CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Nick Shogbonyo scored 14 points to lead Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to a 68-56 victory over Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday.
Shogbonyo was efficient on the court, shooting 3 of 5 from the field, including an impressive 3 for 4 from beyond the arc. He also contributed 5 of 7 from the free-throw line, helping the Islanders improve to 10-8 overall and 6-3 in Southland Conference play.
Bryson Wheatfall added nine points and pulled down five rebounds for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
For Southeastern Louisiana, Isaiah Gaines led all scorers with 18 points, six rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Peter Hemschemeier also provided a strong performance with 13 points and four assists, while Jeremy Elyzee chipped in 12 points.
The Lions’ record dropped to 5-13 overall and 2-7 in conference play.
