Doncic has showcased remarkable conditioning and form, dunking the ball more frequently. This was certainly evident in a play with four minutes remaining in the third quarter. Doncic got past his defender and leapt in the air for a two-handed jam. Feeling he got contact en route to the dunk, he barked at the referee for not calling a foul on the play.
### How Luka Doncic and the Lakers Played Against the Hornets
Luka Doncic continues to shine as one of the best players in the NBA, leading the Lakers to a 121-111 victory over the Hornets. The game was close between the two sides throughout the first half. Charlotte led 40-36 before Los Angeles responded with a 29-23 second quarter to take a two-point lead at halftime.
It wasn’t until the third quarter that the Lakers took control, outscoring the Hornets 31-15 in the period. This gave the visitors the cushion they needed to secure the win.
Steals and turnovers made a significant difference in this matchup. The Lakers prevailed in both categories by making 12 steals while limiting their turnovers to just 11. The Hornets, conversely, turned the ball over 23 times and managed only six steals.
Five players scored in double digits for Los Angeles, including Doncic. He finished with a stat line of 38 points, seven assists, six rebounds, and a steal. Doncic shot 14-of-28 from the field, including 5-of-15 from beyond the arc, and was perfect from the free-throw line going 5-of-5.
Austin Reaves contributed 24 points and seven assists, Rui Hachimura added 21 points and three rebounds, while Deandre Ayton put up 14 points and six rebounds. Marcus Smart also made an impact with 13 points, seven steals, and six assists.
