Boston Police Blotter: Gone in 60 seconds: Woman carjacked at movie theater

Two Juveniles Arrested After Alleged Carjacking in Braintree Movie Theater Parking Lot

Two juveniles are under arrest after allegedly carjacking a woman in a movie theater parking lot in Braintree and then abandoning her car in Boston.

According to Braintree Police, the teens approached the woman as she sat in her car in the parking lot of the AMC movie theater on Grandview Road on Friday evening. They allegedly knocked on her window and threatened to shoot her if she didn’t get out of the car. Fearing for her life, police say, she complied, even though a gun was never displayed.

The teens took off in the stolen car, which contained the woman’s personal possessions including her purse. Braintree Police issued a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert. About an hour later, the Boston Police Department located the suspect vehicle unoccupied in the city.

An unidentified witness provided additional information that led police to the suspects. Due to their age, Braintree Police have not identified the juveniles.
