Police in Hyogo Prefecture have arrested gang affiliates over the abduction of a man in his 20s in Amagasaki, who remains missing, with investigators now moving toward re-arresting several suspects on suspicion of murder.

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday sought response from the Maharashtra police while hearing a petition by a YouTuber-journalist who was allegedly assaulted in July this year and has since been receiving threats. The court noted that it has come across several incidents of harassment of journalists recently.

Diamonds worth ₹3 crore, totaling 666.65 carats, were allegedly stolen from Surat-based merchant Sheel Kordia. The diamonds, meant to be delivered to Mumbai by Vikram Sanghvi, were reportedly misappropriated en route. Borivali police have registered a case under Sections 316(2) and 316(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sanghvi is absconding.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night when Gandhirajan, a Special Sub-Inspector from Tirunelveli Town Police Station, was driving his car. A sudden stop by a bus ahead caused the biker in front of him to brake sharply. The car then collided with the bike, throwing it to the roadside while the rider, a young man, sustained minor injuries.
