quietly haunts the shows, made all the more unsettling by how they never age. These characters aren’t striving for anything, and neither, it seems, are their series.

Admittedly, *Bob’s Burgers* has the advantage of not being as old as these shows. Even as it approaches its 40th anniversary, *The Simpsons* still manages to deliver some “bangers” now and then. One could even argue it enjoyed a mini golden age — perhaps a silver age — from seasons 17 to 21.

Meanwhile, it’s unclear if *Bob’s Burgers* will last as long while maintaining its current high quality. Still, the show is determined to try. As Bouchard explained in that *Variety* interview:

> “We’ll keep making the show as long as people want to see it and as long as we have stories to tell. In some ways, we’re just getting started.”

5 Euroletten Einlösen Casino Neue Casinos online Maklercourtage

### Unsere Empfehlung: Die besten 5-Euro-Casinos

1983 Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup 5-Speed at No Reserve

This 1983 Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup has an interesting history, having spent time in California and Arizona before being acquired by the current seller in 2017. Finished in Diamond Silver Metallic over Camel leatherette, this truck offers a blend of classic style and tasteful modern upgrades.

Under the hood, the Rabbit Pickup is powered by a 1.7-liter inline-four engine paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The engine features Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, delivering the original factory-rated 74 horsepower and 89 lb-ft of torque. The power is sent to the front wheels, maintaining the vehicle’s authentic driving experience.

The exterior is finished in Diamond Silver Metallic (LE7Y) and includes several distinctive touches such as a body-color front bumper cover, LED front turn signals, projector-style headlights, and Kamei-style hood vents. Additional features include dual side mirrors, factory integrated bed tie-downs, aftermarket taillights, a rear bumper delete, and an LED underglow kit for a modern flair. The truck rides on aftermarket 16″ web-spoke alloy wheels with gunmetal centers and polished lips, wrapped in Haida Racing HD921 tires. The lowered suspension setup includes adjustable front coilovers and rear drop plates with air shocks, enhancing both stance and handling.

Braking duties are handled by power-assisted front disc brakes paired with rear drums. Close-up photos reveal some minor imperfections, including a warped grille and blemishes in the paint, which are detailed in the accompanying gallery.

Inside, the cabin features bucket seats trimmed in Camel leatherette, complete with MK1 embroidery on the headrests. Unique appointments include a galaxy-style starlight headliner with integrated LED lighting, adding a touch of ambiance. The interior is also equipped with crank windows, a Bluetooth-capable Kenwood stereo connected to Rockford Fosgate speakers mounted behind the seats, and a two-spoke steering wheel framing an 85-mph speedometer alongside a fuel-level gauge.

Additional gauges for voltage, oil temperature, and oil pressure are mounted in a pod ahead of the shifter. Note that the six-digit odometer stopped working at approximately 41,000 miles, so the total mileage is unknown. The clock is non-functional, and the coolant temperature gauge occasionally sticks. The heating system’s blower motor is also inoperative.

Documentation includes a clean Carfax report showing the truck to be accident-free since its initial record in July 1992. However, the report does note a mileage inconsistency from August 2010 and “Exceeds Mechanical Limits” titles issued in August 2015 and June 2016.

Additional maintenance highlights include a battery replacement completed in April 2025. The truck is offered at no reserve and comes with removed parts, a Michigan title in the seller’s name, and detailed vehicle history.

This Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup presents a unique opportunity for enthusiasts seeking a classic compact truck with a tasteful mix of factory originality and modern upgrades.

Larkin and Finne each score twice, lift surging Red Wings to a 4-2 win over Oilers

DETROIT (AP) — Dylan Larkin and rookie Emmitt Finne each scored twice to help the surging Detroit Red Wings beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 on Sunday.

Detroit has now won five straight games after opening the season with a 5-1 loss to Montreal. Meanwhile, Edmonton has a losing record following their third consecutive defeat. Superstar Connor McDavid extended his career-long, season-opening goal drought to six games.

Detroit’s John Gibson made 16 saves, including a key stop denying McDavid midway through the third period. On the same shift, Larkin poked the puck away from the three-time NHL MVP, preventing another potential scoring opportunity for the Oilers. Edmonton’s Stuart Skinner finished with 21 saves.

Late in the game, Leon Draisaitl was all alone with a chance to tie the score for Edmonton but lost control of the puck. Shortly thereafter, Finne scored an empty-net goal to seal the victory for Detroit.

Finne, a 2023 seventh-round pick, opened the scoring midway through the second period to put Detroit ahead 2-0. Larkin had broken the scoreless tie just minutes earlier in the period.

Larkin, who has recorded a point in all six games this season, restored Detroit’s two-goal lead late in the third period after Edmonton’s Noah Philp had pulled the Oilers within one. The Red Wings’ captain is now the third player in franchise history to have multiple season-opening point streaks of six or more games, joining Hall of Famers Gordie Howe and Steve Yzerman.

This strong start is a much-needed boost for Detroit, which extended its franchise-record postseason drought to nine years last spring.

For the Oilers, this marks their first game without earning a point against Detroit in eight matchups, ending their longest active winning streak against any NHL opponent. The team is also coming off back-to-back losses in last season’s Stanley Cup Final.

**Up Next:**
– Oilers: At Ottawa on Tuesday night
– Red Wings: At Buffalo on Wednesday night
