MANILA, Philippines — The government’s budget deficit widened to a two-month high in August, as revenues fell more sharply than expenditures, which slid to their lowest level in six months.
The Marcos administration incurred a fiscal shortfall of P84.8 billion, marking a 56 percent increase compared with the same period a year ago, the Bureau of the Treasury reported.
