Trump: U.S. is open to ‘having some discussions with Maduro’ amid military activity surrounding Venezuela

OAN Staff Blake Wolf 11: 16 AM Monday, November 17, 2025 President Donald Trump has indicated openness to discussions with socialist Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro as the United States continues its military buildup in the Caribbean. While speaking to reporters in West Palm Beach, Florida, ahead of boarding Air Force One. He indicated openness to diplomatic engagement with the Venezuelan president amid heightened U. S. military deployments in the Caribbean, including the arrival of the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier and ongoing strikes against suspected drug-trafficking vessels linked to Venezuelan cartels. President Trump left the door open for diplomacy, while also keeping the option of military force on the table. In addition, the GOP Commander-in-Chief noted that his administration is set to designate the “Cartel de los Soles” as a foreign terrorist organization (FTO), explaining that the U. S. believes it is run by Maduro-an action that allows the United States to target his assets or infrastructure legally. The U. S. State Department stated it “intends to designate Cartel de los Soles as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO), effective November 24, 2025.” This action, under Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, enables the U. S. to use military force against the group’s assets without a formal declaration of war, including targeting infrastructure linked to drug trafficking or terrorism. “It allows us to do that,” Trump stated, referencing the Venezuelan FTO designation. “But we haven’t said we’re going to do that blasts directly to your inbox for free. San Carlos Community Garden unveils sensory garden project

Overview: San Carlos Community Garden With direction provided by SCCG’s leadership team and Sierra’s lead occupational therapist, Mercer’s sensory garden design transformed a small, underused corner of the garden into an area that sparks curiosity “to be and to learn” in harmony with nature. Over the last 13 years, the San Carlos Community Garden has become a cherished spot for connection, learning, playing, gardening, and wellness. Now, thanks to a generous donation from Blue Shield of California and a day of volunteering, the SCCG will soon complete its newest addition and contribution to the Sierra School of San Diego and the community at large: A thoughtfully designed sensory garden where visitors can touch, smell, see, and hear the wonders of nature in an immersive way. The SCCG also received generous in-kind contributions from George Mercer, SCCG’s original landscape architect, and locally-owned businesses Epic Gardening, Ewing Irrigation, Sunbelt Rentals on Mission Gorge and Southwest Boulder and Stone. With direction provided by SCCG’s leadership team and Sierra’s lead occupational therapist, Mercer’s sensory garden design transformed a small, underused corner of the garden into an area that sparks curiosity “to be and to learn” in harmony with nature. The design was also intended to be a welcoming space for the Sierra School, which serves students with a range of special needs, including autism spectrum disorders, learning differences, and emotional or behavioral challenges. “The sensory garden will provide an outdoor classroom where Sierra teachers and therapists can provide hands-on, sensory-based experiences along with lessons about nature, science, and self-regulation,” said Mercer. “Students will be able to dig in the soil, feel the textures of different leaves, listen to rustling leaves, and taste edible plants experiences that help strengthen motor skills, stimulate curiosity, and promote calmness and focus.” Like a scene from “Extreme Makeovers,” on Oct. 10, more than a dozen Blue Shield of California volunteers worked alongside the SCCG leadership team and Sierra School teachers and students to bring the sensory garden design to life. In just three hours, volunteers constructed and filled raised beds with healthy soil and compost; planted three soon-to-be towering crepe myrtles for future shade and ambience; built a three-tiered herb spiral complete with herbs soon to spill over its sides; and planted more than a dozen pollinator plants around the perimeter of the sensory garden. By funding the sensory garden, Blue Shield and the other supporting businesses have helped create a lasting resource that benefits not only Sierra School students but also the San Carlos community at large. The sensory garden is expected to be complete and open to the public by early December. Community members can learn more about leasing a plot, becoming a volunteer, or supporting SCCG as an annual growing community garden member for just $40 per year at sancarloscommunitygarden. com.

Kash Patel’s Girlfriend Alexis Wilkins Receives FBI SWAT Security Amid ‘Hundreds’ of Vile Death Threats, Scrutiny Over Government Jet Rides

The girlfriend of FBI Director Kash Patel has been assigned a security detail composed of FBI agents from the bureau’s Nashville field office’s SWAT team an arrangement that comes as the country singer has been subject to a torrent of sexually graphic and violent threats made on social media and over the phone, the New York Sun can confirm. Country singer Alexis Wilkins, 27, who is based in Nashville and Washington, receives “hundreds of credible threats” in light of her relationship with Mr. Patel, whom she has dated for three years, an FBI spokesperson tells The Sun. Many of the messages, which The Sun has reviewed, are sexually graphic and violent in tone and intent, and the FBI believes they are credible and put Ms. Wilkins’s safety at risk. In a direct message sent to Ms. Wilkins over social media, one person threatens to “put my whole shaft through the back of your throat.” That same social media user sends a second message to Ms. Wilkins saying, “can’t wait to celebrate your death, especially if im (sic) the one causing it. One post from a now-suspended account on X “doxxed” Ms. Wilkins, who the account calls “PATEL ZIONIST JEW GIRLFRIEND,” which included her address and information related to her relatives. MSNOW was first to report on Ms. Wilkins’s security detail, which is composed of members of the FBI Nashville’s SWAT team, though the newly re-named liberal media outlet did not mention the death threats. MSNOW claims that the unprecedented security arrangement is raising concerns that assigning law enforcement specialists to Ms. Wilkins’s detail could potentially delay local officials from responding to other developments “such as mass shootings or terror attacks.” Ms. Wilkins has been in the spotlight in recent weeks after filing several defamation lawsuits against shock-jock podcasters like ex-FBI agent Kyle Seraphin and RiftTV CEO Elijah Schaffer who have accused her of being an Israeli honeypot. She was also flown in a private government plane regularly used by Mr. Patel to accompany him to a wrestling event in Pennsylvania, where she was booked to sing the national anthem. The trip itself, made during the government shutdown, drew fresh scrutiny to Mr. Patel’s overall use of the private plane for personal reasons. Though he is mandated by Congress to fly on planes equipped with secure communications technology, and must reimburse the government for the cost of a commercial ticket if he uses the jet for personal travel, the trip reportedly triggered criticism from within the Trump administration, including from Attorney General Pam Bondi, which she has since denied. In October, Mr. Seraphin alluded to Ms. Wilkins’s security detail on his X account after responding to a post of hers accusing him of generating “fake outrage.” “One of us has an FBI security detail despite not being part of the government or even married to someone in the government,” Mr. Seraphin wrote in an October 31 post on X. Not since J. Edgar Hoover has the FBI had an unmarried director, making the security detail assigned to Ms. Wilkins more unique. Former FBI Director Christopher Wray’s wife, Helen, reportedly received a security detail during his time in the bureau, MSNOW reported. Earlier this month, Mr. Patel went on his personal X account to defend Ms. Wilkins, calling her a “rock-solid conservative and a country music sensation” and his “partner in life.” “Attacking her isn’t just wrong it’s cowardly and jeopardizes our safety,” Mr. Patel wrote on X. An attorney from the Binnall Group, the law firm representing Ms. Wilkins did not respond to a request for comment from The Sun.
