BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — KJ Cooper threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns as Texas Southern rallied to hold off Southern with a 35-30 victory on Saturday.
The game remained tight throughout, with Southern mounting a late comeback attempt. Cam’Ron McCoy capped an eight-play, 64-yard drive with a 5-yard touchdown run with 3:10 remaining in the game, bringing Southern within five points of Texas Southern.
Despite the late surge, the Jaguars’ defense stepped up and forced Texas Southern to hold onto their slim lead, securing the win.
This thrilling matchup showcased strong performances on both sides, but ultimately, Texas Southern managed to come out on top.
