Tennessee Titans activate Tyjae Spears, elevate two for Week 5 matchup with Arizona

The Tennessee Titans are heading to Arizona for their Week 5 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale, and they’ve made a series of roster moves in preparation for the game.

Tennessee started by adding some spark to their backfield, activating running back Tyjae Spears from injured reserve. This is a significant boost for an offense that has struggled to find explosive plays through the first four weeks of the season. With no other running backs elevated for the week, Spears is expected to suit up and serve as the primary backup to Tony Pollard.

This will mark Spears’ first action of 2025 after he suffered an ankle injury in the preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which led to his placement on injured reserve.

To make room for Spears on the active roster, the Titans placed safety Mike Brown on injured reserve due to a knee injury. Brown is now set to miss at least the next four weeks as he recovers.

In addition to these moves, Tennessee also dipped into its practice squad to bolster the lineup ahead of Sunday’s game. The Titans used standard elevations to make safety Kendell Brooks and wide receiver James Proche eligible.

The elevation of Proche brings added attention to the availability of Calvin Ridley for Sunday’s contest. Ridley was limited in practice on Friday after missing the first two sessions of the week and remains questionable on the injury report heading into the weekend.

Brooks’ elevation aligns with the team’s decision to place Mike Brown on injured reserve. Recently added to the practice squad, Brooks had a solid preseason showing and is known as a special-teams standout.

The Tennessee Titans will face the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon in Glendale, Arizona, eager to bring renewed energy to their offense and defense alike.

Australia’s Beau Webster suffers injury scare ahead of Ashes

**Australia’s Beau Webster Suffers Injury Scare Ahead of Ashes**

*By Gaurav Tripathi | October 4, 2025, 09:50 AM*

Australian all-rounder Beau Webster has been ruled out of Tasmania’s opening match in the Sheffield Shield season against Queensland after suffering an ankle injury. Fortunately, the injury is not considered serious. Webster will be reassessed ahead of Tasmania’s One-Day Cup match against Queensland on Thursday and before the second round of the Shield tournament.

**Looking Ahead to the Ashes**

Webster is expected to be part of Australia’s squad for the upcoming home Ashes series, starting November 21. He had initially planned to play all four of Tasmania’s Sheffield Shield matches before the Ashes kick off.

Despite a strong start to his Test career—including four half-centuries in seven matches under tough batting conditions—Webster’s spot in the Test eleven could be under pressure. The likely return of Cameron Green to unrestricted bowling duties may alter team dynamics and spark selection debates.

**Team Dynamics and Player Aspirations**

Before the season began, Webster spoke candidly to ESPNcricinfo about his hopes to play alongside Cameron Green. He said, “If you’re scoring runs in the top six batters for Australia, then if you can bowl it’s a bonus.” Webster expressed his desire for both players to contribute with bat and ball to help Australia secure victories.

**Strong Domestic Season Start**

Webster’s domestic season has started on a high note. In two One-Day Cup matches, he took five wickets and also scored an impressive 81 runs off 95 balls in the second match against Victoria. These performances underline his importance to Tasmania and highlight his potential impact for Australia—despite the current injury setback.

The coming weeks will be crucial as Webster works on his recovery and aims to be fully fit for the key fixtures ahead. Cricket fans will be watching closely as he vies to maintain his place ahead of the prestigious Ashes series.

Dolphins beat sloppy Jets but Tyreek Hill sustains feared season-ending injury

Miami’s Darren Waller had a pair of touchdown catches in his first NFL game in nearly two years, but the Dolphins’ first win of the season, a 27-21 victory over the New York Jets, was marred by a suspected dislocated knee for their star receiver, Tyreek Hill.

The Dolphins lost Hill in the third quarter. The five-time All-Pro made a catch and landed awkwardly on his left leg after being tackled near the New York Jets sideline. Players from both teams watched anxiously as Hill was tended to and then carted off the field. The Dolphins later issued a statement saying he was being taken to a local hospital for imaging, evaluation, and observation.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported later Monday night that the Dolphins fear Hill suffered a dislocated knee. If confirmed, the injury would almost certainly end the 31-year-old’s season.

Despite the injury, the eight-time Pro Bowler showed a brave face as he was taken off the field, smiling and waving to the home crowd. Since entering the NFL in 2017, Hill has amassed 11,363 receiving yards—the most in the league during that span. He also has 819 catches, ranking fourth most since 2017 behind Davante Adams (886), Travis Kelce (880), and Stefon Diggs (824).

On the field, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa led the Dolphins to victory, throwing for 177 yards and two touchdowns. He completed 17 of 25 passes without a turnover for the first time this season, moving his record to 7-0 against the Jets as Miami’s starter.

The Dolphins (1-3) secured their 10th straight home win against the Jets (0-4), who are still searching for their first victory under coach Aaron Glenn. The Jets pulled within six points with 1:49 left in the game when Garrett Wilson caught a 23-yard jump ball from Justin Fields, who then ran it in for a successful two-point conversion.

After recovering the ensuing onside kick, the Dolphins went three-and-out while running down the clock to 13 seconds. Miami then pinned the Jets on their own one-yard line, and the game ended on a Jets play involving a series of laterals, one of which was flagged for an illegal forward pass.

“I’m not losing hope in our guys at all,” Glenn said after the game. “We’ve just got to go back and work; that’s all we can do.”

Waller, playing his first game since the end of the 2023 season, caught a four-yard touchdown pass in the back of the end zone from Tagovailoa on a fourth-and-goal in the second quarter. The 33-year-old scored again on a nine-yard catch in the third quarter that put Miami ahead 17-3. He finished with three receptions for 27 yards.

The Dolphins amassed 123 rushing yards behind Devon Achane’s 20 carries for 99 yards, including a nine-yard scoring run.

For the Jets, quarterback Justin Fields completed 20 of 27 passes for 226 yards in his return from a concussion that sidelined him in Week 3. He added 81 yards rushing, highlighted by a 43-yard scramble for a touchdown on fourth-and-one that pulled the Jets within a touchdown midway through the third quarter.

New York gained 197 of their 404 total yards on the ground with a highly effective rushing attack averaging seven yards per carry. However, the Jets turned the ball over three times and were penalized 13 times for a total of 101 yards, including an offensive pass interference against Wilson that wiped out a touchdown in the third quarter.
