Crypto News: Bitwise CEO Says Four-Year Crypto Cycle Is Dead

**Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley Declares the Four-Year Crypto Cycle Dead, Citing Market Maturity Driven by Bitcoin ETFs and Regulatory Shifts**

Hunter Horsley, CEO of investment firm Bitwise, has declared that the traditional four-year crypto cycle is no longer relevant. According to Horsley, this cycle has been replaced by a more mature market structure shaped by the introduction of Bitcoin ETFs and significant regulatory changes in the United States.

### A New Market Structure Emerges

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Horsley explained that the old four-year market cycle belongs to a “bygone era” of cryptocurrency. He emphasized that the market has evolved considerably, stating:

> “Since the introduction of the Bitcoin ETFs and new administration, we’ve seen a new market structure, new players, new dynamics, new reasons people buy and sell.”

This shift marks a fundamental change in how the crypto market functions. The landscape now includes fresh participants and novel market behaviors, moving away from the volatility often driven by retail investors in the past.

### Optimism Amid Recent Market Turbulence

Despite the sharp downturn in asset prices and investor sentiment observed during October and November, Horsley remains optimistic about the crypto market’s long-term fundamentals. He suggested that the market has likely been in a bear phase for almost six months and that the end of this phase is near.

“The setup for crypto right now has never been better,” Horsley commented, highlighting the positive outlook despite recent challenges.

### Institutional Adoption and Regulatory Tailwinds

A major driver behind this market evolution is the growing involvement of institutional investors. Unlike previous cycles primarily influenced by retail traders, today’s crypto market sees substantial capital inflows from large institutions. This influx brings different trading patterns and stability to the market.

Regulatory clarity has also improved, shifting from a historical headwind to a supportive tailwind for crypto assets. The pro-crypto regulatory pivot, particularly in the U.S., fosters a constructive environment for investors. According to Horsley, the White House and lawmakers are playing an active role in shaping policies that facilitate more open interaction with cryptocurrencies.

This positive regulatory climate is a game-changer, contributing to a more stabilized and predictable market. The presence of institutional capital reduces reliance on retail sentiment swings and curbs extreme volatility.

### Perspectives on Market Liquidity and Price Movements

Financial educator Robert Kiyosaki has attributed recent crypto market downturns to low liquidity levels. Kiyosaki forecasts that prices for cryptocurrencies and precious metals could rise as governments resort to printing more money to finance budget deficits, potentially fueling asset price increases.

### Looking Ahead: A More Mature Crypto Market

Hunter Horsley’s insights signal a new era for the crypto market—one characterized by maturity, stability, and sustained growth. The integration of Bitcoin ETFs, combined with clearer regulatory frameworks and institutional participation, sets the stage for broader adoption and long-term expansion.

As the market transitions away from volatile four-year cycles toward a more structured environment, investors may find new opportunities grounded in fundamental strengths rather than speculative hype.

Trevor Connelly makes season debut with the Silver Knights

While most of the headlines surrounding the Henderson Silver Knights focused on whether Carter Hart would make his official return to professional hockey, the spotlight overshadowed the comeback of another player equally important within the Vegas Golden Knights’ farm system.

Back in July, forward Trevor Connelly suffered a lower-body injury during the World Juniors showcase. The Golden Knights held rookie camp without their top prospect, and the Silver Knights had to start their season without one of their key X-factors.

However, fans finally got to witness the moment they had been waiting for, as Connelly made his season debut on Saturday against the Calgary Wranglers.

It didn’t take long for Connelly to make an impact. After Martin Frk put the Wranglers on the board just 18 seconds into the game, Connelly and the Silver Knights capitalized on a power play opportunity. Connelly was instrumental in the goal, finding Raphael Lavoie, who crashed the net and pushed the tying goal across the line.

“Trevor played well. He has the puck, you can see the skill. It’s his first game since, for us, last April,” said Silver Knights head coach Ryan Craig. “He’s playing catch-up, and the league continues to get faster just like any league as it goes through. Trevor did a good job, I thought, with his first game. He can now take a deep breath in knowing that he gets through it healthy and we can work from there.”

The Wranglers responded with their own power play goal from Justin Kirkland to take a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period.

The Silver Knights bounced back early in the second period. Dylan Coghlan scored a snipe from the point to tie the game, followed by crisp passing that left Jonas Rondbjerg with enough space to give Henderson their first lead of the night.

“Just the shot mentality. It was nice to get one four seconds into the power play, and the next power play, we’re snapping it around pretty good,” said Coghlan, reflecting on the effectiveness of the Henderson power play unit.

Unfortunately for the Silver Knights, things quickly unraveled after that with three unanswered goals from Calgary, pushing the score to 5-3.

Henderson inched closer thanks to Tuomas Uronen. The 2023 sixth-round pick, who has looked like a steal in his first year with the Silver Knights, continued his impressive start by netting his seventh goal in just his first ten career AHL games.

That goal was the closest Henderson would get to a comeback, as Frk completed his hat trick to seal a 6-4 win for the Wranglers.

Despite the loss, the Silver Knights did not go down without a fight—a tenacity that earned the respect of Coach Craig.

“Tonight, after getting scored on 18 seconds in, our pushback and resolve, we go up 3-2 seven minutes into the second period. So, it’s how you manage those momentum swings. You know that they’re going to push back; there are good teams that we’re playing each and every night. It’s how we respond to that,” Craig remarked about his team’s compete level.

Connelly and the Silver Knights will get another opportunity to face the Wranglers on Sunday, with Carter Hart’s return now looking on the horizon.

Best Altcoins To Buy Now in Q4 2025: GhostWareOS, Digitap, Remittix

**Best Altcoins To Buy Now in Q4 2025: GhostWareOS, Digitap, Remittix**

After a cycle packed with forgotten whitepapers and never-ending lock-ups, traders are now focusing on projects that deliver real infrastructure — usable privacy, crypto-fiat rails, and remittances that land directly in bank accounts, not just on-chain wallets.

Three altcoins consistently emerge in discussions about the best buys right now: **GhostWareOS (HOST), Digitap (AP), and Remittix (TX)**. Each operates in a distinct niche and boasts roadmaps worth a closer look.

### GhostWareOS (GHOST): Privacy Infrastructure On Solana

GhostWareOS was built to serve as Solana’s privacy layer. It offers a full stack—from anonymous payments to encrypted communication—leveraging one of the fastest and most liquid networks in the market.

Instead of launching a separate blockchain, GhostWareOS creates a privacy operating system on top of Solana. Its modular layers can function independently or together, all anchored to Solana’s liquidity and speed. The native HOST token, an SPL asset on Solana, is used for routing and incentives within the ecosystem.

In practice, GhostWareOS operates like core infrastructure: the more its privacy layer is used, the higher the fee volume that tends to flow back to token holders.

At the core of GhostWareOS is **GhostPay**, a private payments layer that makes both senders and receivers anonymous while keeping transactions fast and on-chain. GhostPay employs techniques like stealth addresses, intermediary routing, and cryptographic proofs to obfuscate transaction paths without compromising the network’s security.

### Digitap (AP): Omnibank Altcoin For Crypto-Fiat Rails

Digitap is a crypto-fiat omnibank — a live banking app that lets users store, send, and spend fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies within the same platform. It offers physical and virtual Visa cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay integration, with support in over 180 countries.

Behind its modern neobank interface, Digitap operates as an interoperable settlement layer. Its multi-rail architecture connects traditional payment rails like SWIFT, SEPA, ACH, and Faster Payments to public blockchains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

This multi-rail setup means the system chooses the best settlement method for each transfer—whether a classic banking network like SEPA for euro transfers or a blockchain—based on cost, speed, and foreign exchange conditions.

For users, Digitap means one app with multiple currency balances and a simple send button. The routing between payment rails and blockchains is seamless and abstracted away.

Digitap aims to reduce the need to juggle multiple apps, accounts, and cards when moving assets between crypto and traditional banking systems. It keeps KYC and compliance where required while offering more flexible onboarding in regions with limited financial access.

### Remittix (TX): PayFi And Cross-Border Crypto-To-Fiat Flows

Remittix brands itself as a **PayFi protocol**, combining payments and DeFi to tackle the global remittance and payments market.

Unlike projects focusing on speculative trading, Remittix is designed to enable users to send crypto while recipients receive funds directly in their bank accounts in local fiat currency—featuring low friction and predictable fees.

Currently in its presale phase, Remittix’s real-world coverage and fees will depend on how effectively the team executes the roadmap.

The user flow begins with a Web3 wallet connected to Remittix’s official site. Users pay in supported cryptocurrencies (ETH, USDT, etc.), and Remittix converts these amounts into over 30 fiat currencies. The funds are then settled into bank accounts across more than 30 countries, using a blend of traditional banking networks and blockchain rails.

This hybrid **PayFi** approach employs blockchain for fast settlement, transparent fees, and availability, but ensures funds arrive as local currency in bank balances—ideal for freelancers, families, and cross-border workers.

### Final Thoughts

The phrase *best altcoins to buy now* has become a catchphrase in headlines and social media threads, but Q4 2025 reveals the real focus lies in filtering projects through the lens of real usage, adoption channels, and alignment between narrative and product.

From this perspective, GhostWareOS, Digitap, and Remittix each stand out in clear, well-defined lanes. However, **GHOST** arguably takes the lead, thanks to its concentration on privacy within one of the most active ecosystems in crypto.

By building a confidentiality stack on Solana without requiring users to leave behind existing tools, GhostWareOS offers a compelling and practical use case in today’s market.

*Stay tuned for more updates on these and other promising altcoin projects as the landscape continues to evolve.*

UFC 322 live blog: Jack Della Maddalena vs. Islam Makhachev

This is the UFC 322 live blog for the highly anticipated welterweight championship main event bout between Jack Della Maddalena and Islam Makhachev, taking place Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Islam Makhachev currently holds the No. 1 spot in MMA Fighting’s Pound-for-Pound Rankings, while Jack Della Maddalena is ranked No. 8.

Della Maddalena (18-2) captured the welterweight title this past May with a thrilling decision victory over Belal Muhammad. For his first title defense, he faces off against Makhachev, the former lightweight king who hasn’t lost a fight since 2015.

“JDM” has been on an incredible run himself, boasting an unbeaten 8-0 record in the UFC and extending his overall professional win streak to 18. After suffering defeats in his first two pro bouts, Della Maddalena discovered a winning formula and hasn’t looked back.

For Makhachev (27-1), this fight is an opportunity to cement his legacy and join the ranks of the sport’s immortals by becoming a rare two-division champion.

Makhachev, a close friend and protégé of Khabib Nurmagomedov, continued the legacy at lightweight by winning the title in 2022 and successfully defending it four times — a UFC record. This isn’t his first championship superfight; two of his title defenses came against featherweight legend Alexander Volkanovski. This time, Makhachev is moving up in weight class, determined to prove that size doesn’t matter.

Stay tuned to this UFC 322 live blog for all the latest updates and in-depth coverage of Della Maddalena vs. Makhachev.

‘Last Chance U’ player honors Oakland coach John Beam; shooting weighs on crowd at gun buyback event

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) — In the East Bay, an outpouring of love and remembrance continues this weekend for legendary Oakland football coach John Beam. The longtime Laney College Athletic Director was shot on campus Thursday and died Friday. A suspect is now in custody.

Many honored Beam at Laney Saturday, as well as at a church-sponsored gun buyback event.

“It’s just unbelievable this would happen. I had no choice but to come down and pay respects,” said Junior Jackson.

Jackson visited the fence line memorial near the Laney College Fieldhouse to honor Coach John Beam, who once told him he wasn’t cut out to play football at Oakland’s Skyline High School.

“It was his guidance that steered me to the track team. I remember that was his guidance. I appreciated that,” Jackson said.

Beam, a larger-than-life football legend in the Bay Area, died one day after being shot at Laney College on Thursday. Twenty-seven-year-old Cedric Irving Jr. was arrested Friday.

Police are calling it a targeted attack, though a motive isn’t clear. Authorities say the suspect was not a current student but was known to loiter on campus and knew Beam.

“Everybody’s trying to figure out who would do this, you know,” said Dior Scott. Scott played football for Beam’s Laney Eagles from 2018 to 2019.

He was featured, along with Beam, in the Netflix series *Last Chance U,* when Scott was unhoused and living in his car. Beam’s tough love helped turn his life around.

“In the beginning, you say, ‘Who’s this old man giving advice?’ But he’s saying that stuff because he cares about you and wants you to succeed. Now I’m in Hawaii trying to give back to people as a teacher and security guard, trying to give back to the youth like Coach Beam did for us, trying to follow in his footsteps,” Scott shared.

Cars lined up Saturday for a gun buyback at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland. Although the event was previously scheduled, many say Beam’s shooting motivated them to come.

“We were talking about that on the way here. I have no problem with guns if used safely. But that was part of it, too. What happened to him so tragic,” said Lisa Vegas from Livermore.

“I think we could turn this into a positive. I think that’s what Coach would want for the city as well,” said Pastor Michael Wallace.

Cedric Irving Jr. is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

Texas’ Path To College Football Playoffs After Loss To Georgia

**Was Tonight the Final Nail in the Coffin for the University of Texas Longhorns’ 2025 Season?**

Time will tell, but after a 35-10 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday night, the Longhorns are no longer in the driver’s seat. Entering Week 12, Texas was ranked 10th in the nation, holding a 7-2 record. Their losses included a tough defeat to the Florida Gators in Gainesville and a hard-fought Week 1 loss to the top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes.

Despite that, the Longhorns still have a case to be made. They finish the season with three SEC games, including matchups against Georgia and Texas A&M, both ranked inside the top five. This context makes the loss to Georgia somewhat more forgivable.

> “Texas is still on the bubble even though it could appear to be in a safer spot this week,” wrote ESPN’s Heather Dinich prior to the loss at Georgia.
> “If Texas finishes as a three-loss team, it’s conceivable it could be ranked in the top 12 but would likely face a similar situation to Alabama last year.”

Finishing with just three losses won’t be easy. The Longhorns must next beat a coach-less Arkansas in Austin, then knock off the undefeated Texas A&M Aggies in the final game of the season.

There is some silver lining, as Dinich notes while labeling Texas her “last team in” the playoff conversation.

> “With the ACC and Group of 5 champions currently outside of the committee’s top 12, it looks like the No. 11 and No. 12-ranked teams would be excluded and that’s probably the ceiling for a three-loss Texas team,” Dinich concludes.

**Texas Officially Eliminated From SEC Contention**

Although their playoff hopes aren’t officially dead, their SEC title hopes are. The Longhorns are still searching for their first conference championship since joining the SEC last year. However, with two losses in conference play, they are now officially eliminated from contention.

As of the end of Week 12, only four teams remain alive in the SEC: undefeated Texas A&M, one-loss Alabama, one-loss Georgia, and one-loss Ole Miss. Texas was Georgia’s last conference opponent, while Alabama must beat their bitter rival Auburn to secure their spot. Ole Miss finds itself on the outside looking in due to a strength of schedule tiebreaker favoring Alabama.

**The Silver Lining for the Longhorns**

The silver lining for Texas is that they lost early in the tough stretch. It would have been a sensational season had Texas ended November with two top-five victories, but that didn’t happen.

If the Longhorns can upset the higher-ranked Texas A&M Aggies, handing them their only loss — and doing it in the final week of the season — it would create a compelling case for the final playoff bid. Had Texas beaten Georgia but lost to A&M, their resume might be slightly weaker.

The Longhorns always had to win one of these two critical games, and if they can right the ship, at least they lost the right one.
