‘I would’ve went to jail’: Tate McRae takes group photo with fan’s phone at Austin concert. Then a woman next to the fan asks for the picture

**Tate McRae Concert Experience Turns Sour for One Fan**

Recently, Tate McRae has been delighting fans on her tour. However, one excited fan’s concert experience quickly turned into a bitter disappointment.

In a nine-minute TikTok clip that has amassed over 713,000 views, TikToker Ellen Khan (@everythingellen_) shared the full story. She began by explaining that she’s a huge fan of the singer, even driving almost four hours to see her in concert. Khan mentioned that she secured tickets within arm’s reach of the standing area right next to the stage.

As the concert progressed, Khan noted that Tate McRae was engaging with fans at the edge of the stage, taking photos on their phones. At one point, McRae took the phone of the girl standing beside Khan to snap a photo. Khan asked the girl to send her the photo afterward, but the girl didn’t respond and instead claimed her phone was about to die.

In response, Khan kindly offered the girl a battery pack, which the girl used for the rest of the concert.

### What Happened With the Photo?

After the concert ended, Khan once again asked the girl to send the photo. To her shock, the girl responded, asking for a price. Initially, she demanded $200, but after some pushback, she lowered the price to $100.

“I was like stunned at how awful she turned,” Khan noted. She emphasized how rare it is for an artist to take a photo like that on someone’s phone, pointing out that fans hardly ever get that lucky.

To make matters worse, when Khan asked for her battery pack back, the girl refused and kept the charger.

### Searching for the Photo

In search of the photo, Khan combed through all relevant hashtags but was unsuccessful in finding it. However, she did notice that on the other side of the concert, a similar photo was taken by another fan—and this fan shared the image freely, resulting in it being passed around multiple times.

“I hope Tate McRae sees this because guess what, you have an un-girl’s girl at your concert, and I got a picture with you and I can’t get it,” Khan concluded.

### TikTok Reaction

The TikTok comments flooded in with users expressing outrage on Khan’s behalf.

– “Oh hellllllllllllllllll noooooooooooooooooo ok I’m actually fuming,” one user wrote.
– “I would’ve went to jail,” another admitted.
– A third tagged Tate McRae, saying, “If Tate McRae knew this !!!! She would not support that mean girl!!”
– Another comment added, “The way my jaw hit the floor.”

### A Plot Twist

The story took a turn when the girl in question commented on Khan’s TikTok, claiming she had actually sent the video. In response, Khan posted a follow-up video calling out the girl’s behavior at the concert, highlighting that the fact it was a video, not a photo, showed just how out of the loop the girl was.

Khan also shared a screenshot from Instagram showing the girl had asked her to take the video down. She thanked viewers for their support, saying, “The fact that I was able to use TikTok and all you amazing girls to be able to get the video is just amazing.”

### Artists Speak Out on Bad Concert Behavior

Khan isn’t the only TikToker to call out poor concert behavior. In the UK, musician and YouTuber James Marriott (@toomuchmarriott) shared his own troubling experience with an audience member touching him inappropriately during a show.

“If you’re ever going to see someone’s show, whoever they are, they don’t want that,” he said. “So, whether it’s fellow concert-goers or the artist in question, respect is always key.”
