Diablo 4 Season 11 Barbarians don’t have quite the same easy time leveling as Necromancers do, they have more options, I’d like to think. You can go with Rend, HOTA, Whirlwind, and a few others, but personally, I like Whirlwind the most. While Hammer of the Ancients is no doubt the best build going into D4 Season 11, I think it starts a little slow for a leveling build. That said, if you’re aiming to play a Barbarian in Diablo 4 Season 11, here’s our preferred build for leveling all the way to 60, and some thoughts on transitioning into other builds later on. Your thoughts may vary, and by all means, change something if it doesn’t work for you. Note: This build may change slightly depending on what the class plays like when D4 Season 11 officially starts. How does Barbarian Whirlwind leveling build work in Diablo 4 Season 11? Barbarian Whirlwind is easily one of the best level builds for Diablo 4 Season 11, and it’s also pretty easy to play. You lean on that Whirlwind button to spin to win. Between your Shouts and Whirlwind, both can create Dust Devils, which does the vast majority of our damage in this build. Of course, that does mean you need Dust Devil’s Aspect, which is really one of the only downsides. You need to find it on a piece of Legendary gear, but that doesn’t mean the build doesn’t work otherwise. That just means the build gets better later. The build itself is pretty easy, though. You Lunging Strike for Fury, pop your Shouts when they’re on cooldown, and Ground Stomp to reset Wrath of the Berserker. Wrath of the Berserker is to pull enemies in, and then you spin right through them with Whirlwind. You want to make sure you have a few Legendary Aspects to keep your defenses decent, too. Aspect of Might, Aspect of Disobedience, and Aspect of Numbing Wrath. Lunging Strike every 4s to keep these popping off, and gain a host of damage reduction, fortify, and bonus armor. You’re going to be running the following abilities: Lunging Strike Whirlwind Wrath of the Berserker War Cry Ground Stomp Rallying Cry Talents and Arsenal selections for Diablo 4 Season 11 Barbarian Whirlwind leveling build When it comes to the talent tree for this Barbarian level build in Diablo 4 Season 11, we’re going to pick up skills pretty early, because they’re pivotal for the build. Then we can worry about the various, powerful passives that amplify our damage dealing. When using the Arsenal system for Barbarians in Diablo 4 Season 11, this leveling build is going to put Two-Handed Axe in the Technique slot. Then, when you can assign skills to your weapons, do the following: Whirlwind: Two-Handed Slashing Weapon Lunging Strike: Two-Handed Slashing The real important one is Whirlwind, because Furious Whirlwind inflicts Bleed when using a Slashing Weapon. Ideal Divine Gifts for Barbarian leveling build in Diablo 4 Season 11 Divine Gifts feel more like they reward you for doing specific content in Diablo 4 Season 11, so the focus is going to be doing Helltides and leveling that way. For that reason, the Essence of Squalor is going to be the best. It makes Maggots potentially drop Exp Globes in Helltides. If you have it in the Purified slot, it’s doubled, and refills a Healing Potion every 20s. Which Mercenary and Rune Combos to pick for Diablo 4 Season 11 Barbarian leveling build Raheir is still going to be our Mercenary of choice, and is also paired with Varyana. Below, we’ll highlight the talents you want for Raheir, but for Varyana, link Bloodthirst with Whirlwind. Raheir’s talents Ground Slam Raheir’s Aegis Bastion Inspiration It might be hard to come by right Runewords, but personally I like Cir+Gar (Cast the same non-channeled skill 3 times in a row, gain 2. 5% Crit Strike Chance for 5s, up to 25), and Moni+Tec (Cast 2 MObility or Macabre Skills, Invoke Earthquake). Which Uniques and Legendary Aspects help you transition into endgame builds? One of the downsides to Barbarian endgame builds in Diablo 4 Season 11, you’re still going to need quite a few specific Legendary Aspects and Uniques to really make them work. For example, HOTA is one of the most overpowered build right now thanks to an interaction between Melted Heart of Selig and Ramaladni’s Magnum Opus. It will almost certainly catch a nerf, but it will still almost certainly be overwhelmingly powerful. Below are some suggestions of Aspects and Uniques to consider as you go forward for two builds: HOTA and Whirlwind. HOTA Aspects Aspect of Ancestral Force Accelerating Earthquakes HOTA Uniques Heir of Perdition The Grandfather Mantle of Mountain’s Fury Sabre of Tsasgal Ramaladni’s Magnum Opus Melted Heart of Selig Whirlwind Aspects Earthquakes Vehement Brawler’s Dust Devil’s Dire Whirlwind Whirlwind Uniques Heir of Perdition The Grandfather Ring of Starless Skies Battle Trance Check out our other Diablo 4 guides and features Diablo 4 Season 11: All Divine Gifts and how to get them Diablo 4 Season 11: All new Uniques Diablo 4 Season 11 Masterwork changes: Boon or bust?.
