Parker McCollum Is Ready for Texas Deer Season

It’s a bad weekend to be a deer on Parker McCollum’s Texas ranch—at least if any deer could communicate with humans.

The “What Kinda Man” singer recently appeared on Taste of Country Nights, where host Evan Paul asked if he was ready for deer hunting season, which kicks off on November 1st in Texas.

“Man, I’m ready. I’ve done everything and spent way too much money on stuff that I don’t need and already had 10 of. Come Saturday morning, I’m a deer hunter again,” McCollum shared enthusiastically.

Having just wrapped up his 2025 What Kinda Man Tour, McCollum is beyond excited to be home with his family. That means gearing up to head out with the boys for some hunting adventures.

When asked about his wife, Hallie Ray, and their son, Major, the singer said, “They’ve never been better. Of course, he’s a wild animal. He’s 15 months and he’s out of his freakin’ mind. He’s great and Hallie Ray is great.”

He added, “She is built to be a mom. She is just as good as God makes ’em, so I count my blessings every day.”

Parker McCollum’s “What Kinda Man” is poised to be another No. 1 hit. If it reaches the top of the chart, it will mark his fourth No. 1 song at country radio.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — If you’re craving big bowls of ramen, stacks of sushi rolls, teriyaki chicken, and more, look no further than Gokoku, a vegetarian hotspot nestled in Los Angeles’s North Hollywood community.

Owner Shan Shan Estacio, who grew up in China surrounded by family and food, shares a heartfelt perspective on her cuisine. “Everything is really amazing,” Estacio says. “In our culture, the food is love.” This sentiment is evident throughout Gokoku, a restaurant that, much like the city of Los Angeles itself, serves as a melting pot. Japanese cartoons line the walls while the menu features dishes inspired by various countries.

“A lot of people drive one hour, two hours, just to come and eat that vegan teriyaki chicken,” Estacio reveals. At Gokoku, everything is 100% plant-based — from steamed dumplings to Beyond Meat ramen and sushi creations. Estacio’s love for animals inspired her to embrace a plant-based lifestyle. Here, the “chicken” is crafted from soybeans and the “salmon” is made from rice, delivering authentic flavors without animal products.

Reflecting on her journey, Estacio says she is living the American dream, thanks to the support of the North Hollywood community and beyond. “I came here 11 years ago, started with zero,” she shares. “I’m really very thankful for their support. All the love from them, I am truly grateful.”

Gokoku also gives back to the community. During recent wildfires, the restaurant collaborated with local groups to provide free meals to victims. Additionally, Estacio and her team engage in numerous charity efforts focused on animal welfare.

“Ask yourselves: do you really want to be here? Because you’re gonna push yourselves far beyond any place you’ve ever been. Athletics, show-biz, all of that? That’s kindergarten compared to the pressure and responsibility of Special Forces,” DS Rudy Reyes told them.

“If any one of you has any doubt that they do not want to be on this course, that they are not here to train at 100% of their ability, stand up right here and turn in that armband.”
