Pimpri-Chinchwad: Shiv Sena (UBT) Holds Protest Demanding Loan Waiver, Compensation For Rain-Hit Farmers

**Pimpri-Chinchwad: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) City Unit Protests for Farmer Compensation and Loan Waiver**

The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Pimpri-Chinchwad city unit organised a protest march on Wednesday in front of the Tehsildar’s office in Nigdi. The protest aimed to demand adequate compensation for farmers affected by excessive rainfall and a complete loan waiver for farmers across Maharashtra.

According to Uddhav Sena workers, heavy rains have recently battered various parts of the state, disrupting daily life and causing significant losses to farmers. In response, the party has urged the Maharashtra government to provide fair compensation to those impacted by the adverse weather conditions. Additionally, they have called for a complete and unconditional loan waiver to alleviate the financial burden on farmers.

The march was led by key party leaders including District Chief Gautam Chabukswar, City Chief Sanjog Waghere Patil, and City Organiser Rupali Alhat. They were accompanied by prominent members such as Chetan Pawar, Romi Sandhu, Vaibhavi Ghodke, Tushar Navale, Dhananjay Alhat, Kailas Nevaskar, Yuvraj Kokate, Dnyaneshwar Shinde, Parth Gurav, among other officials and party workers.

### Opposition Parties Demand Full Loan Waiver

The demand for a full loan waiver for farmers has been a recurring issue raised by opposition parties in Maharashtra. The Shiv Sena (UBT) has repeatedly highlighted this matter, referencing their previous tenure in government where such measures were implemented.

Recently, speaking to the media in Pune, NCP-SP MP Supriya Sule also emphasized the necessity of a loan waiver, stating, “Farmers need this.” She called on the Maharashtra government to prioritise the welfare of farmers and provide the necessary support during these challenging times.

The protests and demands reflect growing concerns over the impact of excessive rainfall on agriculture and the urgent need to support the farming community in Maharashtra.

Dussehra Melava 2025: Heavy Rains Force Shiv Sena (UBT) To Trim Rally Speeches In Mumbai – Reports

Mumbai: With unrelenting showers lashing the city, organisers of the Dussehra Melava are reportedly preparing to scale down the number of speeches by party leaders.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) is gearing up for the grand Dussehra Melava, its annual event at the traditional venue, Shivaji Park in Dadar West, starting at 5:00 PM. However, due to persistent rain, organisers are considering compressing the event’s timeline, which may reduce the opportunity for additional speakers.

As per media reports, only Uddhav Thackeray, Sanjay Raut, and Ambadas Danve are currently slated to address the gathering. Danve is expected to speak on the Marathwada famine. If weather conditions improve and the skies clear, Bhaskar Jadhav and Sushma Andhare may still be allowed to deliver their speeches.

The decision to shorten the program appears to be driven by concerns over logistics and crowd safety. Heavy downpours could hamper stage operations, microphone setups, audience management, and transit to and from the venue. Party insiders say the schedule is being kept flexible to allow for adjustments on the spot, depending on rainfall intensity.

Earlier, the Shiv Sena (UBT) faced criticism from the BJP over holding large public rallies amid flood conditions in parts of Maharashtra. BJP leaders suggested that funds allocated for the rally might be better utilized for relief efforts. In response, Sanjay Raut defended the rally, stating that such events have taken place even during inclement weather in the past, and emphasized the symbolic value of this Melava.

In the coming hours, organisers and security teams will closely monitor weather updates with the aim of striking a balance between fulfilling political rituals and ensuring public safety. If the rain persists, a minimum lineup featuring Thackeray, Raut, and Danve will likely be maintained, with other leaders standing by.
